Wifi problem on stock de odexed - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hey guys need a help
Just don't slap me with - noob search this that blah blah (i know I'm one still read patiently)
Well i flashed a stock de odexed rom today via (hells kernel) cwm
When wifi was toggled it scanned for a while and then rebooted...
I flashed wifi drivers, re flashed kernel etc. Yet rom rebooted. Back to Evo X and wifi is fine (so i assumed it's a problem in software not my mobile)
I actually tried flashing drivers, setting permissions and re flashed kernel..
I searched on XDA and majority of posts were ICS and JB roms.. Hence I posted this. Thanks in advance

If you're using hells fusion #50 kernel Flash dhd1.1 in cwm with system mounted
if you are using most other stock based kernels flash dhd-stock in cwm with system mounted

Sir it didn't work... After i flashed drivers(with system mounted) and toggled wifi, it detected network but then rebooted (actually it was more like hot boot)... Just as it was before. I guess i didn't download a proper de odexed rom.

if you have rom problems
download any stock based custom rom from dev section and put on root of sd card
go into recovery
flash temp cwm zip if using a kernel that doesn't already have cwm
goto mounts and storage
format system data and cache
mount system data and cache
flash rom zip
restart
at the moment you cannot download stock roms to flash via odin as hotfile has been closed down although I have uploaded a stock rom firmware to dev host which you can find on or near the last page of dokys firmware thread on dev section - it will boot your phone but its European firmware so may not work on your network but at least it will boot your phone if flashing a custom rom with the method above doesn't work

No worries sir, i have Evolution X rom and 2 other in my sd card. Also i have 2 backups.. I just wanted to experiment and probably try to solve the issue on stock. I'm in evo x and everything is working fine.
Thanks a lot for assisting me immediately (pressed the button too )
The thing is i don't have a comp. So i was trying out different stock (cwm flashable) . I will just download one from doky's thread after the website issue has been sorted out

flashing a stock cwm zip doesnt actually give you stock rom as such - think of it more like a custom rom with no changes made to any files
To make it work properly you really in the case of flashing a deodex stock rom via cwm you need to be on the same baseband as the stock rom
To actually flash stock rom and to change basebands you needs to flash the stock rom firmware via odin

I can go to CWM and Download mode but I don't know what I have to do , I can't even flash the TWRP from here.

1. I'm trying to flash any custom ROM.
2. I used to have TWRP and any time I was moving from another ROM I would do a factory rest and wipe data and everything goes fine.
3. I changed to CWM recovery last night ( Install by ROM Manager ) and tried to flash rom ( after do wipe data and factory reset ) it showed it was trying to flash the rom and went ok ( and also gapps too ).
4. I reboot the phone and it's stuck in the samsung logo and won't go through.
5. I tried to flash other ROM as CM, Pac , Carbon, and with all of them same issue.
6. I format everything in the mount section and still not able to go through because it won't flash anything.
Did you Loki doki after flashing the rom?
If said u format everything..then u had wipe all inside ur hp..
If u using samsung u need pit and odin..and also the rom..

You are still not giving enough information. Are you sure the ROM and Kernel were for AT&T or at least could be used on an AT&T phone? Was it already LOKI'd or did you use the LOKI-DOKI script directly after flashing the ROM / Kernel (and GAPPS if applicable) while still in recovery? The ROM Manager CWM version does not auto-loki, only OUDHS CWM auto-lokis.
Did you follow the flashing instruction in the ROM's thread exactly?
If you don't know or understand any part of what I am asking you, you will need to read all of the pinned threads in the "General" section to familiarize yourself with what you need to know.

As I said all of my problem was the CWM and I don't know why it won't be able to flash any zip file.
I was flashing CM 10.2 unofficial that day , no special kernel ( Just ROM ) and PA latest GApps.
But they didn't work and I went to ODIN and stock my phone and rerooted and used TWRP and I was able to flash everything.

[Q] Galaxy Y custom kernel problem

So yeah, hey XDA, first post here
I have got a problem with my SGY, whenever i flash a custom kernel via CWM, I get stuck at splash screen. And when i flash stock kernel via Odin, phone boots normally.
Do you guys know what is the problem?
Kernels I have tried:
1.Kuro - loop at splash
2.Hells-fusion - loop at splash
3.Savie - stuck at splash
Any help would be really appreciated.

Most likely you failed to mount system before flashing the zip or your baseband needs updating
Make sure you goto mounts & storage in cwm and mount system before flashing any zip (will display "unmount system" if it is mounted)
To update baseband flash one of the latest stock roms via odin - see my firmware thread - link it signature

Yeah I did mount everything in CWM, it's probably the baseband thing. I have the latest firmware file for my region (Baltic States). Will it work?
Here is the version of it:
PDA:XXMI1
MODEM:XXMG1
CSC:SEBLL1
KERNEL:XXMI1
Anyways, gonna make a nandroid backup and try to flash the whole stock firmware.
EDIT:Flashed stock with wipe, rooted, flashed savie - no luck.

Yes that's the latest firmware
The only other thing I can think of is that you are using the wrong cwm
Here is my one - Flash it in stock recovery then mount system & flash zip
http://d-h.st/u2m
Also there are different versions of savie - make sure you are using the stock one if on stock rom and not the cm one
I would use hells fusion #50 myself for testing

Use aroma file manager - Flash it in cwm with system mounted
Goto system/etc/init.d

His kernel is technically banned on XDA due to not being able to provide the sources
All I can say is long as you are the right one - there's one for stock and one for cm7 but I'd just use hells fusion #50

[Q] How to downgrade from CM11 back to CM7.2 (Reincarnation ROM) without ODIN ?

So guys I installed the CM11 KK Rom by Psyche almost a month ago,
And it's great! [emoji6]
But the problem is,
1)I messed up with the GAPPS and can't restore it without format
2)I want CM7.2 back because of various reasons. [emoji28]
So,
As the title says,
How do I downgrade back to CM7.2 without Odin??
I had tried once, but got SD Mounting issues. [emoji29]
Any help is appreciated! [emoji6] [emoji106]
Just flash the cm7 bieltv3 kernel in cwm with system mounted
Reboot to recovery
Format system data cache
Mount system data cache
Flash cm7 rom zip
Restart
Have you tried it bro??
Didn't get any SD Card Mounting issues??

Flashed the CM specific kernel and rebooted into recovery.
But the kernel didn't chance and i'm still on CM11 kernel.
Nothing happened.

Flashed fine with me
You can always try flashing hells fusion #50 first - its a stock based kernel but supports ext so you can flash that then a stock based rom or then try flashing bieltv3 kernel
If all else fails you will need to use odin
Tysm for the help bro...

yeah actually this happened to me too at earlier stages i mean months ago..weirdly that *kernel not changing* problem is with only with cwm 6.0.5.3 ( which is necessery at this stage ) and not with earliest version of 6.0.5.0..i would stongly recommend you to flash stock via odin then cm7 to get back cuz if bu any chance you could get to cm7 kernel directly from cm11 one , you would keep getting problems with mounting data or getting 0 mb space etc...thats what i experienced..
press thanks if i helped

Why is Cyanogen OS 11 the only ROM which i can install

Hi,
So, i thought of trying different ROMS,earlier i was using stock rom. Now, i download many new roms like cyanogen 11, creed v4, chobits...., etc.
But Cyanogen OS 11 was the only ROM which i could get to work, rest of them just installed and when i rebooted my device through CWM. Nothing happened and cwm just opened again instead of the actual thing. Like i said Cyanogen was the only exception in which when i rebooted my device it actually started
Please help me(what am i doing wrong)
Also what's up with Link2SD and cyanogen

CM11 uses cwm6 and requires your system to be in ext format
Stock Roms use cwm5 and requires your phone system to be in rfs format
To clarify
If flashing cm11 use cwm6
If flashing stock roms use cwm5
In both cases make sure you format system data cache then mount system data cache before flashing the rom zip
You will need to use the cm11 kernel with cm11 (in rom zip)
You will need to use a stock kernel for stock roms
You will need to reformat your system back to rfs for stock based roms unless the kernel supports ext - you do this by flashing stock rom via odin (link at top of dev thread or in my signature)

The reason why you can't install another rom if you have flashed cm11 is because only cm11 uses cwm6 & stock based roms use cwm5 - also the file systems between cm11 and stock based are different
For stock based roms
Flash stock rom via odin If not already on stock
Flash a temp cwm5 zip in stock recovery
Format system data cache
Mount system data cache
Flash rom zip
Restart
The gapps for cm11 is clearly available on the first post of the rom thread
Gapps for Gingerbread is easily available via Google if you search gapps

When I say stock rom this also includes any custom roms based on stock rom - such as the ones you mentioned
You are obviously on the wrong file system & not using a stock based kernel
Flash stock rom via odin first to convert back to rfs & stock kernel & use cwm5 to flash stock based custom roms
Gapps for Gingerbread (for use on stock based custom roms only & cm7) https://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
Gapps for cm11 only on rom thread
Thanks a lot !!
I'll try that and let you know
Thanks again for all your help .....
CyanogenMod 11 uses the open-source MTD driver for the internal flash chip, as opposed to all other ROMs which use Samsung's BML driver. No other custom ROM uses the MTD driver (apart from the custom kernels that people are releasing for CM11, which are all based on my kernel source that use the MTD driver).
In order to go back to any ROM that uses the BML driver (which includes ROMs such as CyanogenMod 9), the partitions first need to be converted back to the old BML format. You need to flash all components of a full stock ROM at the same time - the PDA, CSC and MODEM - via Odin. There's no other way to go back.

Psyke, as you're a part of the androidarmv6 team, do you have any info on ART on armv6?

Phone doesnt like cutom roms :)

Hi my phone seems to hate custom roms like cyamogenmod and gapps because everytime i flash them a bootloop inevitably comes to haunt me. Other roms like Albe95 Ports work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-albe95-lollirom-official-1-0-t3049564
My current rom is Phoenix Rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349584
The roms listed above work flawlessly.
A rom that I wanted to try was cyamogenmod 12.1 optimized by JDC team but it wouldnt boot. I followed exact instructions for each rom. Every time i used TWRP.
Could my problem be that gapps screw with the custom rom ?
Google apps are integrated in phoenix rom and albe95.
Maybe thats why they work ?
Please help.
Thank you for youre time.

You can easily test that theory by not flashing Gapps. Just only flash the rom and try to boot it.
Also are you running a Lollipop bootloader and modem?
Ive tried flashing only custom rom but the bootloop comes back. Right now i am running a lollipop modem and bootloader.

Ok do this:
Backup everything that you want to save stored on your internal storage.
1. Make sure you are running the latest TWRP. This is important because using an outdated version will not let you boot the rom.
2. Start TWRP and do a advanced wipe. Format /data (this will wipe your internal storage), format /system, format /cache and /dalvik.
3. Flash the rom.
Unfortunately that does not help. I have advanced wiped ever time before flashing rom. Maybe permisions are the problem ?

What version of TWRP are you using? And did you try booting it without simcard and sd card?
Im using 2.8.7.2 twrp. I havnt tried to boot without sd or sim. Would that be the problem ?

No idea. I'm just guessing because that rom should just boot.
Are you sure the file you downloaded is not damaged? Check the MD5 signature. For example, the latest version of the JDC CM rom has MD5:
3a1af890b87c11256c943759459ec3e4
So transfer the file to your phone. Then download a MD5 checker from the market and compare it.
Md5 matches. Looks like the insides of my phone are screwed up
Reparation your device
As those are caused by a screwed partition
As a reparation fixes this
You are going to need :-
0.a PC
1.a PIT file for your Galaxy s4 (depending on your variant)
2.Odin
3.Samsung USB drivers installed in the PC
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Start with flashing the stock rom using odin. Then go for root, then recovery and then try flashing. I had the same problem but it never bothered me after flaahing the stock.
