What is the easiest way to get a custom recovery on my device which is a i9505 i have rooted using cf auto root?
Sorry for the noobish questions i have always had Nexus devices so Odin etc is new to me
Use recovery tools, available from the play store. After installing CWM, it's easy to change to any other recovery you want. Hope this helped!

Just flash. All custom ROMs have root.
Btw, you need a custom recovery to flash a ROM (like TWRP, CWM)

Not necessarily. You can flash a custom recovery through Odin and not root it at all and then just install a already rooted ROM.

CWM is always reliable. Some prefer TWRP. I'm using Philz Touch. It depends on your preferences. CWM is the most stable.

There's plenty of guide threads in the General Section stickied at the top and even threads for the recoveries in the Development section. I believe you just need to use ODIN to flash the recovery. I'm assuming you're on an I337m if you used CF Auto Root, since that doesn't work for the other locked bootloader devices in this board section.

You might try this. It's a twrp tar that should be flashable in Odin.

Hi guys
Really struggling to find the Stock Kernel for my Note 3 and how to flash.
From what i've read on other forums, everyone seems to say you just flash stock ROM via Odin however this has proven not to be the case when i have flashed.
Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

so what your saying is that you tried to flash the stock firmware via ODIN and the kernel did not revert back to stock kernel ?

Yes that's exactly right. to check if it was a one off i'm currently flashing stock ROM again via Odin as we speak.
it should work that way but if it still doesn't work, go into recovery and WIPE all and then reflash Stock.. that should work

I have seen a few threads saying flashing the latest firmware blocks flash custom recovery. Is there a way around it? Do you think there will be flash block for Marshmallow? If so, then I might have to trade this for Nexus 6P.
In settings switch usb Debugging and OEM Unlock to on.
Download Odin 3.10.7
Download arter97 Philz Touch Recovery from arter97.com
Flash custom recovery from odin
