I open this thread because I think there is something wrong.
Why the note3, note2 etc. already 'there are rom final of galaxy s5, ma s4 we are still to zero? I can not understand why!
I hope that the moderators can understand the outburst of a user who has a passion for android.
I hope I have given a shock to everyone in the friendly way.
thanks for your attention.
I know what you are saying. There doesn't seem to be many devs and themers etc in the international S4 forums, and the few there is dont seem to be very helpful or active, especially in the themes and apps thread.
In all the time I have been coming here, I don't think I have seen a single 'recognised developer' or 'recognised themer' in any of the many threads, especially the S5 threads.
It's pretty shocking really, especially with the S4 being so popular. You would think it would have far more support than it does.

in fact! The galaxy s4 is one of the phones most 'popular, and you do not understand where are all the developers, maybe they are secretly at work but at least they could warn us so we are more' quiet ....
outputs are a few applications, and most also have bugs .... it's something a bit 'sad what's going on
It is sad but i have to agree the S4 is not getting attention of much developers, dont know why it is the most sold Android phone and still the Note 2 and 3 beat us for number of developers, they have ported all s5 apps and we are just struggling trying to do it by us with copying things here and there.
Dont know why so
For Note 2, Sammy released a fully Libs/Framwork Base, so porting was verry easy,
For Note 3, Devs Mad great works, but still in progress
For us, We need to wait
Yeah I agree with you guys note 3 got all s5 features even ultra power saving mode. All least they can port the rom ( ditto note 3 ) for us.
Something that Samsung should have provided to all flagshi pphones from day1...

It would be nice if you all stop asking for this and that... No dev signed a contract saying he would provide all latest features to S4. Its not their job. So just wait until someone capable does that, if you can't wait sell your phone and buy the latest one as you want Thread reported.

it's just a friendly protest!
it is useless to say you wait and sell the phone etc ... we all know how it works do not need him to tell you ... it was just kind of a question to understand why the developers for s4 (popular phone) are so 'absent

Yeah yeah yeah. The international S4 forums hardly gets any support from 'recognised' devs and themers etc, thats just the truth of the matter. You virtually never see recognised devs helping out in the apps and themes forum. With their knowledge and skills, they could get all or most of the latest and greatest apps from the S5 working on our phones, because everything that is needed to get them working, is right there in the ROM. It just needs someone knowledgable and with experience with android and TW ROM's to figure it out. I just wish the guys with the knowledge would help people out more!

Bro let me tell u something
A lot of developer more likely to ported or focus on note due to certain reason
1st larger community starting from note 1.
2nd all dev are helping each other on rom
3rd note are more user friendly framework based on certain dev.
Just pray. So far follow more than one thread. S4, note 2 and note 3 development. And downloading 1xxx gb of rom files and apk of s5 to mod it with my s4.
So far i do excited. Even sometimes i have to flash and wipe my phone more than 5 times. Soft brick blalallalala
And do understand s9me of dev are studyin
Just relax and wait with patience hehhe

Hi Dudes.
From a theme perspective, there is not too much to do nowadays for the S4. Stable ROMs with few unnoticeable firmware update changes led to this. Since KK release, Sammy added only 1 lonely PNG !!!
While porting a theme to the Note3 community, S5 apps flooded the ROMs with doubtful results. Lots of FC's ... Music hardly opens.
So, may be we can just enjoy the stability and try to calm down our ORD.
Nice regards.
.
To be honest the is probably a few reasons we are seeing less and less on these forums.
1. Many ROMs are ported to dozens of devices, meaning maintainers are needed to work across all phones. Likelihood is some models are more time consuming then others.
2. The s4 was a flagship device, devs don't earn a huge amount for what they do so for a lot the top end devices are out of the question until the price drops
3. In line with above, as the price comes down, the price of newer models released do too. For example, my wife's note 3 was released at the same price my s4 was worth 6 months after release.
4. In general, a fair amount of Developers come from the US, this device is null and void to them.
5. We seem to of hit a plateau regarding features and performance for the s4 where as newer devices have newer features to build on.
6. Its summer (nearly) and a lot will be studying for exams
Make of my views what you will...

While I do agree with the obvious.. all great devs have jumped ship, a thing I am truly sorry for, we have no right to protest. They don't owe us anything.
All they did, they did from passion and on this base they've created this wonderful community - xda which indeed grew along with Samsung and HTC a few years ago, period in which Samsung was the no 1 choice for any big dev.
They weren't payed for this, some didn't even got the respect they would've deserved and nowadays they have other priorities, other passions or other preferred device on which to try their magic. It's their decision, they probably have good reasons for this and we can just accept and respect their decision in respect for their great work.
Beside, the context has changed, now there are many potent OEMs, each really trying to do their best when it comes to fast updates, functionality of the sw and top notch hw.
_______ _______ _______ _______
Anyway, just wanted to get you guys a glimpse of hope.
Apparently @sac23 is ready to start working on a direct port of the s5 to the s4 (just after he irons out the last few things the on the s5 port to n3).
This beside all the great work @Albe95 , @Arsaw , @Tamerlan2009 , @m_beek , @Carotix , all roms maintainers etc. are doing!
Fun isn't over yet boys!!!

I was just reading up on the villain rom team and low and behold, it would seem nprussell is about to start work full time for samsung http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/content.php?267-VillainROM-Monthly-Update
Down near the bottom he mentions some work he is doing on the sgs and the other family members. Maybe samsung has really seen the power of good xda devs?
Good news, hope SGS and SGS2 owners benefit from this
Samsung really needs a good themer (not me)
And voodoo sound improvements
The problems with this, that devs still have to jump as samsung tells them, and it might not be different at all.
If I were that developer, I would certainly set some conditions to make samsung firmwares genuinely better.
I don't get why this doesn't happen more often; there's a lot of talent lurking around these forums, not to mention a genuine interest in making our phones better. Supercurio(seriously why hasn't he been hired yet?), Darky, Doc and the whole CM7 team would all deserve getting a decent payment for what they do.

right. samsung may just make them work on the galaxy s3 or something. who's to say they will be working on the sgs at all?
also working for a "boss" or company per say, is not as much fun as working on your own.
you have to follow all kind of boring rules, and you don't really get to do all the stuff that you want to it.
when you work on your own, you have total free control of the development
of course... the big difference is one gets you paid meanwhile doing what you like, and the other you don't get paid at all, and if lucky you might receive some donations
I would have to agree about working for a boss being a drag and all...... but as far as working on the newer versions of SGS, he says he's already worked on a recently published rom.... att update maybe? And is promising custom roms based on future work. Smells of gingerbread to me

Well, This is the first time I make an useless thread in XDA, But I'm just really mad at how dead are the forums in S2 section.. Most of the developers moved to Galaxy S3, and I think the LG Optimus 4X and Transformer prime got a taste of CM10 already.
I've been checking twitter A LOT and almost none of the developers are working on S2, Codeworkx is working on i9100G and the rest on S3.
I'm not blaming the developers for leaving us, I mean not like they're forced to develop or they're getting paid. They're doing it for fun and some of them earn money from donations. And from what I've been reading, Jelly bean is hard to port on S2 because of the incompatible chips or something, they aren't open source friendly, but I mean, S2 is still in the main page as one of the most popular devices and actually no1 is trying to get CM10 to work on S2 /: when I saw Galaxy S3 I was like.. god that's an ugly phone and it uses pentile, the battery seems lame and they didn't use the dual core exynos that is faster, I don't remember the name of that processor, so i thought not many people would move to S3. I can afford a S3 but I think it's a waste of money when i have a S2 which is super fast and the screen is amazing, and to me, the design is better on S2.
IF you wanna post your thoughts about the development in S2 lately feel free, if not just leave this useless thread.
after all this is the general section about Galaxy S2. I'm just kinda sad and disapointed, when JB was released the CM team said it'd be super super easy to upgrade from ics to jb, again I'M NOT blaming the developers or trying to get anything with this thread, the developers are amazing persons that made a lot of things for our device already and i love em
has HTC seanstion got CM10? has Optimus 2X got Cm9 ?
So my dear foolish friend stop comparing ur phone with the latest ones and wait for a while !!
Sgs2 forum seems kinda dead in the couple of months and weeks lately and we can't blame the devs for having the latest toys to play with. Anyway, even though this is the general forum for sgs2 i don't think rant threads are accepted here. I have seen alot of threads like this being closed down. I suggest change the title and the message a bit in order for your thread to not be closed by the mods. I too want JB and so are the others, the best thing for us to do is wait for sammy or other devs to port JB in our device. Cheers!
Btw, by S3 you mean the U.S variants? Because the international version of Sgs3 has a quadcore exynos processor while the us variants have a dual core S4 processor.

i agree with you! but something else made me an impression, the sgs2 community are a bunch of kids (i dont mean you exactly). if i open a thread and if i type "moron", "retard", "idiot" or some other offensive name calling i get instant results! why is that? why does everybody call the other some name? are you better than the rest? no.. have you done anything to contribute to the community (besides being a huge SoB)? no.. then shut up.. the HTC community is much more friendly, and best of all people are always trying to port something.. here we find 20 different versions of aokp, cm9 and so on.. basically exactly the same, but they've added their preferred fonts, wallpaper and all that crap. it's like that because the real developers you can count on your both hands.. the other ones are a joke.. if you put different tweaks, kernel, modem and you theme a rom.. that doent make you a developer.. developers develop.. they make programs, port roms, make things that dont work or arent compatible - compatible and working.
THAT's MY opinion.. agree with it or not

Stop whining ...
It's kind of true ... thinks really slowed down a lot!
We might expect:
- official 4.0.4 rolling out july - august (for sure)
- official 4.1 this year (maby)
But cm10 undoubtedly will become a very good alternative due time, expanding life of my smartphone a year or even two.
I have no problem using my beautiful phone as a ... phone ... instead of using it as an ongoing development project
If one is addicted to a daily firmware fix ... then stop whining and move on to then next hot piece of hardware

I totally agree with your point on having different versions of the same ROM with only changed icons, wallpapers and other non sense stuff. No new feature addition or anything of that sort.
Thats why I'm either on Samsung's Official ROM or on CM9.....coz both of them are unique in their own way. Others are simply tweaks of these 2 ROMs only.
Sorry, I find MIUI pretty lame....

No one likes to work on the S II. Codeworkx is working more on the i9100G because it's OMAP, lot more easier [and fking great, his words] than Exynos. The S I development is better than the S II, because the S I hardware is very similar to the Nexus One, so, nexus... you know. The Galaxy S JB will be better than the Galaxy S II JB. That's why, and more things, I really want to sell my S II and buy the Galaxy Nexus. The hardware of the Nexus is just a bit [really bit] lower than the S II. But with JB it just turns the Nexus a kickass phone, much better than the S II. Most likely S II won't get JB, even Samsung is tired of working on it.
So, +1 to your ideas.

There's a dual core exynos that runs better than the quadcore I don't remember the name, and thanks i'll take your advice and change the title
There's still some hope.
SGS2 isn't flagship device. however even if Galaxy Note would be promised JB devs will get some blobs.
If I remember also the Galaxy Tab 2 and 7" variants are Exynos means some support could be get from those.

Well if everybody has tons of money it's obvious!
Personally I bought my S2 a year ago and I don't have the money to buy an S3! I was so happy when they announced jelly bean, because I knew the S2 has a big community and I thought it would have seen JB soon, but now I'm realizing that the developers have abandoned our device! What can I say, I'm really really disappointed! I will never buy another non-nexus device! Never never never never! Just wait one more year, Samsung will release another super device, all the developers will move to that device (with the money that users donate....) and then the S3 will no longer be supported. I've already said it, and I'm gonna say it again, This is not the spirit of android!

Codeworkx is only working on i9100G I stalk his twitter a lot and that post is old but yea, we have to be patient and stop rushing the devs (If there r any still here)
But GT-I9100G is much easier to port since has a more open hardware, who would start from the hardest thing first and then leave the easiest for last? If it's easier you can get things done faster and later use the knowledge gained on the harder task.

I have noticed that lately that the international S4 has had wayyyyy more attention with their phone going far. Yes I understand that it is due to us having the locked bootloader that it is hard enough for people to get things done, but since we have loki shouldn't that be enough to at least dual boot? Now there are two different forms of dual booting with the international S4 and they have no want to be helping with our S4.
The first that came out was the MoDaCo.SWITCH as seen here. http://www.modaco.com/topic/364246-beta-2-modacoswitch-s4-i9505-support-topic/ Allowing you to boot the Stock TW and Google Play edition roms. With no help or support to allow other roms for it other than what is posted and provided.
Next is GraSwitcher Which can be found here.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2417600 Allowing you to pick both the TW and AOSP rom of your choice to boot. But here we have again no motivation to push it towards another brand besides the International i9500.
Why can't one of our Devs from the AT&T s4 do something special like this as well? Or build off of this idea to run the dual booting on our devices. It is the best solution to getting the TW camera when we are on AOSP. Is there any Dev out there that would wanna do this for our s4? I am just getting bored of this phone because there isn't any advancement on anything fun with this phone. Dual booting would allow so much more to be done with our phone and would make it all the more special. Since we have kernel access through Loki I don't see what the hold up is for our phone :/ Anyone else wanna give some input into this or give some +1 to get these features on our S4?
I think the problem is yes we have Loki but our bootloader is still locked which is the problem. Plus any OTA update breaks root and has hardened the bootloader. I believe the developers are working strong but the bootloader is making it hard.

Ha! Remember it well. I spent two years on the Skyrocket. At first, we were wishing we could get what the i777 had. After the first year, we hit a stride and they were scrambling to port our stuff to thiers. Just goes to show, a little time can change the whole picture. We'll get there.
Besides, I just got my i337 today, and learned it was compatible as a remote for my air conditioner! I have not even rooted yet, and I still feel like a pig in slop.

Yeah, I think just knowing a device is stock, people are automatically turned off to it. A majority of why people have switched from iOS to Android is they wanted the freedom of customization. Now that most people are on MF3, and there's LESS customization, people are 'hurt'. The Galaxy S 4, completely stock, even with TouchWiz, is still an amazing device. It still fully functions and is still very customizable. But once you use something long enough, and you know if well enough, it's not as enticing anymore. That's why there is less talk about the AT&T or Verizon S4. "Been there, done that". Flashing ROMs gives consistent change and customization.
I'm sure many developers are working hard on working around this and it's all greatly appreciated to the highest extent. But currently, this is the plateau of excitement for 'our' S4 until the devs make a break through.
You can bet that a few devs are all over this dual boot option, wait around, it will be available to us.
Forget dual boot. With a SS, we will have multi-boot. As many ROMs as we have space.

With the new "No contract and new phone every year" plans that are out, this is the result. With those plans, people will have to trade their old phones in for the new phones. Like you said, people get bored and want something new. I can understand why At&t would want the returned phones untouched. Maybe if they could just lock the trade-in no contract phones and leave the contract and full purchased phones uInlocked. But, 99% of consumers will never root or customize their phones. Which makes me wonder why At&t would care about the 1% that do.

Because they can. With T-Mobile doing the "Jump" program to allow customers to upgrade their device every 6 months, AT&T has to compete. T-Mobile customers don't need to root because they can just change devices. AT&T locks their device's bootloaders, forcing customers to want a new device, they think they'll make money on early upgrades/new contracts/cancellations to reopen for new devices.
There isn't much they can do.
It always pays to be patient.. we will see an unlocked bootloader one day.. unless you accidently update that is. someone will always step up to the plate and deal with things... unless when it comes to hacking firmware on kenwood decks :>( *offtopic*

We have a couple devs that work their ass off to bring us top roms and kernels glad to have them aboard or it would be completely dead..... but it doesn't seem like it was as popular as before..... Are people going away from android, Or just no that interested into flashing roms no more..... I really miss the old days that you will sign into your device thread "TMOBILE" for me and would have to decide which rom and kernel to go with for the week lol......

i've turned several rooted phones into t mobile for problems when they were rooted, and they couldnt care less about root or knox..
Where you MIGHT have an issue is if you send a phone into Samsung itself..
And, as far as dev for this phone, I think it will pick up some as more time passes; its really only been 30 days since the official release, but yeah, the note 4 had a few roms within the first few weeks it was released.
Frankly, I think that there are so many annoying N00bs buying Samsung phones, that alot of the top Dev's have stopped buying them and if they do, they just make roms for themselves and their close "friends"..
XDA has become a haven for the leeches, the "I expect answers and help immediately" crowd, and most of the top Dev's got sick of that nonsense and either went private or went to Nexus phones..
I think I might go nexus when its time to "jump" soon...

That's it in a nutshell I think - I've been using custom roms and kernels since the original Galaxy S1 came out, and people on here and other forums have got progressively ruder and more demanding with each passing year, to the point where many devs have given up.
The sense of entitlement to features and support for what is usually a hobby for devs is sickening sometimes.
Also, to be fair, I think devices are getting that powerful and good than custom roms aren't needed to the same extent. Even root isn't as essential as it once was.

Your last point is what I think the real reason is. Android has gotten good enough that only the power users are going to root and constantly room a device. The average to techy user just doesn't see enough reasons to root a device. If you ask me, it is a pretty good problem to have.

The only phones I've rooted and flashed were my Milestone and Captivate. Android hardware and software weren't exactly optimized at the time and performance wasn't great.
I've had my S3 for a good 3 years now and I never even rooted it. The performance was good enough that I never bothered. It only got slow with the most recent update but by now, the phone is 3 years old so I upgraded the hardware.
The other thing I didn't like about flashing is that once I did it, I often would have to flash again every other week because there was another update with fixes. It was hard to find something that I could flash and leave for 6 months or longer.
I will wish to jump to nexus if I can. My place or country rarely sell nexus. I didn't even see a real device my self. Only Samsung appear the most. My previous device was note 3, I do see the development slowing down. I hope the edge will have more developer since is a bit pricy and therfore, less newbie compare to s6
glad to see people are agreeing with me....... hopefully we could get a couple top devs back interested in developing some time soon
Another important factor is that Samsung is very closed source regarding their hardware, which makes it almost impossible for AOSP builds to run stably, especially on newer version of Android. Other vendors have made much more effort to support the developer community, so that's where the developers tend to head.
I dont know if I agree with that; my note 4 had/has several very nice and stable AOSP /cm12 based roms running 5.02 on it, but they were Snapdragon based, which may or may not be the difference when it comes to doing things with the Exnos processor..
I think you guys are forgetting that there are way more flagships from other manufacturers these days that are splitting the devs. Samsung used to be the king of the hill till HTC, Sony, LG and Motorola stepped up!
The Nexus is filled with lots of redundant roms which barely differentiate one from another.
When I owned the N5, I just left it at stock cause it was the most stable!

Samsung was never king of the hill. HTC has made killer flagships since before Android. They also made the first Android phone. HTC has had the majority of devs since Windows Mobile. HTC was the main reason for xda to even exist. You want more devs, buy a HTC phone.
I think the real reason that Samsung doesn't get more devs here is because of the following:
1 Touchwiz
2 Touchwiz
3 KNOX
4 Switch to Samsung SoC
5 Devs know which devices are truly better, and the majority don't go Samsung.
It's a shame that Samsung is going down a path that is not dev friendly, after all competition is a good thing. They do have some nice hardware. If it weren't for Touchwiz(bloated bunch of crap) lagging the UI and KNOX, they would get a lot of attention here. But then again, all they really care about is totally volume of devices sold(like crapple), not if they are well received here. KNOX gets them enterprise sales, bye bye sd card!
BMW used to be a great company when they made only a few hundred thousand cars each year. Now they are like everyone else, they pump out high numbers of crap. Samsung is going down the same path.

Windows Mobile is not what is in question here! HTC was pretty much the only manufacturer that mattered in those days for that platform.
Ever since the first Galaxy S, Samsung has been king of the hill.
HTC is ridiculous with the S-Off nonsense in the same way that Samsung is with KNOX. But at least the bootloader is still unlocked for most of the Samsung variants!
Sony contributes to AOSP and encourages development it seems. Motorola is back in the game for now at least with the Moto X line. LG has been doing great since the Optimus G. OPO stole away a bunch of developers as well.
Lot more options now in comparison...not to mention the other great Chinese phones like Huwei, Xiaomi, ZTE, Oppo, Lenovo and the Taiwan based Asus!

Samsung device + Exynos SoC = closed source, thus no fully functional AOSP or CM-based ROMs.
Hi,
I've owned every Samsung flagship and a few nexus's since the Samsung galaxy S2 days(currently own a note 4), And I've always enjoyed XDA (and Android obviously) as I could root and change ROMS and do what ever I wanted with the phone.
However, I learned my lesson when I got the Exynos varient S4 a couple of years ago. As many of you know, Exynos really lacks development with AOSP based ROMS. With my S4 while the Snapdragon varient had a working and stable CM ROM after a month, on the Exynos forums we waited for maybe a year until we got a sami-working CM, and even the last I checked, just to see if progress was made, I saw that those Exynos related bugs are still there(random audio problems, etc). Because I was smarter when I went for the Note 4 I made sure to get the Snapdragon varient and sure enough I'm enjoying CM since basically the phone came out while those with the Exynos note4 had to literally make a forum wide donation, recruit a random dev from xda, fund and buy him a device and since then I think only lately the've started getting some AOSP love(after months and months of dev, and still there are annoying bugs).
I have no idea if it's because Samsung won't share their Exynos sources or just because it's more difficult to develop with this SoC. However- If you are on XDA I can imagine you like having fun with ROMS. Maybe not everyone, but most of us like this site for a reason.
The fact is that I hated my S4 days as I could only choose TouchWiz ROMS(and they aren't that much different). This time, even if I'm not on CM, I can always flash TouchWiz: I have the option, and it's so very much different and not frustrating to be bound to only touchwiz.
The choice is yours, and if there was a snapdragon varient i'd tell you to pick it(..I still like samsung phones) but as it's only exynos..well, just like my S4, the note4, the S6 and basically every other Exynos device- you'd suffer from development.
good luck!
Edit: btw I was only talking about AOSP based development. For those of you that care about samsung updates more - you should know that samsung are treating their Note series very badly when it's related to updates. I didn't own a note2, or a note 3. But I have the note4 and I can promise you I've never owned a device that got treated as badly as this one. Maybe it's only the note4, no idea. But Lollipop update took months upon months to release and it was with many bugs. So far, we didn't get 5.1 as well, even though other Galaxy devices got it awhile ago. It seems like Samsung don't really like the Note series..
for more info just so you won't think I'm bashing for nothing: http://www.sammobile.com/2015/08/05/why-do-you-hate-the-galaxy-note-4-so-much-samsung/
**If you want Samsung to bring faster updates, and be more developer friendly, instead of buying the next phone and praise it- don't buy it and maybe they'll get the msg. personally I'm gonna go a non Samsung flagship next time and see if their attitude changes by the next note**

All this *****ing isn't changing a damn thing and Samsung isn't going to change something that people are whining about anytime soon. I am all for discussing the Note 5 and leave the comparisons to the Note 4 behind us. Whew I feel better now .
This is the same crap that went on with the Nexus 6. Smartphones are moving in this direction whether we like it or not. Removable storage and batteries are becoming a thing of the past. If that's what you want hang on to your old Note. Let's move on people and concentrate on the facts when the device gets in the hand of users. Which by the way, is starting to look stellar and will probably sell well.

Actually in not trying to be patronizing I realize that this is about the note5 and specifically about its processor. Yes he references other phones but that was to show similarities between the exynos soc and the snapdragon soc. In a much shorter post he said.
"If you like flashing roms and you like AOSP then you may be disappointed by Samsung choice of processor. It makes development a pain in the @$$. "Be Aware".
Instead of complaining about complaints, read, understand, and move on if you don't like it. The problem is that you're on xda. This IS the place to discuss possible development OR THE LACK THEREOF. Not that many people have the phone yet. And to be honest the real developers probably aren't going to waste money on the note 5 because of what the OP stated.

Yes but this has been true for all Exynos SoC devices for years, it shouldnt come as a shock to anyone who has been even slightly aware of XDA and samsung for the past 3+ years. It is brought up literally every time samsung launches a device with Exynos, literally every time, which seeing as every samsung release in the past year has had Exynos, this should be common knowledge at this point.
Just because something is true does not remove disdain. Murders happen every 5 minutes. This is true. But is it something that people like? I mean I don't have a note 5. Nor do I care to bash it. But I do find it funny that people who are logged into and are users of a site that can sometimes be referred to as power user central are mad because power users are complaining about something lost that they held dear to them.
I really don't think people are mad that they are complaining as much as it is the volume of which they are complaining that is wearing on people. I get it with every iteration comes change, and with every change comes complaints about the change but there comes a time when you just have to say fine " I don't like this change and so I will have to deal with it or find something else that tickles my fancy" and go on. We all knew weeks ahead of time that the removable battery and the sdcard was going by by. The leaks confirmed it. Like it or not it happened and it also turned out that the battery lost 220mAh which really people isn't that much of a loss and considering that the other improvements like (processor, ddr4 ram, LTE radio, 4.1 bluetooth, ect...) it very may well surprise you, and from the few threads and articles that I have read so far that seems to be the case. Now is it really or is it the way they have used their device, who knows. but I have owned ALOT of phones in my time and I have yet no matter which phone I owned did a battery swap yet even though I have been known to carry a spare at times.
I guess my suggestion to the people that really are pissed off about the changes, write a letter to samsung or something to that affect because I'm 99.9% sure *****ing about it here in the threads isn't doing a darn thing towards change. I could be wrong.
And again Im not flaming the people that are complaining its just my opinion...
I personally won't buy a note device to throw asop on it. While it's nice to have the option, you lose all the functionality you bought the note device for any way. Buy a nexus if you are overly concerned about being able to run CM/AOSP ect. A nice optimized TW rom is all i look for with a Note as is the case with my note 4.

First step to achieving that would be simply ignoring posts with titles like this one has. Lol
Is it just me or the fact that every Samsung handset is being released with an Exynos might be a good thing due to the fact that the Exynos itself might have a higher bounty to develop for?? :fingers-crossed:

Back to the days of the GS3, the problem was not that there is no devs but that there is no sources.
Even now, there is no completely finished lolipop ROM.
