Hello,
I replaced the digitizer and LCD on my 1st generation Nexus 7 with an apparently identical Hydis LCD/digitizer assembly. Now I am experiencing erratic behavior of the touch screen, some dead spots, scrolling registering as touch, etc.
Could this be a grounding issue that happens now because I did not properly put the unit back together? If so, which areas should I focuse on / cover with electrical tape to try and get rid of the issue?
Could this also be a software issue if the lcd/digitizer model is not exactly the same? The numbers below the "Hydis" markings are the same as on the original unit, but the numbers below the code bars are different. If so, is there a solution? Drivers? Calibration?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Turns out I had not fully reinserted the digitizer ribbon connector into the mobo clip connectors. The white lines on the ribbon connector should be exactly flush and parallel with the black part of the clip connectors, and you should hear/feel a light click when they get fully inserted. Works fine now!

Hello all,
My Touch HD slipped from my hands and ended-up flat on the screen... the screen does not have a scratch, the digitizer still works perfect, but the LCD underneath is broken, so I get a black screen. I can still access the Touch HD via my PC thanks to MyMobilier, though (so why do I complain, huh?!!)!
I ordered a replacement LCD in Hong-Kong (thanks ebay!), got the HTC Service Guide, managed to remove the antenna cover (tough!) and dismantle the whole thing. But NOW I AM STUCK with the 'bezel', i.e. the cover, screen, digitizer, LCD, and metal plate with bolts all apparently glued together.
Anyone faced the same problem? Anyone knows how to separate the LCD from the screen and digitizer?
Cheers,

Anyone can help with this???
I have recently replaced the screen in the Jade after dropping and cracking the previous screen.
After replacing the screen it turns and and all looks fine but the digistiser does not work?
I had some problems with the white clip (see photo) and removing/replacing the ribbon. Is this the ribbon that controls the digitiser? if so i guess this may be my problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated
Did you flip the cable after you placed the digitizer in the casing?
like this:
click
otherwise, the cable is upside down in the connector.
i had the same issue.
see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5720235&postcount=13
Did you do what marcell-o told you?
What was the problem?
i cracked my digitizer a while back, and ordered a replacement. i used double sided tape to install. the first digitizer worked great, except only the top 10% of the screen was not responsive (pretty much the width of the task bar) so i contacted the people i ordered the new screen from, and they just sent me a replacement. i installed the second digitizer, and this time none of the screen works.
i tried to make sure both times not to put the tape to wide so it doesn't overlap into the clear screen part, only the black, but could this be a tape issue? anyone else have trouble with installing where parts or entire screen didn't respond?
thanks for your help.
Are you sure you have the digitizer/lcd ribbon in all the way to the connector on the motherboard? When I first put everything back together when I changed a digitizer, touch didn't work at all for me initially. At first I thought I had a bad digitizer. Then I looked closely at the ribbon and connector, and there's some flaps that stick out to the side on the ribbon cable. Make sure you push the ribbon in until the flaps stop you from going any further.
I replaced my digitizer recently and when I put the phone back together and turned it on, the LCD looked different any thoughts or suggestions. I looked through some other threads but nothing described look like the problem I am having.
I guess the digitizer isn't original and polarizes the light in a different way, giving the strange optical effect.
Another issue maybe the digitizer is stuck tightly against LCD, try to put between the two a strip of thick adhesive tape around the edges, avoiding tight contact.
Or worst, maybe you damaged the LCD while disassembling, to verify this lift the digitizer and see if it looks the same or not without digitizer.
It looks as though it is a similar problem to * HERE *
I you go into your Web-browser and press the menu button, then view page info.
Look at the background (the webpage). What are the colours like?
I have samsung i9505 with broken screen after fall. I could hear phone booting, light at the front was working. I bought another full screen with frame and replaced the old screen. After replacement nothing changes, except for buttons at the bottom of the screen, they light after touch. What can be wrong? How to check this? Phone is identified by computer, I can look at all files.
It's possible the replacement screen is defective or the motherboard connection is loose or damaged.
