I have samsung i9505 with broken screen after fall. I could hear phone booting, light at the front was working. I bought another full screen with frame and replaced the old screen. After replacement nothing changes, except for buttons at the bottom of the screen, they light after touch. What can be wrong? How to check this? Phone is identified by computer, I can look at all files.
It's possible the replacement screen is defective or the motherboard connection is loose or damaged.

I cracked the Digitizer on my Aria and spent the past few hours replacing it. Upon boot, the LCD works fine as well as all hardware buttons, however now the touch does not work, I can press VERY hard on the screen and it kind of works, but for normal touches it does not. I was wondering what you guys thought, could it be a connection issue with the flex cable or a hardware issue with the Digitizer. I don't know if it matters, but there is also a slight gap between the Digitizer and the Body of phone now. Thanks.
David.

I watched that video and another to change it. The problem is now that I changed it, it's now unresponsive. It worked before with cracks. I think it may be defective and I plan on emailing the company I got it from tonight.
Nevermind
Figured it out. For some reason HTC made the phone lock the screen anytime the Proximity Sensor is covered. Kinda weird, considering my SGS only locks when on the phone app, but yeah, if anyone else has this problem, make sure the Proximity Sensor is lined up correctly with the holes for it in the glass.
Hi
I've dropped my HD2. Everything is working, including touch screen, I can unlock the phone, I can answer the call, but screen is black, not broken.
What should I do? Does the lcd screen replacement will be sufficient? In that case, could the screen be ok, but some other display "processor" could be dead? I'm asking because I'll try to this on my own.
Could simply be the lcd cable has slipped slightly but probably more likely an LCD replacement needed.
You need remove rear housing & have a look & make a decision from your findings/testing.
hello
I've got a little update - lcd screen is working well - I mean it displays the image, the only malfunction is backlit. Right now when i use flashlign I can actually see whats on screen. Do you have experience or think that backlit connection can be repaired? Do You have any schematics for hd2' lcd ?
I suspect new LCD required by sounds of it. LCD can not be stripped for repair so after basic inspection of external connection replacement is only solution & not expensive due to falling cost of HD2 parts.
Hi all,
I had a touchscreen issue (sometimes not working) in my HD2 so I ordered a new fabric screen+lcd assemby. I replaced it very carefully but now when I plug new lcd it is not working. Phone is working, buttons, vibration, hear the sound when turning on but there is only backlight on display and just shows black screen. I am sure that display is ok because I tried to put old one (wich was still working before replacement) and it has same issue (backlight works but display is black). Can you give me some ideas what is wrong ????
damaged lcd ribbon connector on mainboard or ribbon not being inserted fully or latched securely
Ty booting to bootloader ...
Help
The flex cable is not attached correctly or the main board is broken and before you close your phone try it. If you can't do this give someone your phone and he will recover for you.
The problem is sloved. I dissasambled all phone and fix it once again and now it works. Anyway I got another problem of white screen on my second device. Did anybody find a solution for white screen ever????

try with this link.
Yes I have read this before but I think that white screen problem is not sloved in this thread. But maybe I could be wrong.
I've got an issue with my D800 that I'd like some confirmation on. Since this afternoon, it's intermittently had a static filled screen. I've found that if I tap it a few times, it comes back to a normal screen. A few times, the screen has come up off center from what it normally is.
The digitizer looks to work 100% of the time. I'm confident that this is a hardware issue in that, if I reboot the phone, I have that static all the way through, from where the boot logo should be to my home screen.
My question is this: Is it the LCD or just the ribbon connecting the screen to the mainboard? My personal feeling is that if it were the screen, then it wouldn't intermittently come back. Also, reseating the ribbon is cheaper than replacing the LCD.
Any thoughts from those that have had this happen to them before?
Hello praetorzero,
Can you describe more about your "static" screen?
Do you mean like a noisy screen like old television displays?
Do you mean that one image like home stays the whole time on your screen?
By these both things you can try to reseat the ribbon but watchout that you don't move the ribbon too much because it can get bad.
It's true that it's an hardware issue. If you have warranty you can RMA it to let it be repaired. If you don't have warranty and the ribbon reseating doesn't work then you maybe can buy a LCD+Digitizer for like 80 euro or you might just sell your phone :/.

I can't post links yet, but let's try this anyway:: i.imgur.com/tPFHxJb.jpg
This isn't my picture, but this is exactly what my screen looks like when it's not working. If I rap the lower portion of the screen with my knuckle, it will either go back to completely normal or go off-center with the lower half of my homescreen represented at the top of the screen and the lower half static. Again, the digitizer works in the expected location, because I can still unlock the phone with my typical swipe.
Unfortunately, I bought this off of eBay, so there is no warranty. I'm on my own.
hi there just had my screen replaced and now i cant seem to turn my phone on
if i unscrew the casing the motherboard moves slightly and the phone turns on, trying to put the casing back on is impossible without the phone turning off again?

I'd go with the phone to a local repair shop and show them what happens.
Since it turns on when it's only in a certain position, it must me some faulty contacts.
When the screen was replaced they might have damaged something.
Was it done in a local repair store? If so, did you check the phone before accepting it back?
have you tried disconnecting front camera, ear-speaker or proximity/light sensor, camera or hardware button flex cable one by one, to check if problem persists? i believe thats may be connector related problem.
