Done a lot of googling on this issue and found something similar but not exact.
The issue is when I'm in landscape mode and using any keyboard apart from the stock one, I select text to copy and hit edit and the keyboard FCs.
Didn't have this issue on 4.3, have tried SwiftKey, TouchPalX, A.I Type etc... They all do it.
The stock keyboard is fine though.
I have tried a factory reset and the issue still persists, tried clearing all clipboard data and the issue still remains.
I will not root my device to solve this issue so hopefully someone knows WTF is going on.
Screenshot of the device info.

Yes, also tried flashing the stock O2 rom still the same issue.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Gave in and rooted my phone, what a waste of time that was, tripped the Knox counter for nothing guess I can't send in for any repairs now.
Used a note 3 cleaning script in twrp using the mega wipe option then flashed stock, problem still there. I also flashed XNOTE and still the same problem.
I can't get my head round this issue and why no one else is suffering the same.
Think I'll look around and see if there are any PIT files around for the phone as I guess that's my last option.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
If someone on 4.4.2 can see if they get this problem, download Swiftkey and download contacts+ for example, when you've set up contacts+ go to the SMS tab on C+, put your phone in landscape mode and start typing a text, hopefully your keyboard is in full screen mode with the text box, now highlight the text and select edit and that's where any 3rd party keyboard FCs.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
After thinking about it I do not think flashing a .PIT file will solve anything, it's probably a bug in 4.4.2, am I the only one who has this issue? or is there more of us....
If you guys could please test it, google keyboard also FC while in full screen landscape mode when you select text and hit edit.

This is what it looks like in full screen landscape mode.
Not my phone, pulled from google images.
Some apps do not bring up full screen landscape mode, ones that I know of are The Infinite Black and Contacts+ when typing a message.
Confirmed Keyboards that do not work.

So who has the file name or url from google?

I assume you are running a "custom" recovery (clockwork)? This is why it failed. Only way to install will be to flash back to stock recovery as someone above mentioned. Probably not even worth the trouble.

Yep. I think I will restore the stock recovery since I won't be doing any kernel/rom flashing for a while. Stock rom is very stable.

Do a nandroid backup in case of failure! This is only if u have softkeys which u can enable with the softkey enabler from the playstore on any AOSP rom.
Just use any root explorer app.Go to system/lib/hw and here find the "lights.find5.so" file and rename it to whatever u want in my case i did "lights.find5.so.zip".That will disable the capacitive button lights upon reboot.
For the buttons themselves head to system/usr/key layout/synaptic.....(has the name synaptic in it and it's the only one).Copy this to ur computer for backup purposes if u didn't do the nandroid already. Now open it as a text file and delete everything inside.Save and reboot.
Hit Thanks if u .....u know.....

Does anyone have a working solution for AOKP 4.3? When I rename the lights.so file, it also breaks a lot of other things. For example, when I send my phone to stand-by, the screen doesnt turn off but remains backlit.

Did you manage to fix this problem?
I had the same thing happen to my i9500 after reloading stock firmware. I had a backup of the EFS folder and after restoring it I still got pop ups from the factory test.
I checked the factoryapp file and it was already set to on. I changed permissions on the file using root browser (basically selected all the check boxes), rebooted and factory test stopped coming up and my lock screen and reboot screen was back
If you already fixed the problem ignore post LOL

I would suggest dirty flashing another custom Rom etc cleanrom but your bootloader is not unlocked and if you unlock it you will lose all you data..I don't have much knowledge but I would use Titanium backup, back up my files and afterwards do a factory reset, if that does not work a custom Rom or flashing a new factory image

If your Nexus7 is set to a different language than English, you might find yourself in the same situation, every now and then.
The solution is to revert the language to English, power down the tablet and restart it.
You may then switch back to the language you had before.
worked - thanks

I'm curious why this is needed? You can simply choose not to have those shown when you edit the quick settings menu? Excuse my ignorance but I'm trying to find why this is an problem?
I'm also interested in how you got the "Mobile Data" option to show up b/c by default it is not an option at least on ATT S6, S6E models.

It's needed because not every variant allows you to remove them using the quick settings. Why don't you just use the quick settings to enable the "Mobile Data" option? Exactly.
I see, that makes sense, I was under the impression you can change those quick settings by all variants.
The mobile data option is not available to choose. Apparently ATT has decided to remove it. I was unable to find a CSC option to turn it on. There is a way to turn off mobile data but it requires a few more clicks to get there. Not sure why they did this but I guess you can say the same for those carriers that don't allow you to remove or change the quick settings.
I found this video explain how to do it yourself with excellent and clear instruction no app or anything https://youtu.be/W_0B_xASkq4
Easy way to remove it it to change your build.prop product name to zeroltevzw since Verizon doesn't have it on their roms. Might change your LTE icon upon reboot unless you have certain lines in your csc file.
