Hey guys, I was a older nexus user and after getting many phones(I have a sensation) I'm getting a nexus again. I'm trading my senny for nexus S and a Samsung infuse 4g.
So why are you guys still with the nexus? Reasons?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Because I can't afford another phone. Lol. Well part of the reason. I actually enjoy the community support and see no other reasons to upgrade. My phone does what I need it to without any problems. My next phone will be a GNex, but I'll probably run this thing into the ground before then. At least I'll have saved up enough by then.

That's cool. For spem reason, this phone looks amazingly sexy. And in hand it feels the best than any other phone
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
I quite like my nexus, but the main reason is, that there is nothing extraordinary about new phones.
My nexus can perform smoothly, any task i need to do( i don't play games).
I'll upgrade at the end of the year,
hopefully till then , they will be able to sort the battery life and use more efficiently front panel,
to fit screen.
I'll would love, to have bigger screen, although not at cost of carrying mini tablet in my pocket.
Because I am not a fool that constantly goes out and buys the latest and greatest phones for a big e-peen.

+1 This phone is smexy! Plus, I really don't see a significantly better speed increase on my friend's GNex... They do everything at roughly the same speed!
guys, what is a good extended battery that is under $20 or $15 that is good and doesnt need a different battery door?
1. cant afford
2. dont want to leave you guys behind (did that twice to others already)
3. it works!!! isn't that all you need?

I use a galaxy tab for my larger screen fix, so I prefer the smaller size and weight of the NS, not to mention the it's superb performance.

Just buy a spare. Those cheap extended ones aren't really that much better in performance from reports I've seen online. You can't bump up the maHs without increasing the size of the batteries just yet.

I've seen anker on sensation and it bumps up like 40% and I found a anker for nexus. Wonder if it works

1. Awesome development and community support
2. NFC/Wallet. It's cool to pay with your phone.
3. It's beautiful and it works.
4. Contract still not up yet .
The nexus has the best form factor of any phone to date. Its kind of a shame all the manufacturers are moving towards making giant phones.

Hey guys!
I am planning to buy a HTC One or a S4. (Oh another of those comparisons)
Well, the One is sold at SGD 488 (USD 385) for the 32 GB version, while the S4 (GT-I9505) is sold at SGD 578 (USD 457) for the 16 GB version.
Is the S4 really worth the extra price and lesser storage space?
I only have 8gb SD cards around, I care for heavy gaming like MC4 and GTA VC and good ROMs. I also take pictures and videos quite often, and I DO care for a SUPERSMOOTH UI and GREAT BATTERY LIFE.
Which should I get? Thanks in advance.

I don't own the HTC One, but I just hate its ugly face with the 2 ugly speakers on the top and on the bottom. Even its build quality seems to be what some people call "metal Premium"(that always make me laugh), its performance and its uni body design just doesn't appeal me. However it seems that its screen and its camera are very good.
Battery wise you can always get a second battery and a dock. This way you'll always have a second fully charged battery with the Samsung.
With the HTC, you'll have to rely on the charge of a single battery and/or frequent chargings.

I understand that the Nexus is very cheap and affordable when bought from the Play store, but in my country Singapore, it is not that cheap as there is no Google Play services available here apart from the app market.
Thanks for the suggestion though..

I have had the Nexus 4 too and in smoothness and speed when opening apps and widgets it is much faster than the S4. But then the N4 doesn`t have a 7GB rom + features But i missed some very usefull features offered by Samsung that i like to use and after a while i found the Nexus 4 a bit boaring. So overall i would say that the S4 is not fully worth the price of 650 euro`s that for 369 euro`s the Nexus 4 is a very good phone and offers the latest updates by Google.

I run all my games flawlessly, a little lag happens rarely sometime, but globaly, it runs everything perfectly. I have the i9500 octacore. I don't try the i9505 one. From all the review and test I saw, i9505 suffer from little lag using Air features and has less fps in games. I tried Zombiewood(gameloft) on i9505 and i9500, when there are a lot of zombies who appear, the i9505 become really laggy whereas the i9500 still run flawlessly.
Well I am quite satisfied with mine.. I must say that it is fast enough and even faster with custom roms and kernels...
Camera is pretty good... Not in the dark but then again does not matter much
Quality of video is great and the sound is okay..
I have had an HTC before and it was okay but so sadly built...
The screen here is great... I have no problems with mine

Off topic.. I used Sony for years.. Love their design and UI... Which is why I have modded the stock message app so it has the smileys from Sony.. Just wanted to share as I saw your username
On topic... I use faux kernel and deodexed AME2 rom... There are custom roms but I loose my LTE no matter what I do, with the deodexed rom from djembey I can mod it as I want and I have pretty good battery life... All that can be black on my screen is black almost. As amoled don't use power on blacks

I went for the S4, decided that I needed the 13 MP camera. Can we change the speed of animation to be faster (when opening apps, switchong between apps, etc) to be like the One's? I hate the speed of the S4, makes the phone look slow when it is not.

I've been wanting a Nexus device for some time now, but I'm on a budget. I found an unlocked Nexus S for $80 and was wondering if it's still a good phone and worth the money.
Sent from my MB886 using xda premium
Well the Nexus S has been updated to 4.1 JellyBean so if you are on a budget and want the latest software this is the phone for you afterall 4.2 is still JellyB so the compatibiliti is verry good. I have a friend that has a S1 witch is the same hardwar wise but the same roms on nexus work way better than in S1. It's the best single core out there. If the hardware interests you more and not the software then you could uy a weaker dual core that dosent have the nexus xda suport....it's up to you

Yes. It's worth about $150 if you're considering the overall features you'll get, especially the sound quality via headset jack with voodoo sound.
If you're not going to root the device, it's not worth the buy.

To you lucky people who already have the new Nexus 7, does it really feel loads better than the first generation N7, and how? Here in Europe we won't be getting this for a while yet it seems, so I can't find out for myself.

Depends on you really.
with the build quality, and more efficient CPU, more RAM, thinner, lighter, better feel in my hand. it was a no brainer for me

Agreed, no brainer here either. Better everything, including build. And for the price, for me it's more of a why not.
Although the Note 8 is a pretty damn good tablet all around.
Having a better screen and speakers that are actually useable makes all the difference for me. The build quality seems better to me. I sold my first gen Nexus 7 on ebay months ago because I couldn't watch things on it or listen to music without headphones. Upgraded speed is also a big plus.
I would say yes.
The 4.2 update for the nexus 7 was really bad but the 4.3 update fixed alot of that. That said the new nexus 7 has a great screen and performs much better than the previous model even with the 4.3 update.
IMO, yes. Definitely worth the upgrade for me.
The speakers is what I love about the new 7!

I dropped my old N7 a couple months ago so I've been dying for another e-reader. bought a nook HD+ and quickly returned it since the build on it is crap.
So glad I ended up returning it in the return window because this tablet blows it out of the water and it isn't even a competition. It's an upgrade in every conceivable way to the older N7: physical specs including feel and build quality, software, and hardware.
This is one of those updates where literally everything is upgraded almost across the board, and considering my old N7 was having serious lag issues, it was a no-brainer upgrade for me. There isn't anything that is immediately at another level than the old N7, but when so much is upgraded and refined (screen, speakers, no lag, RAM, processor, build quality) I personally couldn't resist.
I also had the 8 GB N7, and even though I don't use much internal storage at all that was still too little, so moving up to 16 GB should help a lot.
I used my original all day every day for business and then reading at home.
This model is certainly snappier and the added resolution really helps for docs etc during a meeting.

Yes, there is no real comparison between the two. It is a full on sequel in every way.
It is that much better. Screen is amazing, and sound is amazing, so loud, camera still sucks' back camera sucks,. If you have the original nxus 7 its a decent upgrade.,, I returned mine. Will wait for nexus 7 3.
Its pretty good. Screen is nice and the speakers are much louder. Its a good bit faster as well.
I'm still on the fence about whether it is worth it tho.
Both my 7's are on 4.3 if that matters.

Hey,
I've owned a one x for almost a year now and with its intense usage I came to notice that the phone is getting worse. Heat problem is the biggest one together with minor damage getting worse on the device.
A nexus 4 is only 300 euros in Germany so I'm thinking about buying one. Are there any people around that know if German phone would work in the Netherlands?
It has the same processor speed I think but the nexus has the stock android look and gets updated regularly.
Any advice is welcome

Honestly, the One X is kind of a failed phone. It has the potential but does not use it fully. The Nexus 4, on a daily usage (opening apps, tweeting, fb, instagram and such) shown to be faster then the SGS 4. So yes, it would be a huge update. And I wouldnt bother waiting for the 5th Nexus. I would by the N4 and when time comes, i'd switch
Thank you so much for your time and advice. I might check a few stores here and there in Germany this weekend. All I need to know now is if it would work in the Netherlands

My N4 was definitley an upgrade over my S3 and I would consider the S3 a much better phone over the One X.
But the N5 will definitley be an upgrade over the N4.

The N4 basically obliterates any older phone like the One x. But yeah, I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as you have GSM carriers operating on the appropriate bands, plus you're already using the One X.

Wait until the nexus 5 is announced. If its the same price and you get it in your country go that route.
One x is a more than capable phone to hold out at least to Google makes its new nexus announcement.
I recently changed from a One X to a Nexus 4, and it was a huge upgrade. The smoothness and speed of the Nexus 4 was such a big change I couldn't believe it at first. Highly recommended.
I switched from a HTC One X+ to the Nexus 4. The one x+ was supposed to be a faster version of the One X, and the Nexus 4 was still miles better than that! So you'll definitely notice a huge difference. The The Nexus 4 is just really smooth, no lag, and no extra rubbish on top
One Xs is a very good phone if you can put custom rom one it,. But otherwise I'd say skip the Nexus 4 and get the Nexus 5 when it's released which is soon.
