Nosker, thx for your insists on the device! We really appreciate that!
I have four DVPs here, one bricked, others are normal. I could help but I don't have Riffbox,
If you're sure that riffbox can work on DVP, I can buy one. Because I have worked on the bricked DVP
for some time, and already found JTAG pins on board, even read device ID out by a cable and program
that are made by myself!
So I think I have conditions to help, will you please give me more information about your work?

Actually I already get JTAG PIN definition on board of DVP, and successfully get ID information from JTAG port, I can send you
pic of definition if you want.
I saw that mofotech send you a DVP, did you get it? if you get both DVP and riffbox, I think it is time to dive in JTAG. right?

You got both DVP and riffbox in hand, right? Then let's make things clear:
1. Is the DVP mofotech send you working or not?
2. If it is working, you can get working full dump by yourself;
3. If it is not, please make sure that:
a. riffbox can connect to DVP and get ID info etc.
b. riffbox can read flash memory of DVP.
If you verified a&b, I'd like to buy a riffbox to get a working full dump.
Thx!

Guys, here's my JTAG connecting, ugly but useful, hope it helpful...
Hej Guys,
I normally used my Nexus 4 - then it´s shut down(used hells-core + slimbean).
Now nothing will work(no normal booting, no fastboot and no charging etc) - only when I try to connect it with my PC the N4 wants to install drivers(QHSUSB_DLOAD anything).
Any ideas from your side, how to solve the problem?

I know when I had a sensation if your phone got in that mode it ment u bricked it. They can't tell what is on your phone cause that mode is used to flash firmware by manufacturers. Send it in and they will reflash it for you and send it back. Dont tell them u rooted it or unlocked it or flashed a ROM/kernel.

It depends on if they can bring the board back. If they can then they will see that and may charge you for the repair but the chances are slim.

I would say more like 95/5 That they wont see it. It is really hard to bring the board back. If they do it depends on them. Could be cheaper to get new device but wouldnt count on them seeing it.

Alright, I'm an idiot and should leave the hacking to the hackers. I've managed to hard-brick my RAZR M. It acts like it has no battery.
I thought hmmm... if the bootloader unlock exploit targeted the TZ (TrustZone) partition and the OTA patched out the TZ exploit, maybe I can downgrade the TZ partition to bring it back! So like the idiot that I am, I "dd" the old tz.mbn into /dev/block/mmcblk0p7. Attempted to reboot to see what would happen, and well, brick happened. So yeah, don't do that.
Anyway, is there a way to JTAG it back, or is my only recourse to use it as parts to fix a phone with a cracked screen or something?
Also, I'm not smart enough to know why it won't boot with a downgraded TZ partition. Is a hard-brick what happens when the "chain of trust" is broken? Could it have worked had I downgraded every single partition involved in the chain of trust, or am I super far off base?
What exactly do you mean when you say it acts like it has no battery?
Try hooking it up to the computer and quickly press all 3 buttons to get to the boot menu. If you can, go into AP Fastboot and RSD a stock image back to stock everything.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
It pretty much acts exactly like a phone from which the battery has been removed. Dead as a doornail.
No power, no lights, holding buttons does nothing, plugging it into USB does nothing, holding buttons while plugging into USB does nothing. Can't get into AP Fastboot, nor do any USB devices ever show up to run RSD. Zero signs of life whatsoever.
Either make or buy a factory cable/adaptor .... Its.not hard to make or team black hat has them for $10usd
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
Just read up on them, I'm not sure if it'll work for me. Team Black Hat's twitter says it just bypasses the phone battery and allows it to be powered from USB. Sounds like it would mostly be useful for phones whose battery died during the flash. I might try it anyway, but my phone had 100% battery when I tried to reboot it.
Use it to flash the stock firmware... It should recognize the battery after that
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
I tore apart a mini-to-micro adapter and wired up pin 4 to pin 1 as this tutorial shows.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-labs/146492-how-why-make-your-own-motorola-factory-cable.html
Verified +5V on both pin 1 and 4.
Nothing.
I think to get into AP Fastboot or even for the bootloader to launch, it probably requires an unbroken chain of trust and my downgraded TZ partition breaks the chain so it doesn't even try to start the bootloader. Just guessing though.
I've been searching around... Can't really find much to assist with this... You may be able to get some help from the higher up's if you message them...
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for searching. I'll probably end up looking for a phone with a smashed screen on ebay and swap the motherboard. Maybe I could get lucky and find one that's never been updated, though I doubt that.
Can't help but wonder if I'd flashed every single partition involved in the chain of trust if that would have worked to downgrade. Dangerous thinking. I'd best stop thinking about it or I'll end up with another bricked phone.
After months of my phone being bricked, I decided to plug it into USB and the green light came on and it shows signs of life. No picture on the display, but it shows up as USB Input Device, shows as "HID-compliant" in device manager. Hardware ID is VID_05C6, PID_F006. All I could find is the VID belongs to Qualcomm. Any ideas?

Sorry, my Google-fu is not as good as yours. Searching for that VID and PID only comes up with an XDA thread on an HTC Unbricking Project in the Evo 4G LTE section. Google has zero hits linking either VID or PID with "RAZR M". Everything I've read about unbricking requires the phone to be able to get into Fastboot AP.
Tried Bing too, but my Bing-fu is worse than my Google-fu.

My problem is similar, but not exactly the same. I don't get "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008", just "HID compliant device", but I know it's Qualcomm just from the VID.
At bottom of the thread is just a link to a JTAG unbricking service for $50. Is that the solution you're referring to?
If that's the only solution, I'll try a motherboard swap first. It's half the price.

I thought that was the same....
Not up on the subject. I know cellzealot is, on that thread.
The problem is that we don't have the signed images for the low level boot ram downloader for these models available to us.
I helped someone fix their hard bricked Moto X but we were only able to do that because the boot loader repair kits for that chip set were included in some of the leaked engineering firmware builds for those devices. Those kits have the bin and hex files and a .bat script that writes the images to the raw QC flash device that allows it to be enumerated as an Android fastboot device and flashed normally with signed firmware images.
Unless we get those repair kits or find all of those components in the wild, we can't recover these phones from a hard brick.
FIXED! But not in a "good way" that's helpful for the community.
I bought one with a cracked screen on eBay and swapped my screen onto it. The screens are still quite expensive for these phones (~$90) so cracked screen versions go pretty cheap. Paid $26 shipped for mine which is on the high-end, most went for ~$20 shipped but I'd miss the auctions for one reason or another. This one also was in nicer shape than mine which was worth the extra $6 to me. Although I later came to find out it takes a good deal of heat and force to get the screen out of the metal bezel since the rubber glue adhesive Motorola uses is DAMN STRONG, not like the 2-sided tape from my iPhone fixing days. Didn't want to risk cracking my good screen trying to swap it into the nicer bezel so I just swapped the entire screen/bezel assembly. Super easy.
Worst part, 98.18.78. BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Oh well, nothing gained, and only $26 lost.
Any reason at all to keep it on 78 and not upgrade to 94?
just curious if anyone has played with qpst while in qhusb (?) mode i know the qpst software has the ability to flash to devices in this form of download mode if someone were able to recover a device with it then the next thing on my mind would be can we downgrade with it to a version that could be bootloader unlocked. i'd try it myself but its very risky to try on a device thats perfectly good. but perhaps... one with a broke screen or otherwise scrap would be perfect to mess around with
QPST didn't seem to notice the existence of my phone when it shows up as a "Qualcomm USB Input Device".
Part of it could be it won't stay on for very long, not even using the USB cable I bought that's supposed to be a Motorola factory cable.

Thanks for all helpings. I changed the charger and the usb cable also but nothing happen (i mentioned that). So maybe the thing is battery.

Heya,
It seems like my usb connector is busted (or the entire daughterboard. i'm not sure) but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience replacing just the connector?
The phone still charges via usb, but when i plug it in, it says that the USB device has malfunctioned and it won't connect to the computer. I don't know if this is a daughterboard failure or just a port failure.
i'm hoping to find a way to replace the part without having to remove the screen if it is even remotely possible..
any advice?
Thanks
It looks like you need to remove the screen to replace the USB port. The part is probably quite inexpensive and unless your soldering is extremely good then I'd just replace the whole thing. I did it in my Note 3, that was easy, but never done it on my Note 4.
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+Note+4+Micro-USB+Port+Daughterboard+Replacement/35006
yeah, my biggest worry is that if i have it done by someone, they would crack the screen and a $65 repair will turn into a $300 repair....
Device modified in any way? Knox tripped?.....If not then (in the EU at least) Samsung provides a 2 year warranty......
It *could* be argued that the usb port should be expected to last for the full 2 years at least......
Check your paperwork/warranty card and try for warranty repair.

Tried different cables, different pc, factory reset, reinstall driver and other possible fixes that I can find on the net but still can't get it recognized on pc. I sent the phone to some repair shop to replace the usb board but the outcome is still the same.
I've bought the phone as a used unit and straightaway updated it OTA to Marshmallow. It is possible that I got a bad firmware?

unfortunately not yet. I'm still waiting for the part to arrive.
I might pay someone to do it for me, but other than that, i'll have to just try my luck.
I don't know about firmware because my issue cropped up randomly and I've been on this rom for over 3 months. so i think it's more of a port or board failure.
One thing *might* come in to play with the replacement......
On both the S2 and the S5, there were/are several versions of the board for each device.....none of them are interchangeable.
If Samsung follows previous form, this may well be the case for the Note as well.

yup! indeed that was what was holding me up. I have the N910C and no repair shop in the US has that board, so i have to order it from China....

But....If it follows the Samsung pattern, there will be more than one version of that board for the N910C......
Going back as far as my experience with the S2, my device was the international variant, and i discovered that just for that one device, there were 4 different versions of the board.
They were....
REV1.2, REV2.2, REV2.3 and REV2.4....
I had to get the matching version otherwise it led to problems like reduced/loss of signal, otg failure, data transfer failure......The list went on and on....

oh if you're talking that specific, then no there's no problems that I know of about specific revisions.
If there was it would be all over ebay with different revisions of the boards.

Um....done a little ebay research and for the F variant, I've seen 4 different revisions (so far)........
0.6, 0.8, 0.9 & 1.8
I think getting the right one is gonna be critical if, as I said before, it's the same 'pattern' as with previous devices.....

I looked up the N910C variant and there's no revision.
and looking up the F variant.. I don't see any revisions as you said either: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...+usb+board.TRS0&_nkw=n910f+usb+board&_sacat=0
I went into a random selection of listings and zoomed in on the images.....
The printing on the black ribbon cable is where I saw the revision information....
