You can go back to 4.3 but you need to have root access and removed KNOX then flash the 4.3 Firmware.
Or try to Wipe/data factory reset & cache partion

OK. Try To Remove KNOX Then Flash
(But Some Times KNOX Maybe The Reason)
try to test the device after removing KNOX

1. Knox will not be removed, only the related apps.
2. Once the official 4.4 firmware is flashed, its not possible to get back to official 4.3
Because, by flashing official 4.4, the bootloader will be updated. Once its updated, there's no way to downgrade the bootloader.
The only way to get back to 4.3 is to flash a 4.3 customrom via recovery.

Hello guys,
I recently flashed Wanamlite 3.0 and I wish to flash stock 4.2.2 .
what should I do to get it to work properly again? Doing that because I need to send the device to the lab. I want my phone as I bought it in the first day- unrooted.
thank you all.

Hi,
You should be fine to flash 4.2.2 , if the ROM you are on does not contain the knox bootloader.

You were very helpful. Thank you.
I have Galaxy S4 international i9505 and I am on old bootloader without knox. I installed OMEGA 19 and I decided to go back at Stock 4.2.2 so I downloaded firmware from sammobile for my country code (XEF) and flashed it with Odin. I had problem with wifi so I also flashed wifi fix for I9505XXUBMEA wich is the ROM I believe it was the stock one as I made no backup before flashing custom
I rooted flashing CF Autoroot and installed Triangle Away and Wanam.
Also changed CSC to XEF with CSC Changer from Play Store
The problem is that I cannot get OTA as no matter how many times I try with Wanam Xposed, system status always goes to Custom.
Also despite having flashed old stock memory and bootloader there seems to be a knox store and a knox app in my applications list.
I want to get back to official and be able follow Samsung updates as I am going to sell the phone and the buyer wants official 4.3 and Knox 0x0
Can someone tell me what am I doing wrong because I followed every guide in XDA??
Forgot to mention that Triangle Away shows Binary and System Official but Device information does not!
Also Kies tells me that there is an update. Should I install it from there or will it trigger knox??
Do hav any custom recovery installed
No custom recovery. I have the recovery that was flashed with Odin though I am currently searching how to ectract recovery from firmware and flash it again
Reflashing any stock rom would make u recieve ota updates bt I cant say about knox
Hit thanx if I helped
I allready flashed stock 4.2.2 but I cannot get device status to official. Thanks anyway
Bt I think the files ur flashing after flashing stock firmware are creating the prblm of ota ....jst flash again some firmware nd dont even root and see whether u r getting ota updates r not

I finally downgrade my S4 I9500 from stock 4.4.2 to stock 4.2.2 just follow this:
1. download galaxy s4 i9500 south africa rom 4.2.2 from Sammolbile (I9500XXUBMH1) to be specific).
2. use odin 3.09 to flash it.
3. enter in reconery mode and make a factory reset and Done.
*the only thing is that it stays custom but that doesnt matter you can flash another official rom later.

And you dont have problems with wifi, battery drain, no sound, random reboots, etc? Lucky guy then :highfive:

I confirm this. I just downgraded from 4.4.2 to 4.2.2
I was using Omega 19 till yesterday. Today i went mad and was switching b/w different ROMS. here is the story:
Installed AICP ROM 4.4.2, i didn't liked the ROM very much so i went back to old MIUI rom (miuiandroid_multi_ja3g_4.1.3_jb-4.2). Then just for a check, i copied I9500_Omega_v14.1_UBUBMH1 and flashed. Yep It did work. Here is the screenshot.
hi guys, where can i download the I9500XXUBMH1 firmware ,I cant find any work link.
and is this firmware locked?
thanx for reply

From which 4.4.2 stock firmware exactly did you downgrade? What about Knox Kernel Lock and Warranty Void when you boot into download mode? I reckon they are still there and both are set to 0x1, right? Could you post a screenshot please? Thanks.

I rooted my phone then....added (flashed) the 4.2.2 modem to it. Then flashed the 4.2.2 firmware. You will have to extract the modem from the firmware. Just add the extension .rar to the firmware name ( rename it) eg. 'Tar.md5.rar' and extract modem.bin. use odin to flash it to your phone. Use PDA OPTION TO FLASH MODEM FILE. Then flash your 4.2.2 firmware. Factory reset and wipe cash before phone starts up. However.....no sound...no wifi. ..have to find a work around this. Will let you all know when I figure it out.....Contact me at [email protected].
Flash the modem again and you should have your issue resolved. Sometimes the flash doesn't fully take, and it might have something to do with the S4 storing a backup of the modem.
hello
i need downgrade 4.4 to 4.3 via odin and 4 files
please help me
I think device will probably reject it if you try to downgrade from 4.4 to 4.3 because of bootloader, but not sure, but surely it happens when you down to 4.2
1. Firmware you can find in sammobile
2. If it fails, the only way is recovery flash CWM package
it will fail, i have i9500 and it failed from 4.3 to 4.2.2, and from 4.4.2 to 4.3.....and i think the two devices are the same in terms of knox
I was successfully flashed 4.3 after 4.4.2... downgrade from 4.4.2 to 4.2.2 failed...
sent using voodoo magic
you can downgrade but you need to remove KNOX
You can write how you did it.
I tried and received an error. Luckily managed to get back to 4.4.2 and the phone works. What ROM and what Odin. Please help me.

Hi there! Its been a while, haven't posted since some troubles with my Epic 4G.
I've been trying to go back to stock ROM from [NAE][4.4.2] Negalite WondeROM X but since its NAE I think it tripped Knox flag. The ROM ended up with some weird errors (something about android.process.acore, which I tried to fix to no avail clearing data, uninstalling apps, etc). I tried to go back to a previous stock ROM. ODIN did not want to flash the ROMs, always failed at write operation. I don't know whats the best process to follow, and whether I should flash modems, firmware, etc...
Some guidance on how to restore to a stable stock ROM so I can then flash a custom ROM based on the stable ROM installed. Thank you!

Thanks, I'm trying (again) the stock NAE since every time I choose an older one it failed miserably.
Tried it from my laptop this time, it worked! Got stock again.
What would be the procedure to go to a custom NAE ROM now that its KNOXed...?
Yeah ,like I said if you had already updated your device to 4.4.2 there is no going back to anything previous as it will fail.
Awesome. Worked. Rooted and used wanam. Thanks a lot!

You should be able to flash any 4.4.2 custom rom. Just check out the rom threads and read through them.
Here's one that's pretty solid.
