I want to root my Galaxy Note 3 with Odin. But my pc doesn't recognize the MD5 file that I need to do this. (I use a version of Odin with "PDA" button.) I have installed multiple programs that say that they can read/recognize MD5 files, but none of them work.
I have still windows XP and you know the picture of an unrecognized file. Can't post a picture of that.
Which program does recognize a MD5 file so I can root my Note 3? Or who knows a solution to solve this?
I almost bricked my phone.
Got this:
RECOVERY BOOTING...
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit: recovery
PS English is not my main language.
Why are you trying to get any program other than ODIN to recognise the md5 file?

Windows recognizing the file has nothing to do with bricking your phone, the two systems are not even related... md5 is an ODIN file. You don't need windows to extract, mount or read it. It's not a Windows file....
I think you need to realize that Windows and Android do not share file systems. You don't need to be able to read an .md5 or .apk or .obb on Windows to use it on Android. It's an unknown file format because Windows has no use for it.
You just need to browse to the .tar or .md5 file in Odin --> PDA. Nothing more, you don't need to extract or read it. That's ODIN's job.
You also need to search for the error you got. There's about 500 threads on it, with the solution. Start with this one, for instance: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2622254 It has nothing to do with windows.

Why did it get wrong when I have everything as in the video that I followed? Why did I get a blue box instead of a yellowbox in Odin? Why did I get the Seandroid enforcing warning when I put the md5 file in Odin and hit start? Why is my phone still not rooted and has Knox 0x1?
Download the right file, 4.3 or 4.4. Everything else has been said already.

I am not the search bar, nor am I Google.com....
That post from XDA is not working for me. I don't have Kitkat and I don't have CWM.
If I put the MD5 file into Odin (at the PDA button) the options are greyed out. I can't change them. Auto reboot is checked, even as F reset time. I can't uncheck that. The video says I must uncheck that. And the box doesn't get yellow, but blue.
Can you show me wich tutorial you followed ?

I can't post links. But it is the youtube video from Qbking77 (Tim Schofield) "How to root the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 [All variants]"
And is it nessacary to offence (hurt) me?? No its not, thank you.
I have an Odin working with open options (not greyed out), but in that Odin he can't find the MD5 file anymore. Grrrrrr, i'm so sick of this.
Can it be that when I dial *#1234# I only get AP / CP / CSC instead of PDA / PHONE (and CSC)?
Will it work with a Odin who has BL / AP / CP and CSC? And in that Odin variant: where do I have to put the MD5 file?

AP.... But it should work on any version of ODIN... I tend to use cf-autoroot with ODIN 1.85 and that works well....

You're opening the tar file at that point. If it says it's an invalid size or something you're extracting to far. If you download a .7z or .zip just right click it and hit extract. You should end up with a .tar or .md5. That is what you will select in Odin.
If there is power (lights, partial boot) it is not bricked. A bricked phone is completely dead. Your phone is soft-bricked.
The advice above is correct. Stop when you get to .tar and put it somewhere you know where it is to put in the PDA slot in Odin.
And please follow forum rules and post your question once and wait for an answer. Do not make more threads for the same problem. Thanks.
My phone is stuck on firmware on "upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again."
I tried Kies 3 and it doesn't recognise the phone. I tried different firmwares the invalid .4ext error and says the file too big 475000 < 512000 something among those lines. I read that I will need to re-partition the memory with .PIT file for the note 4, which is no where to be found on google. I hope someone will be kind enough to extract the .PIT file from their phone and post it here.
Cheers,

I tried many way nothing happen i cant use odin fail in everything i try to flash with rom or recovery. and now phone keep restarting and i cant wipe data?? anything i add or delete after restart go back like before like nothing happen?????
Guys I tried flash latest Sweden and have same problem size too big and ext4 failed, then I flash Philz recovery and voila phone booted everything its ok!!!
If you download a stock Samsung ROM, remove the .md5 from the end of it, and then extract the archive, you should find the PIT file in there.
I've not had to do it myself, because I'm using an S4 at the moment and was able to get a PIT file download on its own. So I can't verify 100% that it will be there, but I read it in a thread somewhere that it is.
Give it a try..

Thanks, but no pit or xml for pit inside the zip...
And how to use it with Odin 3.10? With Re-partition checked? Can you do a how-to?
Thanks
Load newest drivers for device from:
http://www.samsung.com/support/downloads
To completely flash the device, in ODIN v3.10, Simple load all four parts into there designated slots:
"BL" = BL
"AP" = AP
"CP" = MODEM
"CSC" = CSC
Then check to re-partition, nand erase all.
Charge device to 100% battery!!!
Place device into download mode, hold volume down, home button, press and release power.
Press volume up to confirm.
Connect to computer.
Check the phone bootloader update, and efs clear checkboxes once device is recognized.
Hit the START button!!
WAIT FOR REBOOT!
Wow it works! Tnx! At the first boot the default language is for Greece but the rom works perfectly in Italy and, I presume, in many others european countries. Only an hint for the noobs: in Odin on the CP file selection you must load the MODEM_I9300... file. Good luck!
I edited the instructions! Thanks @orsonbear!

Did you check the re-partition box?
And the pit file where is it?
It is located inside the .tar.md5 file. It will re-partition if you check the box. You can extract it if you like, but if you dont know how....honestly you shouldn't be messing with it, IMHO
Link is dead.. Can you help.. I need to repartition. Thanks
you can create .pit if custom recovery work (example terminal in twrp) or in debug mode (software on forum EFS_Professional)
use any stock rom

Hey,
Im trying to root my Galaxy S5 G900F and having great difficulty as I'm a Noob at this!
I've had a research online and found a few guides and followed one that ended up in my phone looping on a boot screen. I managed to reflash the original firmware and now all appears to be working again. Im rellay not sure where I went wrong so would appreciate if someone could point or link me in the right direction.
Phone - SM-G900F
Android Version - 5.0
Baseband Version - G900FXXU1BOJ1
Do I need to use any particular version of ODIN for the process?
What ROM do I need and where can I find it?
Again I thank you for your help and appreciate that as a noob i'm probably asking some pretty basic stuff that some will enjoy flaming me on but need a push in the right direction. Google didnt help much before
Can you post what you have already tried?
The easiest method (Doesn't work for everyone) is to flash CF Auto Root with ODIN 3.10.7
http://download.chainfire.eu/397/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.zip
But that can fail and soft brick the phone for newer revisions (Works fine on mine and others, but some refuse to accept it)
The alternative method is to flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 with ODIN, and then flash SuperSU.zip from TWRP recovery
https://dl.twrp.me/klte/twrp-2.8.7.0-klte.img.tar.html
If TWRP fails to flash correctly, which can also happen, uncheck "Auto reboot" in ODIN, and when it completes the flash, unplug the USB from the phone, remove the battery so the phone powers off, put the battery back in, and boot straight to TWRP with Volume Up, Home & Power
Make sure you already have SuperSU.zip on your MicroSD card in the phone ready to flash from TWRP
Thanks for the reply *Detection*

It left me with this....

"recovery is not seandroid enforcing" in red,
"set warranty bit" in yellow above the Samsung Galaxy S5 Logo
Is reactivation lock disabled???

That's what can happen when you use CF Auto Root on a device that doesn't like it
Flash a stock ROM again and go for the TWRP method
And when you're searching for your model S5, it's just G900F, the (G900FXXU1BOJ1) you searched for, is actually the ROM, not the phone model
Grab a stock ROM from sammobile .com, instructions are under the download, you need a free account to download and it's pretty slow unfortunately

Always use the latest version of ODIN first, 3.10.7 is the latest atm, if that fails, drop back a version, but generally the latest will always work best
Leave SuperSU.zip zipped, and stick it on the root of your external MicroSD Card, or internal storage, as long as you can access it from TWRP once you get booted into recovery it doesn't really matter where it is, I always use the MicroSD

When following this tutorial I ended up with a bootloop after flashing twrp (step 7) I got stuck at the samsung screen, but can access the download menu (I can't get into TWRP however). Trying to fix this, I downloaded the stock rom, selected all the files and clicked start but instead of flashing it went straight to pass (it says 0:02 next to it) . I am using the Home_CSC as detailed in the tutorial I followed. I have tried both Prince Comsy and regular Odin run as regular user and as admin. Since I cannot find a sollution on my own, I would appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

If your flashing your rom use latest Odin 3.13.1

Home CSC - keep user data
CSC - clean install - wipes user data
