Hi guys
i have noticed after the update to kitkat
My saved wifi passwords are reseting for a reason
Does anyone has this problem too?
Yes I have it to every time I reboot phone I must put my password again! Look in build prop for this line: ro.securestorage.support=true and make from true in false
Then save! And reboot phone! After reboot it can be that you must put once more your password and then it is good! Let me know if it is working ok?

*muses* Did I not already answer this question on the T-Mobile Forums? Don't suppose you go by "FrancineB" there?
Did you disable Auto Network Switch?
Don't suppose it has something to do with the firmware version? Mine remembers the WiFi passwords without issue... Even after the 50th reboot.

I have the same with my non rooted Note 3 Android 4,4,2.
I lose all my stored wifi settings/ paswords randomly .
I think it is after rebooting, but I only notice it when I am going to another place with a different WIFI router, checking if I am on line. There I see all the stored wifi connections are lost.
Can be weeks without loosing them . It happened three times now in a period of four months or so.
I have many wifi addresses stored on my ( super duper) Note 3.
Huib
After weeks without problems today I lost all my WiFi passwords again.
What happened was that I was in a Skype voice call that hung.the only thing I could do was reboot.
First I was happy the Wi-Fi settings where still there but next morning they all were gone.
I guess android synched wrong?
Normally when I reboot no passwords are lost.

Hi guys!
I have the same problem with my Note 3, International version SM-N9005, updated with 4.4.2. The phone is fully sock, no root no nothing...
Sometimes my phone lost all my saved wi-fi passwords, it happened yesterday, happened again today, i didn´t reboot the phone.
This is very anoying and i dont know what to do, its a new device with only 4 months, i really like it a lot but this is driving me crazy..
Any help or solution? Did anybody here with the same issue solved the problem?
Thks in advance!
Same here, once a week all settings gone. 2 colleagues have the same phone (SM-N9005) but they lose them less often. one of them never lost his wifi settings for now.
Is this perhaps related on installed apps that some app is bugging this settings?
I wonder if there is an update in course to correct these issues. They're getting too much... I am so sad that we can't freely root our devices because Samsung doesn't intend to update Note3 so soon..
Happened again today, yesterday i restore my wifi settings with Kies, and today morning all of them are lost again.... i´m getting really tired of this, i love my phone but this is nuts!!!
Does anyone here have a fix or at least an explanation for this issue? I can´t understand the reason of this issue, the device it´s not rooted, so i don´t think that a app could access and/or modify/delete the wifi data.
Perhaps we should look in to comparing firmware, apps and versions?
I'm not experiencing it.

Well, here it is....
It has happened to me as well. Probably around 3 times in the last two months. For me though I've never rebooted my phone when it occurs. I'll have wireless one minute look at phone later and they're all deleted. Quite frustrating.

Hi Guys,
I have a question about the update to version 4.1.2.
When I go to Settings > About > System update, I see that the update to 4.1.2 is found but it says that it is waiting to download but it stays like that forever and nothing happens.
Has anyone else seen such behavior? Do you know why it is happening and if it is normal?
Thanks!
Maybe a stupid question but... are you connected to WiFi when you see the message?

Make sure you have a good WiFi connection. The WiFi in my dorm shows a good connection (String signal) but the internet can sometimes timeout easily. Make sure your connection to the internet is superb.

Yes, I know what the arrows mean but my question is why this is happening? Is there a way for me to force the download? Or maybe I just have to wait more (it's been like this since yesterday)?
Try powering off the Nexus and then starting it up again. If that doesn't work, try using the technique to trick it into updating mentioned in this thread (yes, it's for a different situation but still worth a shot)

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. I tried powering off and on and it didn't work.
Then I tried the method to force stop the Google Services Framework and when I went to the System updates screen, I had the option to check for updates. I checked and I am back to where I was before - the update shows but is only "waiting to download"

Hi All,
Basically having a few issues when trying to use WhatsApp over WiFi on my GT-9505.
WiFi is working fine i.e I can browse etc all perfectly. However WhatsApp has a HUGE delay on sending and receiving messages. I'll send a message and the clock icon appears and can take 10's of minutes to go. I tried turning WiFI power save off and I thought this fixed it, however the same issue happened.
Anyone having a similar issue, any idea on how to fix? Recently, did a factory reset and a fresh install of the app so It can't be that.

check your date and time is set correctly on your phones settings as this can effect whatsapp.
Never had issues like this with it.
But on MF8 firmware sometimes it hard to connect to WiFi ! It says can't connect.

Do you use JuiceDefender or any other battery-saving app? These turn off data temporarily which in turn may cause your whatsapp messages to have a huge delay.

If you are rooted, I would do a nice backup and start fresh (factory reset).
Random bits of leftover data are usually what cause little annoying bugs like that. Also for the battery, use a wake lock app to see if any app/service is constantly waking up the device, and not letting it sleep

Hmm.. So you updated over WiFi? Like the ota? Since you have already reset, I would flash the phone stock 4.3 using either a toolkit you find here, or through fastboot if you have the know-how.
Because doing a wipe clears data, but if there is a problem with the actual system files you need to reflash it

also have seen mention of "force stops" triggering this, advice was to not force stop anything for a while and see if it triggers again.

Mine has been doing the same ever since the kitkat update.
I am running an unrooted EE note 3 (n9005) in the UK.
Gsiff_daemon is constantly my top battery drainer according to the battery app (35% - 47%).
I have not been able to find any consistent method to either activate this rogue app or to get rid of it.
Is there any solution without rooting it as I understand that renaming it should do the trick?
Usually the problem is when you soft reboot.
It was reported somewhere that it is the GPS sensor daemon, but disabling it did not show any adverse effects for me.
Get a root file explorer and remove it/rename it to .bak

gsiff_daemon fix.
Hello all. I just posted this on another thread so i will copy and paste to save doing it all again.
*No root required*
Hey
This worked for me.
In settings and the application manager, under the 'All' tab. I found a program called 'unified daemon(EUR)'
I tapped on it and disabled it.
The gsiff_daemon has since not appeared on battery usage.
I also set Power saving mode and changed Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep, to never, in the advanced wifi settings. Select wifi option in settings then press menu tab and select advaadvancednced to find the option. This turns off wifi when it's not in use and automatically turns on when you turn off lock screen.
my battery has more than doubled.
Hope it works for you too.
In my informal testing I found that gsiff_daemon is somehow related to S Health (somehow keeps the sensors awake even if you're not using the phone). I disabled S Health and SensorService and the problem went away. Easier for us unrooted types.
Solved!

SERIOUS Battery drain here
PROBLEM:
About three weeks ago I started to experience serious battery drain. This is a significant difference in daily results compared to a month ago. Now, three weeks into it I am having to put my phone into ultra power save mode on a daily basis just to be able to function as I am getting 1-3 hours of use out of my phone at this point. The problem has gotten progressively worse, as time has progressed over the last three weeks. Today seems to be the worst with me LOOSING battery charge while it is plugged in, and not in ultra saving power mode, (My phone is loosing 1% about every 10 minutes) and only having about 10 minutes of expected battery time LOL.
ENVIRONMENT:
Today is 1/8/14
I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5 (G9000T). I have had it for about 8-9 months, got it brand new (was replaced once 4 months into using it because of broken camera), but this is my second GS5 phone.
I am using Android software version 4.4.2
TROUBLESHOOTING:
Only app added in the last 3 weeks was HeyTell, which was about the time this problem started. Force stopping the app actually helped for about a day or two until the problem resurfaced. Finally deleting the app last week did no good.
Talking to T-Mobile, they recommended testing my gyro sensor.
Go to call screen and dial *#0*# and I get a test screen.
I pressed sensor and then test gyro. It failed. They recommended a master reset. DAMN, I HATE doing that. So much time to get it back to where I want it.... SOOOO many notes on how to set the phone back up LOL.
RESOLUTION:
I did a master reset today 2/9/15. They gyro is still showing a failure, so they are replacing the phone.
Same issue samsung s5 duos
Hello,
I had the same issue of the battery being used quickly by the gsiff daemon.
Thanks for your details of what this application is.
For the solution, I did a few soft restarts, a hard restart and activated the light power saving mode. After 2 days my phoned worked fine.
Don't have any more information.

How to stop gsiff_daemon?
1. Hot reboot your Samsung Android
2. Rename gsiff_daemon
3. Disable apps using gyroscope sensors

Anyone here had problem with the data plan be spent even with everything turned off? I do not know what to do to solve.
Is it a bug with the sim card? I think more likely to be a software problem. The strange thing is that the data counter remains the same, it is as if I had not spent any additional data.
I only know what is being spent because I get warning message from my cellphone carrier.
The data is always spent near or after midnight.
Tried block all data with Android Firewall. No luck, the log remains clear.
Tried edit the APN's password. Fixed for one day, on the next day in the morning, data was spent again, even with the wrong password
It seems to be a recurring problem with the 805 model, other people are having the same problem.
I'm in stock Android 4.4.2 with Dorimanx's kernel, but this problem also happened with the stock kk kernel.
I really appreciate if someone could help me with this problem.
