Hi,
Lets show off a bit of our speed demons?
Here is T-Mobile US, Server in Fort Lauderdale,

I get faster speeds from London to Amsterdam than from another server in London
Tre in Göteborg, Sweden. (If I use their ipv6 apn I only get 10/10 though, I guess because of the way they route ipv4-packets in that case, do you guys know any way of testing the speed using ipv6?)

Hehe, I have a monthly data cap of 2GB though, after which it get's throttled to 200kbit, so its not very useful, I would rather have lower ping rates and (a bit) lower speed to be honest.
I wish there was way to change the 4G symbol into LTE symbol.
LTE sounds cooler
I i am not in US at the moment, but noticed on T-Mobile US I have the 3G APN settings, here its posted different settings for 4G .. retest in few days.
@ergoen , 2GB monthly is not bad, I have 200 MB 4G per day only ..
in front of department of homeland security in seattle.....those whores.
When I hit the populated areas I get a consistent 40-60mb down with 10-20mb up. At my house....2mb down.
Megafon, Moscow. I think I can get much more speed, but I dont have this much traffic
Sent from my Xperia Z1 Compact using XDA Free mobile app
Oh snap, shots fired hahahaha
Are you running stock firmware or a rom? I dont like how stock wont show lte...just 4g.
First screenshot is Kitslim, second is CM-based rom.

My Z1 Compact in Montevideo, Uruguay. I have one of those new LTE contracts from local carrier ANTEL, they offer LTE 20/2Mbps but for some unkown reason it's working faster than contract limits.
So far I'm very happy with Z1c !!!
Sent from my D5503 using XDA Free mobile app
Any body know how change back 4g to lte icon?
mine is stock and shows only Lte, never saw 4g on my z1c.
Depends from firmware to firmware! You need search a firmware which show icon LTE.

Fast, but unfortunately can't get over the 100mbps mark. 99/14
4G speeds on Three Mobiles 4G network
My dad get this speed on Telia Sweden LTE and hes using a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
Hey American AT&T users/anybody that could help me out: I'm having trouble getting 4G on AT&T in Northern California.
Could you go to settings --> about phone, and tell me what your "Baseband version" and "Build Number" is?
Also, do you have the 4g option enabled? (You can check by dragging down the notification bar --> quick settings --> edit --> and selecting 'LTE'. Is it toggled on or off?)
Thanks!

so as everyone knows knows T-mobile started to throttle speeds once a user passes 5GB of data. Well here is how to go back to unthrottled speeds.
Simply click menu-> settings -> Wireless & networks -> mobile networks
then you are going to want to click to use only 2G networks. Click back and wait till it connects to edge.
then go back and uncheck Use only 2G networks
(must repeat upon reboot)
You should now be connected to an throttled 3G network. Personally i was getting about 60 kbps before i did it and after i get around 2000 kbps.

Good to know. I haven't been too worried until lately. Started using tethering at work to watch a lot of Netflix and Hulu when things are slow. I may be giving this a try very soon.
This is a great tip, thank you for it. I attached a pic of my results:

Lol... guys, you do know there is already a thread about this in development, right?
You guys really need to learn to use the search button before posting duplicate threads.
I already had someone steal my work today but this looks unintentional and is a far inferior method to disabling the data cap (aka throttle). Check out development if you want a more permanent method...

But I'm curious has anyone ever received a over the air update instead of manually downloading a zip file from forums like xda?

and the only signal issue i have, might be a software bug
as other people are having it in other countries as well, so i doubt it's Wind's fault

For rthe past 3 weeks I've been using mobi and wind, wind has been a massive fail, calls go to VM with full signal, texts come repeated sometimes 3 of the same text, and data is an absolute joke for anything but browsing, hockey buzzer sounds before outgoing calls, half duplex call audio. And its been getting worse not better. They appear either in denial of the problems or unable to correct them. Mobilicity has been saving grace for me, flawless service everywhere I need it, even have service in my underground parking. No comparison at all Mobilicity > Wind.
I should add, I'm in Toronto

working great with Mobilicity here in Ottawa as well!

I have received all my updates OTA as well pretty much as soon as they're released so far!
As for the service - I'm with WIND and have the usual probs..I live in the basement and get exremely poor reception even thou I'm in a WIND home zone with a tower right around the corner!! I also get that buzzer sound on outgoing calls - Was thinking of trying Mobi, but now not so sure if WIND gets LTE
If Wind is even allowed to operate after the their licence is now in jeopardy.

Hey, can somebody post a screen with their top speed (wifi) from their phone? I'm curious what real-world performance is between the "42mbps" radios is.
Ps-my home internet is rated at 18meg, so with devices connected, this is probably most of the pipe.

How can you have a WiFI speed test .
Its dependant upon the speed of the users connection and those are many and varied 3meg can be a good connection for some .
Mine is within about 1% next to the router but drops the further i move away .

Not a flame, but what are you talking about?
Wi-Fi has nothing to do with what the "42mbps" radio is. That is HSPA+, and is not in use when Wi-Fi is connected. And it is totally dependent on your carrier, and their APN.
On AT&T, H+ can be different depending on which APN you are on - either "wap.cingular", "phone", or "pta".
If you are connected to Wi-Fi, your speed will be totally dependent on your Wi-Fi connection's speed, and will have nothing to do with the HSPA+ radio or your carrier.
Processor? What I know is this - my Sensation can't pull these numbers over WiFi. I realize that it's not the best test, because it is not cell data. However, I wanted to see what kind of throughput my phone is capable of, and how an S2 does. And yeah, internet speeds differ, but somebody out there has an S2 and WiFi as fast as mine. I suppose my curiosity is more toward "does it utilize it fully" more than "I live by a tower and my cell speed is X" - which seems far more arbitrary to me.

No offense, but this is worse than arbitrary. You have no way of knowing if someone else's Wi-Fi is the same speed as yours, which already makes this "test" invalid.
If you want to know a true comparison between S2 Wi-Fi performance vs Amaze Wi-Fi performance, you'll need the two phones side-by-side hooked up to the same Wi-Fi.
My s2 pulls from 10Mb to 24Mb
Connection is 50Mb
Thanks to those who informed why it was a silly question, thanks especially to those who managed to overcome the silliness and post numbers. My question is answered.

My ISP is 100mbps
With wired PC I get ~90mbps down and ~80mbps up
So phone results are not very good
I'm on the $20/month 5GB/month data plan. and I think I goofed, big time. i was downloading some ps1 roms and didn't realize I was using my data instead of my wifi. lol

This comes to show me just how little data one gets with Verizon and AT&T. Wow, one large download or 3 Netflix movie and you're done for the month!! No thanks I'll pass. You guys could show off all your network speeds all you want, at the end of the day who gives a **** how fast you go if you can't really use it for anything without going over your limit. I'll stay with Sprint and my unlimited data. Being on the list of the first to get LTE also helps my decision to stay with sprint.

It's impossible to support millions of customers on a network without it straining. They prioritize quality of the network over unrestricted access. So it works great for as long as you're allowed to use it, or pay overages.

I was getting a constant ~60mbps down with bell and I was thoroughly impressed.
When I tried a speedtest on Rogers my jaw dropped.
Let's just say, I'm happy with the LTE radio in the Z1.

No LTE MAX for me, Bell only has regular LTE where I live east of you and Rogers coverage isn't large enough where I usually go in the province
Well where i live 99% percent of the population on the entire country don't know what LTE is.
Proof? The one's that do know LTE exists think its 5g, even carrier employees

I wouldn't be too jealous, they will get this for a few months until other phones (and carriers) start using the 2600MHZ AWS band. (not to mention 20Mhz cell blocks which nobody is currently using)
Also because its in the high frequency range, its not going to pass through buildings very well.. (I'm going to guess the user above was either outside, or in essentially perfect conditions to come anywhere close to 100mbps)
I'll be much more excited once they start using the 700mhz band..

Am EE UK and i get 72.60 down and 29.19 upload. Liverpool area tho
I constantly get an absolute minimum of at least 60/60 here in Sweden which is more than I would ever need for my mobile devices, as for my home network that's a completely different story(250/250Mbit/s).
How come you guys do speed tests on LTE so frequently? I have a 3 GB data plan and recently visited a city with LTE coverage, I was shocked to see each test consumed about 60MB, after doing 4-5 (I previously thought it had a preset amount of data to download and just measured times)..
I can hit 60mbps with 1 bar on Fido, its faster than my 28mbps home internet which is kinda sad.
