I do not usually have the lockscreen enabled but am forced to (sort of) with my Note II. Without a lockscreen pressing the home button when the phone is sleeping wakes it at the homescreen and not the last app that was open grrrr. With the lockscreen enabled i get to the last app (after swiping with rippled)
Final note. Imo the swipe to unlock without ripple is depressing and does not do justice to one of the smoothest phones on the planet! What were they thinking? It's terrible!

Incoming texts

Is it just me or is it a pain to get your text from the lock screen? What's the trick to it. I'm not to fond of the new way. I liked seeing it in the status bar but not the message on the lock screen & unfortunately you can't change that.

A pain? You click the message then swipe inside the white box that appears. Takes you straight to the message.

Personally, I dont like Samsungs whole version of the multiple lock screen widgets and notifications on lock screen. Very clumsy

Lockscreen lens flare effect gone?

When I first got my s4 when I would turn on my phone on the lock screen there was this lens flare effect that would just happen. Then i would unlock my phone with a swipe and you would see it whichever way you swipe. After a few weeks that initial auto lens flare Was gone but the swipe unlock flare was there. I just now changed to the latest apps to SD firmware and low and behold it was back but now after I rebooted my phone once it is gone again only after 2 days of the new firmware ! ! Anyone else had this happen?

Only time I notice it's not there is when I have a live wallpaper on the lock screen. That's normal...otherwise its news to me

Mine worked on live wallpapers too. I have a static one on now and it still doesn't happen

Clock appeared while in sleep mode

Anyone notice a clock and a few icons under it while phones screen is locked sleeping i seen it 2 times since i did the 4.3 update i only seen it for a sec but i liked it id like to kno how to see it again and what it was?

You have one of the motion things active. When you wave your hand over it, it displays that screen.

[Q] Is it possible to use the nexus 4 without battery?

I have a nexus 4 here that I will be replacing the battery soon. And I wanted to make sure that the touch worked before I buy one. It has cracks along the top of the screen but the lcd isn't broken. When I have the battery in I can't do anything with my Nexus because it is bad. But when I take the battery out and hold the volume down while inserting the charger. I am able to get into the bootloader, followed by selecting start. I will see the Google logo for a second or 2 like it is going to boot and it will shut off. Any suggestions?

Here are a few pictures with the bootloader started, and the Google word that comes up after selecting start from the bootloader. The battery was out while I was on these screens (charger only). But after Google screen phone will shut off.

I don't think you can just use the phone without a battery like that. Also since you have a crack there could be a possibility the digitizer is broken

One option is to use the battery connection and attach an usb direct into it. It works, but for some reason, the phone shutdown whitout warning after some seconds. after the boot is completed
