Incoming texts - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Is it just me or is it a pain to get your text from the lock screen? What's the trick to it. I'm not to fond of the new way. I liked seeing it in the status bar but not the message on the lock screen & unfortunately you can't change that.

A pain? You click the message then swipe inside the white box that appears. Takes you straight to the message.

Ya, but it also shows it in the lock screen, there's no way to do one or the other.

Personally, I dont like Samsungs whole version of the multiple lock screen widgets and notifications on lock screen. Very clumsy

Watch on Widget

I can only get the watch on widget to work on the lock screen, not on thr the home screen. Can someone confirm they are having the same issue?

Using nova I have no option for the watchon widget. I got the notification drawer widget to appear but it disappeared after reboot.

Same here. That's really weird that they wouldn't have it as a home screen widget.

There's gotta be a bug then.. Makes no sense.

Surprised this isn't being discussed more. Also no homescreen widget in the GS4, only lock screen and notification panel

Lock screen SMS preview

Does anyone know any way to turn this off? Like so many things in Touchwiz it's pretty ugly. If I turn it off in setting for SMS then it still shows up but without the preview.

Lock screen apps

How do we change which apps are on the lock screen. I cannot find the settings anywhere.
I want to add Gmail to there since that is the main notification that lights up.

No shortcuts key. Never had a phone where I couldn't find something haha.

Cannot believe I am the only one who couldn't find it anywhere.

Right there in settings where ud think it would be.... I understand though, sometimes we just overlook something no matter how long we search for it...

Where is it? I still don't see it. Can you take a screenshot of it for me. It's not there.

Shortcuts, right under wallpaper in settings/lockscreen. U must have swipe to unlock, as unlock type to get these options I think...

thank you. I had face to unlock so the apps shortcut was gone

Lockscreen SMS question. .

Is there any way to get a preview of a new text message on the lockscreen like HTC and Samsung devices? I've looked everywhere for the option but I can't find it. The only way is to pull down the notification shade or swipe up from the messages icon.

Try NiLS on the play store, works for all apps like iOS. I use it all the time.

I was just wondering if there was a native way to do out from LG built in.

A few questions

Well I went and got one after much deliberation. Very pleased as I am with it but I have a few questions.
On my galaxy s2 when I had a text message through it would tell me who the message was from in my notifications but this phone only says a new message.
Also on my lock screen it informs me of a message but I can't just swipe to go to it

They made it a setting. Go to Messages --> Settings --> More and check Preview Message.
On the lockscreen, tap it and swipe in the white popup box.
Thanks. It was really annoying not knowing who the message was off before reading

I can't see where I swipe the message to on the lock screen? I don't have a white box

I've another question about the charger supplied with the phone. Does it charge quicker with the usb 3 connector rather than a standard micro usb?

Anyone?
