Hi!
Im using Cyanogenmod 11 nightly on my Note 3.
However, since the 20140225 update, I get sleep of death issues. It works well on 20140224 so I have backed to that one.
Some threads seem to point to temasek kernel, and that it would solve this issue.
If I install the latest temasek kernel, will I still recieve nightlies from Cyanogenmod?
Thanks alot!
Lars
Nightly builds are manually flashed still, so yes you'd still get them so long as you flashed them. temaseks kernel is pretty damn stable.. I'm rocking over 10hours battery with 87% still on the battery and a couple of hours SOT. As for screen of death issues.. Kernel may solve it.

I just tried it.
I installed the Temasek 2.04 kernel, and then installed the CM11 latest nightly.
The result was as expected; Temasek kernel was replaced with CM11 kernel...
So I have to install latest nightly CM, and then the temasek kernel.
Not awesome if I want to install the latest nightly every day
Or am I doing something wrong?
That said, the new kernel does solve the SOD problem.

Yeah you'd have to flash the kernel after flashing the nightly, save the kernel to your SD card and then just flash after your nightly build only takes a few seconds

Sure, manual installation would work.
But I would loose the convenience of installing nightlies from the Cyanogenmod Update in the settings.
It could be a workaround though until CM11 kernel solves the SOD problem.
Offtopic: Where can I report issues like this to the people who develop for CM? The bugtracker does not allow bug reports on nightlies.
Im sure they are aware of this already, but might be good to know for future reference.
Most of the bugs are already well documented so I wouldn't worry too much, they're a little behind fixing some stuff (adding to the nightlies at least) you should try one of the custom CM builds you know, you won't regret it

Damn... Somewhere in the process my Google Now launcher broke...
Hot word detection doesn't work anymore.
Just reinstall it from the play store. Working fine here for me

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to do the trick.
Have tried wiping cache/dalvik and also backed to the working CM11 20140224, but it still wont work...
Any ideas?
Wipe the cache of the app in app manager itself, then uninstall and reinstall

Still not working
Haha! I found it!
It was an app called notification lockscreen that I installed.
Just remembered that it was the latest change I did.
Sorry for wasting your time, but again, thanks alot!

Hi xda members!
i am a noOb when it comes to anything android. Just switched from iOS. I did however manage to softbrick my s4 when attempting to flash the latest pacman rom for jfltecan. Nevertheless in the end I managed to restore to stock TW via Kies and factory reset. Guess what i'm asking is that is there a stable (daily driver stable) version of parandroid for Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M on Fido(rogers) in canada? I'm really looking forward to using the Halo))) function on the rom, i just love pie control. I was running CM 10.1 and it's a fantastic rom, but i'm looking for more features and no bloat ware. Thanks!
Another Question: Can i run i9505 roms on my i337m phone? from what i've read, it's definitely possible, after all the i337/m are the same as the i9505.
Both pacman and paranoids nightlies right now are 4.3. A few people are having boot issues on the 4.3 for pacman and had to switch from TWRP to another recovery to get the nightlies working

What's wrong with TWRT? Should I switch to CWM? Can someone confirm that parandriod is working on i337m?
Okey so I can confirm that PA 3.96 jfltecan is working 95% of the time. So far so good... I did have to pull out the battery and hard restart a couple of times. I got stuck on blank welcome freaked me out. But just give it give minutes. I'm running CWM latest recovery. Tried TRW? (Sry forgot the spelling) got stuck on bootloop. BTW pacman and PA 4.3 didn't work for i337m as of today.

Noob Here. I have a CM 10.2 Nightly flashed (last weeks version) and I wish to update as it contains some fixes. Have I got to factory reset, wipe cache..etc? or do i simply flash the new nightly? also will I lose all my apps?
Thanks

If you just flash the new nightly (and I'd reflash the gapps too) you don't need to wipe anything and you won't loose ant data

Ok cool. I have couple of questions if you don't mind.
What do I flash first? ROM or GAPPS?
I heared some nightlies have issues, is there somewhere I can look to find them?
Will I need to reflash Franco Kernel?
thanks

Hello all...
My boyfriend has the S4 for AT&T and loves the setup I have on my S3 with CM11 nightlies. Just curious as to how stable they are for the S4. I'm the Android nerd in the relationship and I don't want him to have any issues, since we don't live together.. yet
Or should I put another KK rom I saw over in the development section? Is CM10/JB more stable? How's the battery drain? I want to improve his phone, not give him problems LOL. He's completely stock right now.
I already know how to root and all that, I don't need instructions just advice for the best AOSP ROM/Kernel out there for this device.
Thanks in advance!
Depends on which firmware your boyfriend's phone has. Unless he is on the older firmware 4.2 MDL, there is no way to flash any AOSP rom, custom kernel, or even custom recoveries except Safestrap recovery.
With safestrap recovery, you can only flash certain touchwiz roms.
I'll have to check it out when I see him in a cpl days

Personally...I prefer custom tw roms on this phone..tw is actually better looking and more polished...and alot more features...check out Graviton 1.7

I spent a few days messing around with a CM11 1/10 nightly, 1/12 nightly, and the M2 snapshot.
I was really quite impressed with just how smooth everything looked and felt.
Definitely a step up from CM 10.2 and 4.3-based Carbon builds.
I had best results with the 1/12 nightly and the M2 snapshot.
I was experiencing odd reboots and glitches with the 1/10 nightly.
Mine is a pre-MF3 phone, obviously.
rule of thumb with nightlies is that they are not always an indication of an official release. You could get a bad nightly but the nightly before was fine. So far they are fine and nightlies are generally for flash-oholics
Yep. If you're deadset on a relatively hands-free CM11, I think the M2 snapshot is probably the best bet.

Baseband I337UCUAMDL

Is this the firmware you were referring to? I asked him if he did any system updates and he said he has not.

Yes, that's the right firmware. You can go ahead and use CASUAL, and then flash whatever you like for him.
I recently flashed the temasek and official CM11 roms, but the baseband has been unknown since.
So I had flash back to the original rom that I was using, my QUESTION is that I like cm11 alot, so how can i fix this problem?
Which Note model? -- N9005 or N9005 variant? -
T/w8 ?
Which recovery do you use?

It is actually N9006 but temasek's v45 for n9005 and earlier worked fine, I am using CWM rec.
Until recently, temasek's v46 and 47, the baseband becomes unknown
Last time a user had that issue, he fixed it by flashing stock via odin and then CM but he was using a n9005 so I am not sure if that will work for you as well...However no harm in trying.

I'm sorry but I speak poor English. What is a Stock? I've tried flashing kernel and baseband but it did not work.
When I use Temasek's v45, it shows that my baseband is ML1, but when I use further version, it becomes unknown.

ok i see, i tought it was sth like baseband or kernel or sth else.
I just flashed a n9006 rom made by chinese romers to get my note mp4 into a note3, or i could just use temasek's v45.
I just wanna use the latest cm11 rom but it seems that it's not quite possible for now, so i'll just stick to my original rom...

are there kernels and basebands that don't match, i mean they just don't work when put together?
I actually got to a similar problem, after some cyanogenmod update I suddenly got no cellular service at all signal strength stuck on -120db and its stuck on searching for service, flashing older versions, wipes, all did nothing

it worked for me though
It also worked for me although sadly I could not use my backup again after flashing back to cyanogenemod so its time to start downloading. At least my phone is fully functional now, even if I lost a bit of data.
I had the same issue move than once, i would lose imei number etc.
Found out that it wasn't prompting for pin unlock on boot.
Since removing this I've had no problems
Yea it also wasn't prompting for ping with mine.
Though starting again fresh does work, I am currently again on the latest nightlies. however if this happens again I will probably wait for a stable release because having to reinstall everything is not really desirable.

it is rather annoying to reinstall everything, even with kies
I didn't even use kies nor any other tool like that.
I am currently using cm12 on my nexus 7 2012 WiFi (grouper) with TWRP recovery. I am fed up with the lollipop lags and want to get back to KitKat. All I wanted to know that can I directly flash cm11 using the recovery (after factory reset and wiping cache) ? Or is there any other way to do it?

you will need to wipe data before going back to cm11. you should have a backup somewhere....
fyi, optipop with f2fs and overclock runs smoother than any rom ive ever used on here. even usbhost's crom builds(sorry bro).
if you do end up going back, please wait patiently and dont give up on lollipop. we are close to having the 3.4 kernel ported and that will breathe new life.
cheers
