so strangely for no reason at all i have these two strange marks on my screen, if i look closely i can see their not on the OLED panel but not on the surface of the outer glass either, its almost as if their between the both. its very odd as i have always looked after my screen. they are a strange silver color when screen is off and they look like dust when screen is on. although they are small i can notice them at all times and hence are very frustrating. does anyone have any ideas what they could be?
If your device still under warranty then just send it to service center to ask them replace a new screen panel.
well normally i would but i have voided the knox warranty so.. yeah

Really need help here,
My hermes suddenly decided that visuals are no longer needed.
That means the screens stays off all the time (yes even in bootloader mode).
It works, receive calls and flashes roms but in no situation can I see anything on the screen (pitch black screen).
I've got no warranty so I took it apart and checked each cable and connector - no issues were seen. I tried changing SPL-s, RUU, Roms all worked but left my tytn with that black screen.
Did anyone see this happen or has any advice?
This sucks big time :-(
No one? Oh man, I guess it's dead then :-(
Last bump before giving up and throwing it away - please?
send it to me if your gonna throw it away : - 0
I've given up on mine as well. It has white screen though. Where do I dump this thing?
If it is out of warrenty, I would take it apart as is sounds like the hardware, check the connections to the LCD. Does the backlight still work, or if you put it in strong sunlight, can you see the LCD working?
My Hermes had a white screen also. I found that if I squeeze the bottom right hand corner whilst resetting it would sometimes work. It seems there is a chip on the switch board that needs the right ammount of pressure on it. I think it was a design flaw as the herm200 and 300 are different. If applying pressure works and you are confident enough take the hermes apart and put a couple of small pieces of plastic or paper between the front buttons and the small square chip on the switch board. This worked for me.
The service guide is available if you google. Let me know if you need more info.
As for the black screen that sounds more serious sorry not seen that one.
what are you guys willing to sell your pdas for? Mine fell in a puddle and i need one for parts. The white screen might be fixable the first couple of times but then it dies off for good, the black screen i've never heard of.
So if you want to sell for a reasonably cheap price let me know, i can buy a new keypad online for $50. So around there would be nice!

I just tested this on mine and actually got some results.
mines the opposite though, it will NOT work with any pressure. I left all the screws loose for that board under the buttons, and left the LCD assemble screws out on that end and it works, But if I press the keys it whites out again and won't come back until I repeat the dis-assemble/re-assemble
I had a similar problem but this was after someone dropped mine on the floor. The screen would just be white screen, while everything worked. If I pressed the bottom right of the phone it would sometimes come on and stay on for a little while but would eventually always go to white screen.
I did manage to use the phone but had use a program called Net Control which allowed me to control the phone over WIFI with the phone screen shown on the PC. Got the phone replaced in the end by the people who dropped it.
i got the flex cable and my phone still has the white screen problem....wtf///
i got my HD2 from service and the screen got replaced, now it's a very tiny and almost unnoticeable black dot in the top center, and when i press it i can see some pressure on the screen at the same spot. is there any possibility that there would be a wier or something behind the screen?
And do anyone know of a way to take out the screen and how i could check it out myself?
My advice would be to send it back to whoever replaced the screen and let them see to it..
It sounds like a dead / stuck pixel so they might not do anything about it as they are often a manufacturing defect - some companies allow upto a certain amount of them before replacing the screen.
Also there's not going to be a Wier behind the screen!
I've got an issue with my D800 that I'd like some confirmation on. Since this afternoon, it's intermittently had a static filled screen. I've found that if I tap it a few times, it comes back to a normal screen. A few times, the screen has come up off center from what it normally is.
The digitizer looks to work 100% of the time. I'm confident that this is a hardware issue in that, if I reboot the phone, I have that static all the way through, from where the boot logo should be to my home screen.
My question is this: Is it the LCD or just the ribbon connecting the screen to the mainboard? My personal feeling is that if it were the screen, then it wouldn't intermittently come back. Also, reseating the ribbon is cheaper than replacing the LCD.
Any thoughts from those that have had this happen to them before?
Hello praetorzero,
Can you describe more about your "static" screen?
Do you mean like a noisy screen like old television displays?
Do you mean that one image like home stays the whole time on your screen?
By these both things you can try to reseat the ribbon but watchout that you don't move the ribbon too much because it can get bad.
It's true that it's an hardware issue. If you have warranty you can RMA it to let it be repaired. If you don't have warranty and the ribbon reseating doesn't work then you maybe can buy a LCD+Digitizer for like 80 euro or you might just sell your phone :/.

I can't post links yet, but let's try this anyway:: i.imgur.com/tPFHxJb.jpg
This isn't my picture, but this is exactly what my screen looks like when it's not working. If I rap the lower portion of the screen with my knuckle, it will either go back to completely normal or go off-center with the lower half of my homescreen represented at the top of the screen and the lower half static. Again, the digitizer works in the expected location, because I can still unlock the phone with my typical swipe.
Unfortunately, I bought this off of eBay, so there is no warranty. I'm on my own.
After screen replacment (screen+digitizer) in unauthorized service when I touch screen with a small pressing force on screen I can se little discoloration (like this when You touch monitor screen). It is normal in replaced screen?
That should never happen unless the glass is actually touching the screen or it is software-related, although I have never seen a ROM do that.
that's completely normal imo.. I had 2 G2s all of them had that issue. and my friend's g3 also has that.. in my instance it's not discoloring the screen.. it's like a small transparent ripple effect.. may be you have a different issue ?
My g2 with the original screen has a slight ripple when you press on it firmly. Probably all of them do... including your old one, but you didn't notice it. Now you're being hyper critical because you got it replaced at a 2nd rate place. If the color and touch accuracy/sensitivity is good then don't worry about it.
I'm not pro, but this never happend with screens that I replaced.
Hi everyone one
I'm not sure this is the right section for my topic, if not I'm sorry and pls direct me.
So I got this phone from my brother whith a weid screen he has no idea how he got this problem, it had a charging issue that he already repaired after that this problem appeared
The phone screen looks a bit weird no scratches or visible damag. but the screen is blurry the contrast is a so hight that the colors are a bit off and are not seamless, and there is this stains as if the screen is brocken (see atached pictures), so far if I hide the upper bar the rest of the screen will looks normal as if there's no problem with it
Any Idea on how to fix this problem is the screen damaged ?
Thanks in advance
No fixing that I doubt, unless the cable for the screen is loose, in which case I still would not try to fix it yourself unless you're very patient and have steady hands.
To fix, you need screen replacement.
According to samsung technician at service center, the purple strain damage are caused by having the phone being press on or under high pressure such as putting the phone inside tight jean pocket or being sit on etc.
