Hi folks!
I upgraded to KK via OTA.
I'm using knox a lot (don't laugh)...
When I tapped to open knox, it starts to install. This is where the problem is. Installation always stuck, randomly at any point. The furthest I got was up to 78% and it just stuck there.
I had cleared the cache partition using the N3 recovery as my phone is not rooted. Same issue.
Also I notice that after upgraded to kitkat, copy n paste doesn't work all the time...
Can anyone shed some light on my Knox n copy paste issue?
Thx in advance

Potentially an issue with KNOX on KK, buuuut, I'd hazard a guess you need to do a full wipe as the old JB file system is probably interfering with it, JB + KK have different structures so maybe causing the issue.
Oh dear. .. I always hated full wipe on a stock rom...
Thx for the suggestion though

Hi, I too have exactly the same problem and it happened after I downloaded the latest updates released by Samsung for Note 3 (KK) in India. I am a regular KNOX user. I have dropped a support query to Samsung. Let me see what response I get.
It is surprising to see that there is no way to re-download and re-install the KNOX apk. Googlling only gives you ways to uninstall KNOX
I wish there is a way out without factory reset.

Hi,
Had the same issue and fixed it without the wipe. All I did was to go to app settings and clear the cache of knox installer app. After the reboot knox updated successfuly.

Hey everyone,
I flashed the leaked 4.3 firmware with the 4.3 kernel and everything worked well except it drained battery way too quickly. I just flashed back to stock XXMEA firmware and did a factory reset. Everything is working perfect except under Device Status it says 'Custom' and when I plug the phone into Kies it won't check for updates. It says something about the device unable to initialize or something .
Does anyone know how I can get the firmware back to 'official' status and receive OTA updates?
The CSC is back to normal (XSA), the Kernel is back to nornal and obviously the firmware is back to normal. Any help appreciated immensely!

Just wait until the right 4.4.2 ROM is available in your Country and flash it with Odin. Make sure you got the samsung driver installed! In Odin just check F.TIME RESET and AUTO REBOOT and choose in PDA your downloaded ROM.
(Maybe after that you have to make a "factory" reset under the settings in your Note3
My god!
My last phone was Sony Xperia S, and to do a clean install all i have to do is to say to the software update that i want a clean install...
I am a litle scare right now... dont know what is odin...
Just wait for ota to arrive, install it and afterwards go to settings, general, back-up and restore and do a factory data reset. Make sure you have a backup of things you need afterwards.

If you scared I recommend you that you don't do it. It's possible to hard brick your phone.
Also you have to check bootloader update in Odin, otherwise your phone gets a bootloop.
Don't try this if you not know what you are doing!!!
Also you can't step back to an earlier rom if you flash the the official 4.4.2 version cause bootloader is locked and atm there are no solutions for that.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yip if you are scared to do it. Don't. You need to read up and read some more. Playing with firmwares is tricky and you can ruin your phone.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Just download the 4.4.2 the Official from Poland,Do a Factory Reset /wipeDATA/Cache
Then go to Download mode, open ODIN 3.07 and start.

If you flash XEO Official version, your data stays intact and nothing gets lost. -- IF you have a Hong Kong variant don't flash this at all.
EDIT:: You seem very very unsure, I'd advise you don't do it. Because you will be straight back here if you mess up.
So as far as I know triangle away is not yet supported on i9500 but I saw a YouTube video which shows another method for doing that. As it's not supported on 4.3 onwards. Is it possible to downgrade to 4.2 and make it work.
I recently rooted my phone and was having all sorts of system slow down and sd card many times not detecting. I selected complete unroot on Super user and unrooted my phone. But still having issues like cars not detecting. Binary shows custom. Will flashing official firmware being back ota updates. I

doing anything like flashing 4.2 will trip Knox(if u have it),so incase you don't have any prob with that, yes you can do that..
btw try a factory reset before doing anything else,it may solve ur prob..

If you have Kitkat on the device (tried flashing) then you need the Kitkat TWRP - hence the BL - You cannot go back to 4.3 if you've attempted to flash KK

Why not flash a normal ROM?
By that I mean, a ROM which is not touched by any service provider.
People have been reporting Fails while flashing carrier roms through ODIN... It generally seems to fail on the "Hidden" partition....
Hey everyone,
I'm having issues with my note 3 (tmobile) and I'm not sure if it has to do with rooting, but every since I rooted my phone I cannot go into my stock dialer/contacts. As soon as I click it, it just says "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped." I've tried rebooting the phone. And still no luck. I've also cleared cache and data and still nothing. Anyone know how to fix this issue? I've had to download a crappy dialer until I resolve this issue. And even with another dialer I cannot get to my call log, it gives me the same error, but at least i can get to my contacts.
Anyways thanks for the help!
If it helps I'm on: Tmobile note 3 Rooted using towelroot On 4.4.2
I guess you did something wrong while rooting.

unrooting and rooting again may not solve anything.
Flash stock room of your firmware (region)
since you are rooted it won't cause any problems to flash stock, look in the sticky section and do make a backup of it data and rom via cwm
Thanks I'll look into this and read the sticky. Also did it make a difference if I've remained on Stock? And would this trip Knox or anything like that?

Flashing stock ROM doesn´t trip KNOX
But maybe you trip knox while try root. Except of towelroot
