It actually isn't faster.. But it's better, the Camera supports 4k, Much more Developer Support. LTE!
But the Ram is about 300mb less.

It is faster graphic wise pretty much across the board, I suspect RAM is the same, probably more is allocated for system, maybe graphics, but I think it's all academic once you past running benchmarks and start actually using it, don't think you can actually tell the difference in normal use.

You wont notice the difference in daily use but the Exynos one outperforms in everything but the Graphics .
Thanks everybody, now for the long wait. Need to gather money for a week more to get the LTE version, and im sooo exited about this phone.

Hi, anyone bought a exynos version and using it in the UK, if so how much did it cost, where from and are there any hardware issues using it?
I already have an S3, the snapdragon version doesn't seem like a big enough upgrade to me, looking to get the exynos version .
S3 Geekbench 2 -- 1374
S4 I9505 Geekbench 2 -- 3160
How much of an upgrade do you need?

Fair point, however I dont see any point spend the same money on an inferior phone, if I'm going to shell out for a new phone might as well get the best version or not bother at all.
Both phones have advantages and disadvantages. Under ideal conditions the CPU speed of the Exynos will give you better performance, although not by much. As a tradeoff the GPU in the I9505 is better and has better OpenGL support.
For me the ease of development for AOKP and CM makes the I9505 the better option and I will use 4G eventually when it becomes more widely available in the UK.
It's a trade off though. Are you prepared to have less support for the phone as a result of importing it? And for a slight performance gain in certain circumstances that won't even be noticeable in real terms? If so then the Exynos model becomes an option but I'm just saying don't expect a big difference between it and the model you can buy today by walking into your local shop. In real life terms you won't see it.

All good points, I may have a rethink.
Hey guys, question is in the title!
Im not too concerned with performance as both chips are reasonably close to each other in that respect, and I'm not too concerned with filming in Ultra HD. But yeah I'd definatly go with the one with the longer battery life. What is everyone's opinion on this?? Anything from ppl who own the phones would be great. Cheers

both snapdragon 800 and Exynos 5 have energy efficient feature
so thr won't be any bad result for them so just buy one of them

Exynos user here - for battery, my money would be on the S800 version. 28nm vs 32nm fab, plus isn't s800 suppposed to be even more battery efficient than S600? If that's true, then right now, definitely S800. When samsung updates the 5420 to use A7 and A15 cores simultaneously as needed, things may change.
On the other hand, this isn't really the snapdragon's "fault," but LTE eats battery faster than 3G.
Does everyone agree with that summation? Also, is one easier to root than another? Or is it the same method for both?

Hello, 2GB of RAM is enough for the Galaxy S5? TouchWiz is not too resource hungry? Thank you!
Yeah. Like Note-4, 3GB of RAM was needed..
Even 8 gb ram won't be sufficient for shamesung's crap touchjizz
For me it's an proper amount of memory, haven't seen it reserved everything.
My phone uses in average 1,15GB / 1,67GB. Apps: Viber,Whatsapp,Messenger,Facebook,Gmail
Is that normal?

I don't think I used any abusive word here.. i only described how bad touchjizz is
I am using g906s which has 3GB of ram, but i dont feel much difference between the 2GB one. Still, touchwiz is a ram eater, it occupies abt 80% of ram during heavy workload. So I prefer aosp roms

1, Touchwiz isnt that bad on the galaxy s5
2, you might want to look up what jizz means
My ram stays quite full, but my phone performs fine so who cares? Cm11 uses nearly as much anyway
Hello.. I am planning too buy the note 4... In our country lebanon we have both variants.. The exynos and snapdragon... But it really confuses me.. Every benchmark site says something different.. Some says sd is better.. Some of them says exynos is better... I would really have a full review of users opinion.
What i really need from a note 4.
1. Camera are they both the same.
2. Gpu is there a really different in real life?
3. Ram.. If u have snapdragon you will have 1.5 gb left free ram.. On exynos. Only 200-400 mb.
4. Battery.. Most sites says onscreen time 8-12 hour .. Here on xda barely few could get 7 hours and under.
5. Sound chip.. Is really wolfon so much better than the one in snapdragon?
6. I am planning to order the gear vr.. So does exynos really lagg?
Lte really doesn't bother me at all.. Since 3g is enough for me. And i only use whats app and heavy games like modern combat... Nova 3..asphalt.
Could anyone plz give me a true and helpful advice
Thx in advance.
Ana help would be appreciated

1. Camera is the same in both versions.
2. Depends on your usage. The Snapdragon version has a better GPU, but some say the difference is not noticable in gaming. Since it is of interest to you, the Gear VR is supposed to be working optimally with the Snapdragon GPU.
3. I don't know about that, but it doesn't sound legit.
4. Battery life appears to be the same. 8-12 hours of screen on and doing nothing is pretty much the same as 7 hours with screen on while you actually use the phone.
5. I don't know, it's supposed to be better but I can't comment on how noticable that would be in real life conditions.
6. See point #2.
I hope I was somewhat helpful.
3. I wonder where this information comes from. On snapdragon version, after most bloatwares have been removed, you can reach 1.2 GB free, without user applications running. Should be the same on exynos one I guess.

exynos is far superior and also future proof with 64 bit capability. go for a 910U. best model is taiwanese.
exynos has wolfson DAC for superior audio, better more efficient CPU with less power usage, better GPU.

1. Is correct. Both have the same sensor.
2. Apparently the Mali GPU performs better than the Adreno in real world usage, but I'm not sure about that.
3. I did have slightly more free RAM on the Snapdragon than on the Exynos, even after a fresh reboot.
It was probably a coincidence though.
4. The battery life was a lot better on the Snapdragon on 3G.
About 7.5 hours on the SD compared to only 5 hours on the Exynos. On WiFi the battery life was almost the same.
5. The difference is noticeable.
Especially the heights sound a lot clearer on the Exynos. You won't notice it when you only listen to low quality 128 kbit MP3s or YouTube rips.
6. I fail to see why the preformance would be different with GearVR when it's the same on regular games.
The only reason I could think of is that 3D requires a ton of GPU bandwidth which the Snapdragon has compared to the already quite bandwidth starved Exynos and Mali SoC.

If you did how's the battery life?

The Snapdragon supports fast charging which is a godsend to me, 50% in 20 mins and 50% is enough to last the day if you have forgotten to charge it. That's worth its weight in gold.

Hello guys . recently i just bought a leeco pro 3 ai edition model LEX653 . 32gb version though... the spec were Helio x23 with Mali 880 and 4 GB RAM . but i am currently doubting the spec as the phone get laggy even while playing low graphic game (idle RO etc) and the loading on some game (AOV for example) is quite slow (slower than my old Lenovo k3 note which had a lower spec) . any idea guys or is it my phone is "faulty" ? thanks
You could return it if you can or root it here is some info on that.

The issue is the hardware. The Helio X23 sucks for gaming. It's GPU is way worse than the Snapdragon 820's. Should have looked at reviews of phones with the chipset, or the phone itself, before buying.
...Is usually the case. But you did mention that the K3 Note with lesser specs is faster. In that case, it's probably just eUI. You'll have to debloat your ROM and uninstall bloatware LeEco apps using adb. Or switch the ROM, but I wouldn't know about that. Look at the Pro3 AI sub section in this forum.

All I know is that high-end Mali GPUs aren't as strong as high-end Adreno GPUs. Again, use adb to uninstall bloatware and see if that makes a difference. LeEco is notorious for its awful eUI skin over Android. It slows everything down. The amount of RAM free usually doesn't matter, especially for 64-bit phones with 4+ gigs of RAM.
Which game are you trying to play, and is it always online? Do you need an Internet connection to play it?
