Hey guys, question is in the title!
Im not too concerned with performance as both chips are reasonably close to each other in that respect, and I'm not too concerned with filming in Ultra HD. But yeah I'd definatly go with the one with the longer battery life. What is everyone's opinion on this?? Anything from ppl who own the phones would be great. Cheers

so thr won't be any bad result for them so just buy one of them

Exynos user here - for battery, my money would be on the S800 version. 28nm vs 32nm fab, plus isn't s800 suppposed to be even more battery efficient than S600? If that's true, then right now, definitely S800. When samsung updates the 5420 to use A7 and A15 cores simultaneously as needed, things may change.
On the other hand, this isn't really the snapdragon's "fault," but LTE eats battery faster than 3G.
Does everyone agree with that summation? Also, is one easier to root than another? Or is it the same method for both?

Thanks for creating this, I was thinking the same after reading GSMArena's blog. I guess they have a better HW than the international ones, so 1.8 GHz could be a little extra push for ours, still it's achievable as it's already pushed up to 1.6 GHz?
What say???

Keep in mind that clock-for-clock, the Snapdragon in the T989 is MUCH slower than the Exynos.
General consensus seems to be that a 1.5 GHz Snappy is approximately the same as a 1.2 GHz Exynos performance-wise.
That's a 20% overclock from stock for them, while anything Exynos-based has had 33% overclock for ages. So we have a higher percentage overclock on a processor that provides about the same performance despite the lower clock rate.
^this.
Clock says nothing about a CPU's speed, it's only good for comparisation between the same CPU type.

It is faster graphic wise pretty much across the board, I suspect RAM is the same, probably more is allocated for system, maybe graphics, but I think it's all academic once you past running benchmarks and start actually using it, don't think you can actually tell the difference in normal use.

Thanks everybody, now for the long wait. Need to gather money for a week more to get the LTE version, and im sooo exited about this phone.
I am going to buy Note 4 soon but before I make final decision I must to know:
Camera in both versions - Exynos and Snapdragon are the same, right?
Battery life is marginally better on Exynos, right?
Exynos means less community support - example problem of getting CyanogenMod. But does it mean I cannot install any other ROM? Or I can't only those without TouchWiz? To be honest I always install ROMS based on TouchWiz, those without, example Cyanogen are crap for me.

Exynos better because of
1- the Wolfson DAC built-in a dedicated audio chip that makes a huge difference in audio output and it's compatible with iRig devices if you want to record instruments on your Note and it's the first and the only Android phone that supports it.
2- 64-bit capability the 5433 has Arm cortex A53/A57 cores so that is pretty damn better than the old a15/a17 (I think) Don't forget that the Exynos is built on the "new" 20nm process that is very powerful and power efficient.
3-If you care about benchmarks the Exynos destroy the SD 805 44000 vs 55000 on geekbench
That's from a personal experience I own a Exynos-powered Note 4 and I'm in love with it!

Not my oppinion but an official statement
go for exynos..this time snapdragon batter life is not good and exnos is good all the way even in benchmark
Unfortunately in States we dont have much choice. Only Snapdragon phones fully support available LTE bands.

Hello.. I am planning too buy the note 4... In our country lebanon we have both variants.. The exynos and snapdragon... But it really confuses me.. Every benchmark site says something different.. Some says sd is better.. Some of them says exynos is better... I would really have a full review of users opinion.
What i really need from a note 4.
1. Camera are they both the same.
2. Gpu is there a really different in real life?
3. Ram.. If u have snapdragon you will have 1.5 gb left free ram.. On exynos. Only 200-400 mb.
4. Battery.. Most sites says onscreen time 8-12 hour .. Here on xda barely few could get 7 hours and under.
5. Sound chip.. Is really wolfon so much better than the one in snapdragon?
6. I am planning to order the gear vr.. So does exynos really lagg?
Lte really doesn't bother me at all.. Since 3g is enough for me. And i only use whats app and heavy games like modern combat... Nova 3..asphalt.
Could anyone plz give me a true and helpful advice
Thx in advance.
Ana help would be appreciated

1. Camera is the same in both versions.
2. Depends on your usage. The Snapdragon version has a better GPU, but some say the difference is not noticable in gaming. Since it is of interest to you, the Gear VR is supposed to be working optimally with the Snapdragon GPU.
3. I don't know about that, but it doesn't sound legit.
4. Battery life appears to be the same. 8-12 hours of screen on and doing nothing is pretty much the same as 7 hours with screen on while you actually use the phone.
5. I don't know, it's supposed to be better but I can't comment on how noticable that would be in real life conditions.
6. See point #2.
I hope I was somewhat helpful.
3. I wonder where this information comes from. On snapdragon version, after most bloatwares have been removed, you can reach 1.2 GB free, without user applications running. Should be the same on exynos one I guess.

exynos is far superior and also future proof with 64 bit capability. go for a 910U. best model is taiwanese.
exynos has wolfson DAC for superior audio, better more efficient CPU with less power usage, better GPU.

1. Is correct. Both have the same sensor.
2. Apparently the Mali GPU performs better than the Adreno in real world usage, but I'm not sure about that.
3. I did have slightly more free RAM on the Snapdragon than on the Exynos, even after a fresh reboot.
It was probably a coincidence though.
4. The battery life was a lot better on the Snapdragon on 3G.
About 7.5 hours on the SD compared to only 5 hours on the Exynos. On WiFi the battery life was almost the same.
5. The difference is noticeable.
Especially the heights sound a lot clearer on the Exynos. You won't notice it when you only listen to low quality 128 kbit MP3s or YouTube rips.
6. I fail to see why the preformance would be different with GearVR when it's the same on regular games.
The only reason I could think of is that 3D requires a ton of GPU bandwidth which the Snapdragon has compared to the already quite bandwidth starved Exynos and Mali SoC.

It's not that the Snapdragon 805 doesn't perform as well as the Exynos 5433 SOC. They both are excellent performing SOCs. It's just that the Snapdragon 805 has a bad habit of overheating very easily, which is a common problem among Qualcomm's Snapdragon series of SOCs.

I've been happily using the Snapdragon 805 variant since launch week and it runs just fine. Battery is great, I get around 6.5h SOT if I do try push it (usually going to bed by the time it hits 4h).
Both variants are great, and you should have a similar experience on both on Android 6.0.1.

The Mali T-760MP6 is a excellent GPU and will run any game you throw it's way like nothing. While the Adreno maybe slightly better. The Mali T-760 isn't a slouch in the gaming department either. ROM Support seems good.
Check out the Exynos Development Section
Snapdragon for gaming, media, and vr. Exynos for multitasking and background processing. From what I've read, both are fairly comparable but exynos may have better chance of seeing nougat update since it's more widely used internationally.
Actually, I have used both of them.
The Exynos wins, at least in terms of a battery life (+30 min of SoT compared to the SnapDragon) and earbuds sound quality. Moreover, it heats up less than the Snap.
the n910c seems to be better in every aspect
Guys I had the snapdragon variant and I just got the exynos model now... Huge difference! The exynos hands down wins! By far better...

Lol I have 2 phone right now i i say that exinos in way back after snapdragon. Snap is better in every way. More powerfull cpu, ram., all test win snapdragon
Actually if you care about performance, go with snapdragon, but if you use it as daily phone and you concern about battery life, heating problem then exynos. BTW, exynos on galaxy note 4 has 64 bit processor, which means, it is a newer version of processor!!
