Hello guys . recently i just bought a leeco pro 3 ai edition model LEX653 . 32gb version though... the spec were Helio x23 with Mali 880 and 4 GB RAM . but i am currently doubting the spec as the phone get laggy even while playing low graphic game (idle RO etc) and the loading on some game (AOV for example) is quite slow (slower than my old Lenovo k3 note which had a lower spec) . any idea guys or is it my phone is "faulty" ? thanks
You could return it if you can or root it here is some info on that.

do u think that i recieved a faulty device?
Probably not I would return or you root and get rid bloat of apps.
It will run much better.
You could do hard reset that could help.

The issue is the hardware. The Helio X23 sucks for gaming. It's GPU is way worse than the Snapdragon 820's. Should have looked at reviews of phones with the chipset, or the phone itself, before buying.
...Is usually the case. But you did mention that the K3 Note with lesser specs is faster. In that case, it's probably just eUI. You'll have to debloat your ROM and uninstall bloatware LeEco apps using adb. Or switch the ROM, but I wouldn't know about that. Look at the Pro3 AI sub section in this forum.

even if it bad as u said but i dont think it would be that bad til the point of not even able to handle a low graphic game . well maybe ill try a custom rom . does the x23 have big different with the x27?
edit*
ive seen video review of helio x20 paired with Mali 880 and it goes smooth on heavy graphic game thou.
phone is 4gb ram but free us 2gb is it normal for system to ate upto almost 2gb ram?

I am confused about my phone model LEX653 .. I thought ai edition only come in 650 and 651
Why would they not except it did root or unlock the bootloader?
If not return and stay away from the all edition if you can.

All I know is that high-end Mali GPUs aren't as strong as high-end Adreno GPUs. Again, use adb to uninstall bloatware and see if that makes a difference. LeEco is notorious for its awful eUI skin over Android. It slows everything down. The amount of RAM free usually doesn't matter, especially for 64-bit phones with 4+ gigs of RAM.
Which game are you trying to play, and is it always online? Do you need an Internet connection to play it?

Hello,
I just recently picked up a GN3 from Pakistan and due to how shady the cellphone market is here, I have been trying everything I can to figure out whether my phone is a fake or not. The device was shipped in from the UAE and what concerns me a little is the information I'm getting using a few apps that scan the CPU.
My knowledge in this regard is a little weak and for some reason I feel like I don't have the chipset that Samsung might have wanted me to have. Please take a look. I have the SnapDragon 800 version (SM-9005).
Should the processor say something along the lines of SD800E instead of ArmV7?
Thanks in advance.
Use this app if it's available to you and it will tell you if its real or a fake. It compares it to other devices.

Thats a Legit N3, All SOC are ARM Based.
Manufacturer, Device, Product, Brand, Android Version, API level, build ID, Fingerprint, Resolution, Processor, Memory, etc is all correct. From that app atleast you should have this if you scroll down:
OpenGL 1.X (Adreno(TM) 330 same for GL 2.0
Graphics mode should be RGBA 32BIT
If so, your all set. You can also benchmark it for peace of mind... your score should be 17~20k on quadrant and geekbench 3 should be 800+ for single-core and 2400+ for multi-core. (Mines 869/2510 GB3, 20K on Quadrant but stock should be abit lower)
There is no way any of the fake note 3 soc will come close to these scores.

Just a heads up though, if you use xposed framework and have xprivacy installed it can come up as a fake due to the app not having permission to read all the info.

It is faster graphic wise pretty much across the board, I suspect RAM is the same, probably more is allocated for system, maybe graphics, but I think it's all academic once you past running benchmarks and start actually using it, don't think you can actually tell the difference in normal use.

You wont notice the difference in daily use but the Exynos one outperforms in everything but the Graphics .
Thanks everybody, now for the long wait. Need to gather money for a week more to get the LTE version, and im sooo exited about this phone.
I bought this phone because of the quad core 1.9Ghz processor, but as a matter of fact, this phone is a quad core 19ghz processor only for 5 or so minutes at a time, then it's just a 1.2Ghz quad core processor.
I don't know what's the reason for this, but I suspect overheating or Scamsung being shady and still cheating the benchmarks.
Anyway, try this: download Antutu Benchmark (or any other benchmark really) and run a full test: if the phone is "fresh" you'll get 29000 or so points. Good. Now run it again, you'll get less, and if you run it again, you'll get even less.
What do you think is the reason for this? This phone is unable to keep it's maximum frequency for more than 5 minutes at a time, and so it underclocks itself to 1.2Ghz (check it with CPU Z or anything, it will never go to 1.9 ever again after you get the lowered score in Antutu) and stays there for hours before it goes back to 1.9 again.
Check out these screenshots, and look at the time I ran the benchmarks. It only took 3 minutes to go from 29000 to 26000, then I ran it 2 more times and it went as low as 22000 with massive performance losses in 3D graphics (OpenGL test runs at around 30-40fps the first time then 15-24, basically half speed).
If this isn't a scam I don't know what it is. They should have advertised this as having a quad core mode for 5 minutes every now and then, or being a real quad core only in winter, because as a matter of fact it runs like a mid tier dual core most of the time. No wonder the UI lags like crazy all the time after you browse the internet a while or play a 3D game.

There is a xposed module to disable it.

Really now. I need to try this, because right now I'm MAD. I had a similar problem with the Xperia S that happened only when playing and charging at the same time, and you can't believe how angry I was at that.
Since I bought the phone just recently and it was already on KitKat, and I did some googling for i9505 and overheating and all sorts of related keywords and found nothing, I expected this behavior to be pretty much undiscovered. I'll try the exposed module and report back.
Anyway, since you need root, and mods, the phone is still a scam because the average user wil NEVER EVER figure this out on his own. It's advertised as a 1.9Ghz quad core when in reality it never runs at that speed.
I confirm that it was caused by the DVFS. What were they thinking when they implemented such a thing on the phone?
Facepalm.

1.9 ghz is it's max speed which it does achieve for first few minutes when a game runs and hence it is not a scam. No mobile processor runs at it's max frequency 24/7 or else you would have to keep charging the phone every hour and the phone would probably die in a day due to overheating -_-
Samsung did this to increase battery life but the move backfired
The only way you can do something about is by rooting the mobile which infact will void ur warranty.

It should run max speed when needed, of course it won't run at full speed all the times, but if it runs at 1200mhz when I'm running a game or the browser and it's lagging like crazy then there's a problem.
I already rooted, voided my warranty, tripped my know, and fixed this issue with the xposed module the other user recommended.
Bottom line, unless you void your warranty and install user made mods this phone is a scam, because as soon as it get slightly warm it underclocks like crazy causing lag and horrible performances. There should be lawsuits up the ass about this. Users shouldn't accept having their phone arbitrarily underclocked for no reason like this.
What a retard.

Hello.. I am planning too buy the note 4... In our country lebanon we have both variants.. The exynos and snapdragon... But it really confuses me.. Every benchmark site says something different.. Some says sd is better.. Some of them says exynos is better... I would really have a full review of users opinion.
What i really need from a note 4.
1. Camera are they both the same.
2. Gpu is there a really different in real life?
3. Ram.. If u have snapdragon you will have 1.5 gb left free ram.. On exynos. Only 200-400 mb.
4. Battery.. Most sites says onscreen time 8-12 hour .. Here on xda barely few could get 7 hours and under.
5. Sound chip.. Is really wolfon so much better than the one in snapdragon?
6. I am planning to order the gear vr.. So does exynos really lagg?
Lte really doesn't bother me at all.. Since 3g is enough for me. And i only use whats app and heavy games like modern combat... Nova 3..asphalt.
Could anyone plz give me a true and helpful advice
Thx in advance.

1. Camera is the same in both versions.
2. Depends on your usage. The Snapdragon version has a better GPU, but some say the difference is not noticable in gaming. Since it is of interest to you, the Gear VR is supposed to be working optimally with the Snapdragon GPU.
3. I don't know about that, but it doesn't sound legit.
4. Battery life appears to be the same. 8-12 hours of screen on and doing nothing is pretty much the same as 7 hours with screen on while you actually use the phone.
5. I don't know, it's supposed to be better but I can't comment on how noticable that would be in real life conditions.
6. See point #2.
I hope I was somewhat helpful.
3. I wonder where this information comes from. On snapdragon version, after most bloatwares have been removed, you can reach 1.2 GB free, without user applications running. Should be the same on exynos one I guess.

exynos is far superior and also future proof with 64 bit capability. go for a 910U. best model is taiwanese.
exynos has wolfson DAC for superior audio, better more efficient CPU with less power usage, better GPU.

1. Is correct. Both have the same sensor.
2. Apparently the Mali GPU performs better than the Adreno in real world usage, but I'm not sure about that.
3. I did have slightly more free RAM on the Snapdragon than on the Exynos, even after a fresh reboot.
It was probably a coincidence though.
4. The battery life was a lot better on the Snapdragon on 3G.
About 7.5 hours on the SD compared to only 5 hours on the Exynos. On WiFi the battery life was almost the same.
5. The difference is noticeable.
Especially the heights sound a lot clearer on the Exynos. You won't notice it when you only listen to low quality 128 kbit MP3s or YouTube rips.
6. I fail to see why the preformance would be different with GearVR when it's the same on regular games.
The only reason I could think of is that 3D requires a ton of GPU bandwidth which the Snapdragon has compared to the already quite bandwidth starved Exynos and Mali SoC.

The Snapdragon supports fast charging which is a godsend to me, 50% in 20 mins and 50% is enough to last the day if you have forgotten to charge it. That's worth its weight in gold.

I wish this device had a better GPU. More likely a custom Mali T880 MP8 or MP12. This phone is what Huawei calls their flagship phone. Only GPU has let it down. Mali T880 MP4 can't just handle everything so smoothly in full HD.
they are slowly getting better
What we need is proper kernel sources so there can be a custom kernel built with GPU improvements, governors and overclock. I just wont count on that any time soon for this phone..

Overclocking just doesn't help much. All the GPU power is needed for gaming. Overclocking causes heating which throttles down CPU freqs. And over clocking really doesn't help much other than first 10-15 minutes.
My suggestion was just that they should have added more GPU clusters. This GPU is found in low budget devices.

Overclocking just doesn't help much. All the GPU power is needed for gaming. Overclocking causes heating which throttles down CPU freqs. And over clocking really doesn't help much other than first 10-15 minutes.

Sorry, but for real gaming get a PC and even there U could use a Emulator for Android games
i actually disagree with this. this mali quad cluster is on par, if not better than adreno 510 found in what is pretty much considered the best bang for the buck cpu out there, snap 650/2. not only is 650 a upper midrange/flasghsip material SoC, it performs generally quite well and runs everything. kirin beats it's gpu, or at least matches it, and wipes the floor with it when it comes to cpu power. sure, gpu is not 530 or mali mp12, but then again we paid a midrange price and got a flagship phone. it's a compromise. despite that, it still runs everything ok so its an acceptable gpu. not rly sure you'd see a huge difference between this gpu and mp12 on s7 since one on s7 has to push double the pixels, so real difference should be 50ish% tops. most gpu benches run the screen @ 1080P and sure, in that case it beats our cluster, but that's not s7's native resolution is it.
in the end, imo its worth it since the entire package simply performs great. i've had my share of phones, and this lil monster simply kills it, even without a custom rom. its just that well optimized.

I have a PC and not all games work well with emulators. And it's completely a different experience. I can't put my pc in my pocket ?

This is not a flagship GPU. Chinese phone generally offer more at this price. LeEco Le2 has this same GPU and costs ~⅓ of this phone's price. Xiaomi MI5 has an adreno 530 and it costs lesser than this phone. I would say a custom MP8 MALI GPU could have taken this phone to a different class. And yeah benchmark scores doesn't make any sense to me. They have just show some score based on 2 mins of testing. We can't conclude real life use with benchmark scores
xiaomi / letv phones might offer better specs for price, in china or india. there are some major issues when buying those, especially for ppl in europe/US. chinese brands are hard to come by, and even if you buy them for cheap/order from china you're pretty much stuck with a phone and no warranty. shipping to china is usually not worth considering the price. if you actually find a retailer that will sell lets say mi5 and provide a 2yr warranty, phone tends to cost a lot more than honor, at least thats the case where I'm at (EU). not to mention you can get honor8 for cheap when signing a contract. good luck doing that with chinese brands.
this is not a rant about chinese brands (myb rant bout xiaomi cause their open source policy is crap), i still use my rn3p and its been mostly satisfying esp. with CM13. however its been less then a year and it already started behaving badly. quality & control simply isnt on par. it was cheap sure, but it dies fast too, and there is no way for me to repair it. it is what it is, a compromise. cheap and you risk it, lil more expensive, but at least you're safe.
oh and in regards to mi5, unless you buy that premium version, phone is actually quite disappointing. build quality is meh, performance might be decent, but miui8 performs worse than EMUI so day to day usage is kinda pain. wish they did smth with that crapware os they ship. debloating is first step
I agree to what you say, but I won't include Mali T880 MP4 to a flagship hardware.
well you could say it's not flagship compared to the likes of snap820/1 / exynos, but it's the best huawei has to offer. for 1080p its acceptable. people that dont game really wont be able to tell a difference, for rest it just works. if you really look at kirin SoC's, even the gpu in 960 isnt top of the line. sure it kinda manages to narrow the gap with mentioned SoC's, but new ones are around the corner and kirin will again be worse in gpu department. this is standard for huawei honestly. same goes for mtk tho, yet mtk is widely popular (sure cheap price is the main reason) despite pretty crappy gpu. goes to show most ppl dont really need that top of the line gpu on board.
if hauwei was smart, they could've simply avoided this issue by releasing complete source. well built custom rom would be smth that most enthusiast would prefer over maxed out gpu. guess this wont happen tho xD

Well Kirin 960 has a very good GPU. Far better than this one. But again it has only 8 clusters which is good as of now. The new smartphones which will be using Mali G71 will have 16 clusters I guess. Cause that GPU can be configured upto 32 clusters. And Mali G71 MP8 isn't bad at all. It's really powerful and it can keep most demanding games run smoothly more than a year or two. But Mali T880 MP4 can't, only vulkan can help a bit. And I heard vulkan is kinda outdated/broken here in Nougat update. That's a bad news.

I wish this device had a better GPU. More likely a custom Mali T880 MP8 or MP12. This phone is what Huawei calls their flagship phone. Only GPU has let it down. Mali T880 MP4 can't just handle everything so smoothly in full HD.

Let get this correct Huawei don't call this their flagship phone.
This is Honor flagship phone, which is a separate brand Huawei has been pushing for a few years now..

Okay. Whatever the brand is this is what they call their flagship phone. But it lacks some GPU power. I'm experiencing a very bad GPU performance on this phone. I've to enable ROG mode if I'm to play mc5 smoothly. And powering a HD display even my three year old tablet with Adreno 320 does a better job.
well, kirin 955 = 950 when it comes to gpu performance, so gpu debate stands for now ex flagship p9 which has pretty much same specs as honor8.
as far as performance goes 320 is deffo worse than mali880. in 99% cases adreno 510 is better than 320, so 880mp4 should be too. im guessing either bad optimizations from huawei or devs are the culprit.

You can get a nividia shield cloned app and you can even Play gta5 on your Phone dont know whats your Problem. if you have LTE you can Stream every game to your Phone. By the way the real feeling of gaming is only on the PC
Sorry for being redundant, but this is not Huawei's flagship phone, it's a budget phone. If you want their flagship get the Mate 9. Or maybe the upcoming Honor V9. The 'Honor' brand to me is a (budget) offshoot similar to Oppo to OnePlus. It makes sense for them to use a word in their brand name that western people are actually able to pronounce.
If would help if EMUI5 has the 720p mode working, but currently it doesn't. I'm afraid to use Android ADB command to force it, because it most likely won't look correctly and sometimes soft brick phones that isn't running stock Android, which is a pain to setup the phone from scratch.
