[Q] Optimised stock rom - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, do you know any optimised stock ROM? I'm looking for one that is speedy but totally stock, dies it exist? Remember, FULL stock

try to install dalvic and bionic patch from :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546120
it optimize your ram memory on stock rom. i don't know any optimized stock rom but you can also "built" your own rom applying some patches. i also use stock rom withe bionic and dalvic patch and xposed framework to get some features i like from others custom roms

Of course it doesn't exist
If it was optimized, it wouldn't be fully stock.
Fully stock is the factory images / what comes on the phone.

Xposed framework and Gravity is what you are looking for regarding changing many options in appearance.
But It needs root.
Alternative for speed, you could change phone state into ART mode, with only a small disadvantage that some few applications are not compatible.
Unleashed by my Nexus 4

Install the dalvik/bionic patch and a custom kernel. Not much else you can do to speed things up under the hood.

Most Bloat Free and Fully Optimized Custom ROM (4.4.2)?

Hey guys. I've tried out many many ROMs since the past week. But I can't find a ROM worth my taste (all ROMs are PERFECT don't get me wrong)
My requirements are (just) these.
1. The slimmest, fastest 4.4.2 ROM. Be it Stock be it customisable. I. Need. Speed!
2. Battery Life.
3. A Custom Kernel (speedy ofc) to go with it.
Current combination:
Nexus 5 Experience ROM by BoyKioy.
AK Kernel v309.
Dalvik / Bionic Libraries
Greenified
Thanks.. I would love to try out your suggestions!

Purity is the answer for all your question. Fast,Stable and with Hellscore kernel battery friendly. :good:
Most bloat free? Without doubt it is KitKalo. You can find it in android dev section. Good battery life with matrix kernel.
Pure speed v3? Haven't used it but from what I've read it's the fastest and most bloat free

This thread really boils down to a best rom thread which we do not allow.

[Q] stock or custom rom?

I use custom kernel, updated gpu drivers and stock rom.. i use art
would installing pa with the same custom kernel improve performance or would it be the same with features?
I don't think that flashing Paranoid Android would drastically inhance the performance of your N4, but I experienced that the system runs really smooth and I haven't had any lag since I flashed the rom. The great advantage of Paranoid Android are the added features like hover. If you really want a good overall performance you should use franco.kernel.

[Q] How to get best battery life (G2)

I've been reading a lot on customr ROM's for the G2 (I have a D802) but I was wondering what you take was on the following dilemma. One of the most important things for me is to maximize the battery life but I would also like to have a lot of customizing options. Therefore, at the least the way I see it, I have the following 2 choices:
A)
Root + improved kernel + install Xposed Framework
B)
Root + Custom ROM (CM11, PA, ...)
Maybe it's even possible/necessary to install the Xposed framework on top of the custom ROM?
What would result in the best battery life experience, stock rom or custom ROM?
Thanks for your input!
It is possible to use xposed framework on custom roms.

[Q] What is the fastest stable ROM+kernel+libs?

So searching comes up with >1 year old threads and not really answering my question.
I got a used N4 recently for my daughter, and I want it to be as fast and stable as possible. I unlocked, then ADB flashed the currrent Google image and then rooted, made it ART runtime and applied the Z2 Bionic lib zip, applied current Franco kernel. Then I was halted in terms of is that the fastest?
Is that best combination which exists right now?
Is CM11 better?
I didn't really form a concluson of the Z2 Dalvik lib vs ART.
From what I know, this patch is currently faster than ART itself:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/4-4-4-4-x-qualcomm-optimized-dalvik-t2546120
Since ART is 'experimental' right now of course it lacks of improvements, but I am sure if Android L is released this October this wouldnt be the case anymore.
Also some Custom Roms like Cyanogenmod has its own optimized bionic libs, sometimes better than the stock ones or any patches. I highly recommend you to try this out, because than you dont have to search and compare no more.
In terms of kernel, I would not recommend you to use franco's kernel on a Custom Rom. Make sure to use any other kernel. This is just my personal experiences with franco's kernel and someone might call me too dumb to use this kernel, but why do I have so much trouble with franco and every other kernel runs fine like matr1x, ak or semaphore? Judge for yourself

Right so I saw the claim that sticking with Dalvic and using the optimised Dalvik lib is faster but I gave up keeping track of it as too much "feels" and "benchmarks aren't representative" conclusion.
Noting to avoid Franco with custom ROMs. The custom one I did was CM and Franco warns to not use it!

the fastest.. whatever im using.
but really, these kinds of threads arent allowed on xda since you are asking us to compare roms. oh, ill clue you in a little, cm isnt even close to the fastest. and no, franco kernel isnt the fastest either.
Best ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA
The best bet is to head over to the development sections and try some out for yourself and see which combination suits you best

[Q] Deciding between a few Lollipop ROMs. Suggestions / user experience?

Currently running CM12, but I've been thinking between XenonHD, RastaPop, Euphoria OS, Terminus and LiquidSmooth.
Any experience about these ROMs? Most of these seem pretty same if you look at the features. But does some of these stand out?
Just start flashing and find out what you like the best.
sent with my Nexus 4.
As much as I hate CM I quite like the xenon.
Very stable and doesn't require too much micro management.
Well I had to install better battery stats but my battery problems might be down to a dodgy app.
I haven't tried them all but so far my favorite is my setup now...boostpop 2.7 with Franco sabermod kernel, overclocked to 1.7ghz max 192mhz minimum. Rro layers running giving the black look I liked on slimkat. It's as fast as I've ever felt this phone.
I've tried liquidsmooth v4 and a recent paranoid android and cm12 I think. Those are the only recent LP ROMs I've tried.

Frank Rom and Rastapop both great 5'0'2 Roms with all latest optimizations like RRO etc
