I have a Nexus 4, I got it when it first came out and then the screen cracked. So, I got the screen replaced, but then got a battery problem - it would die around 50% and be at like 10% when I turn it back on. I got a new battery, put it in and the same thing is still happening.
It's completely stock. The Nexus 4 I'm using right now is completely fine running PAbeta though.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I noticed that my nexus 7 automatically shuts down when the battery level is at around 12-14%. Is this normal? Does the nexus 7 have some sort of automatic shutdown feature to prevent battery depletion? If yes, is there a way to edit that option?
Thanks!
Does it?? Im stock rooted and the lowest I got mine to was 5% I'll give it ago today and hammer the battery see if mine shuts down

I can see the battery go down to 1% before auto-shutdown.
Stock, rooted, 4.1.1
Must be a problem with my unit then. I'll try to tinker with and see what's the problem.

Have you done a few full charge cycles since you got the N7?
i.e. fully discharge till it doesnt even power on into bootloader, then (while power off) charge to 100% in one sitting.
Repeat.
Do that a couple of times.
Im gonna try that. Thanks!

My nexus 7 was fully charged and I put it in the rack in the night. Next morning it shut down completely. When I switched it on, it showed battery 0% says 0% the same c thing happened today as well. Its a new device. Any idea??

Some app or service is draining your battery. Get BetterBatteryStats to narrow it down.

I installed battery saver app.. I will check if it can do any good..

Like someone said before it's a rogue app and the only way your going to get the battery drain issue to go away is to figure out which app is doing it and then get rid of it.

I think the best solution for you is to factory reset or re-install android on your device once.
It will be easier than finding out where is the problem. as screen snap shows most of the battery is drained by "android OS".
It was just my opinion you can take it if you want.
My battery usage. Even though my screen on time was only about 2 hrs most of the battery was drained by the screen. So there music be something very wrong in your case.
I don't know about android virus but that might be an option.

Gonna follow along and disable my daydream as well since I'm having the same problem you are with it actually draining while on the charger (Stock ROM, Franco Kernel, OEM wall wart with gold tipped USB cable). Tis quite annoying to have to either keep the screen off or power down completely in order for this bad boy to charge...
Wow check that out has anyone's device done that? Stock charger, batt went from 50% to full in round 5 mins...?!

Then, after you reboot, the percentage stays the same?
Nexus4 modded with cyanogen.
mine done that once... but it was trolling me.
After reboot? Nah.. it dropped to 28%!
Fastest discharge in history too.

My N4 did that once even worse, went from 7% to 100% in under 10 minutes, I was do confused. I had to run out so I grabbed it and took it with me, battery went to 97% after about twenty minutes then phone just shut off. Plugged in and had the red led. I plugged in and booted to recovery and let it charge a few, then booted up and it was at 3%, has been fine since.

Do you by any chance have lightflow installed...? I recently had my Nexus 4 going from 29% to 100% in perhaps 10 seconds and I have never seen this before and I have had the phone since december but have just installed lightflow about a week ago - after a restart everything was back to normal though....
No lightflow here...also hasn't happened again either so it seems random.

I've noticed now more than a few times my phone was off when I thought it was asleep. I'm running stock 4.2.2 unrooted. Basically I put my phone down and when I come down to it the only way I can wake it up is to hold the power button. What bug is this
? I haven't ran anything odd ? And I notice my battery gets cut by a good chunk . is this something I should get it exchanged at at the store? I just got this phone less than 2 weeks ago? I'm planning on going today but wanted your guys input before i go?

I am having the same problem, i have had my nexus 4 for about 6 months now. Last week it started shutting down and restarting randomly.
The battery dies when it reaches 20%, today it dropped from 54% to 6% after it restarted alone and lost my wallpaper.
If u find a solution let me know.
thats called "sod" sleep of death. its not actually powered off, its on but the screen doesnt wake. thats why you need to longpress the power button to reboot. it was aajor issue on the gnex until 4.2 came out. now its rare, but still happens. on the n4 too. its an android bug that was "fixed" for most.
how can we solve it?
google needs to fix it.
some people use this app as a temporary fix https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gejos.android.wakemyandroid
thx u, i will give it a try.
So there's no point exchanging for another at the store?

Ended up exchanging at T-Mobile store as this happened again. Sorry about posting this. I searched using my comp and found a whole thread about sod.

Just found a problem which happen several times on my Nexus 7.
When the battery is about 17%, my Nexus 7 will be turned off automatically like the device is out of battery.
I can't turn it on unless I charge it. After I charge it then I can turn it on. However the battery is still 17% which is the same as when it turned off.
I am wondering whether you have the same problem before. Thanks.
