Wow check that out has anyone's device done that? Stock charger, batt went from 50% to full in round 5 mins...?!

Then, after you reboot, the percentage stays the same?
Nexus4 modded with cyanogen.
mine done that once... but it was trolling me.
After reboot? Nah.. it dropped to 28%!
Fastest discharge in history too.
Fail

My N4 did that once even worse, went from 7% to 100% in under 10 minutes, I was do confused. I had to run out so I grabbed it and took it with me, battery went to 97% after about twenty minutes then phone just shut off. Plugged in and had the red led. I plugged in and booted to recovery and let it charge a few, then booted up and it was at 3%, has been fine since.

Do you by any chance have lightflow installed...? I recently had my Nexus 4 going from 29% to 100% in perhaps 10 seconds and I have never seen this before and I have had the phone since december but have just installed lightflow about a week ago - after a restart everything was back to normal though....
No lightflow here...also hasn't happened again either so it seems random.

Since i updated my device to 4.2.1 charging my nexus 7 really get slow..... It takes 6 hours to 7 hours to fully charge. Im using the cable and charger that it came from the unit.
Is there a fix for this one? Thanks.

AW: Is there a fix for slow charging issue?
Check whether the device charges in USB mode. It can happen for some reason I don't know. In this mode it charges much slower. I once had it happen when on AC.
It's on AC. It takes 6 hrs to fully charge from empty. =(

What do you mean by rebooting it? I have the same charging problem. It needs about five to six hours for me to charge fully. How did you solve it? Is it really the problem of android 4.2.2?
Just try rebooting it or restart the device while charging. Im using battery widget reborn app, to see how many hrs left to make my nexus 7 to be fully charged.
Here's what i do,
Plug the charger then check after 2 mins on the app battery widget reborn how many hrs left to be fully charged, if it's says more than 4 hrs or greater than that. Hit the power button and restart your device. Once the device booted up, check the remaining time left on charging if it's improved to 3 hrs or less to fully charged your device.
Try it. It's working fine for my nexus 7.

I tried the app you mentioned. But the remaining time it indicates isn't equivalent to the real time used. Maybe this app doesn't work for my device, it still needs four to five hours for my nexus being fully charged. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

Or you may try to go to bootloader, then turn it off.. Unplug the charger, then put it back in then turn on your device.. It works for me.

Hi guys, I am using paranoidandroid latest build and Franco M1 kernel. So yesterday night, as soon as I plugged in my nexus 4 for charging, it went from 30 to 100% in seconds and showed as being charged! It happend twice so far and restarting fixed it. But when I restarted, it started charging from 18%.
Is it a bug in the kernel or the ROM? Should I be worried?

AW: Charging went from 30% to 100%
I had that happen 3 or 4 times since January, once on stock rom as well. Unplugging and waiting a few seconds before plugging it in again always fixed it for me. I'm using AOKP and franco kernel at the moment.

That happened to me as well. Both on stock and on franco's kernel. It just seems that our N4 sometimes gets a little glitchy when it comes to reading off the battery percentage. As long as it's not happening consistently, I wouldn't worry at all:highfive:.
Do you have a nexus 7 I accidentally plugged my nexus 7 charger into my four and that happens instantly jumps to 100%.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
I'm using the regular charger from LG. Hopefully its just a bug and not something hardware related.
Sent from my Nexus 4
I think its usually caused by using a charger other than the one supplied or when you have just used the usb and then put it into the mains shortly after.
I'm stock and in rooted. Use stock charger. Happened last night to me. Unplugged a few times and it worked. Weird

known bug, im using only stock charger and it happened few times, i used restart and recharged it
Just reboot and charge again
Hey guys!
Today my phone was at about 10% charge, so I decided to charge it. After I plugged it in, it immediately said charged (I unplugged it after it said charged). After about 30mins the phone completely turned off and wouldn't turn on. When I went home and plugged it in, a red light started to blink. After fiddling around with it and finally being able to turn it on, I went into the battery menu and realized there was a sudden drop. I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me why it happened, a fix/ a way to prevent this from happening!
Edit: I am using paranoid android 3.69 with twrp 2.6 and Franco kernel 3.4 milestone 3
Android 4.2.2

thats a pretty big issue, but I just ran into a similar issue. My battery life was at 73, and then i powered off the phone then powered it back on. it was still at 73. then i powered off again and powered on again and it was down to 65. Not sure why that is, did you power off/on your like this too?

Woah, this is either a big coincidence or has something to do w/ PA. I had same thing happen to me and I had to RMA my phone. It had only been a few days since I had installed PA for the first time.
What do you mean by "I had to RMA my phone"? Sorry i dont know many terms.

Didn't unlocking the boot loader void the warranty? How did you get a replacement?

My friend recently bought an imported nexus 4 from eBay(on my advice). He's having a strange a problem. The device works normally till the battery drains below 50%. But then it suddenly turns off and doesn't turn back on again. When he connects the charger, it's stats charging from 0% again. The charging process is also normal.
Anyone had this type of problem?

Whats the rom and kernel?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Try charging it to 100%, disconnect charger, reboot and check if it already lost some charge during reboot. If yes charge full again.
I had something similar (not a total drop, but a fast drop when below 50%) a few days ago and this helped. I don't know why, though.

I think you should try both suggestions.
Also inform us what is the ROM and Kernel he is using.
Keep us updated.
Hi guys.after install slimkat my battery is acting weird.it shutdowns when in 22% or evento more.also when i restart the phone the % is way different then it was. And dont matter what% is. On the third reboot that i do the levrl drops to 1%.should i try recalibrating it?(let it shutdown then recharge it 6 hours with it turned off)?.
If i have to rma again.then i sell this thing because not even my China tab is giving all these problems.( my n4 was exchanged and the new gone to rma 2 times already in 1month!)
