I have Galaxy Note 2 running with OmniROM. None of the Google Apps and Yahoo Mail! work. Gmail says "wait for syncing" forever and Yahoo says "Loading" forever!
Tried all solutions I could find, none of which work for me:
- Making sure Auto-sync is checked in Settings
- Uncheck and check Auto-Sync for Gmail
- Clear Data for Gmail app and Yahoo Mail app
What should I do? Thanks.

Ok, I have got three Gmail accounts. One private as a regular gmail service, one on a standard Gmail Apps and a business mail hosted as a Google Apps Premier Edition. The two first works just fine syncing mails, while the Premier Edition cannot sync emails on my HTC Magic mobile.
Strangely when I set it up, it takes down all my email, but afterwards in "Data Synchronization" under setting I get the error message "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly". It stays on forever. Contacts and calender syncs perfectly. I have with no luck tried to clear all data as described by Google: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=113869.
Is there a genius who can give me a hint? What is the trick?
Thanks in advance
My gmail isn't syncing.
- Notifications are properly enabled
- Sync Gmail is checked in the accounts & sync settings
- If i uncheck and recheck it, my e-mail comes in, but doesn't push again
I'm on CM .5.3. Any help?
mine wasn't either. and i'm on stock. had to press refresh about 4 times to get it to pull up 2 emails.
It's not syncing on my Evo or iPad...Anyone having this issue?
Yes I was having the same problem recently. It "seems" like its syncing on the phone, but when I checked yahoo mail from their website on my PC it clearly was not.
(edit & update)
I used IMAP with yahoo mail... and this is what I found to be my problem:
It turned out that mine was in the settings, I had recently updated my password and only updated it on the "incoming server settings" on my phone, but on the outgoing server settings I did not update the password. So I would receive new mail but it would not sync properly when I delete the messages and marked them as read.
I am also having problems with my yahoo email not syncing. The problem is it will sync emails fine through 5/7/11, but not after that date. I tried deleting the email account in the mail app, and set it up again. It downloaded all emails through 5/7/11, but none of my newer ones. I have a yahoo plus (pop) mail account, but have always used the standard IMAP settings that auto-populate when setting up the account. Did Yahoo make any service changes recently? I am using the app on an Evo.
I prefer to use my computer to manage my email, but the GMail app on the rooted nook not only checks the mail, but seems to mark them in such a way that my normal mail client won't download them (Thunderbird set to the POP server). I don't have it set to archive messages, so I am not sure how it is marking them - I assume it is marking them as read, but when I check my GMail on the website they still show as unread. Does anyone know a way to change this behavior? I wouldn't mind completely disabling the app as I really don't intend using my nook as an email client.
Thanks
Turn of Gmail
Setting->Account & Sync->Manage Account->your [email protected] unchecked sync Gmail

I was having the problem where I would my email, delete it, etc from my phone and it wouldn't update as such on my actual account. I just went to settings>applications>Manage applications>gmail>Clear data & Clear Cache
It started working fine after that.

I can't seem to find these settings - are you talking about on the Nook, or in my Gmail account online? In the Nook GMail settings, I find a "Labels" setting which allows me to set what is synchronized and how far back in days to keep sync'ed, but only the 'Important' and 'Starred' entries allow me to select 'Sync None' - the others (like Inbox) don't have that option. I can't find anything in my Gmail settings the gmail website, but maybe I am not looking in the right place...?
Thanks again
Account & Sync is not available under Settings on the NC.
I recommend to use IMAP and not POP with your GMail account in Thunderbird.
Then you'll see all your mails also when read on your NC. They will be indicated as read. The same the other way around: if you read them first in Thunderbird they will be indicated as read in Gmail on your NC.
Also moving to folders (changing labels in GMail speak) works both ways. Read up on using IMAP on the Gmail help pages.
I have noticed that in the past couple days that the gmail app is not autosyncing the new messages. I am not recieving notifications for new messages. If i hit refresh in gmail it downloads all the new messages.
I have checked all the sync setting in Settings/Accounts and Sync and everything is on and set correctly. Notifications are also set correctly in gmail.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling gmail but the problem persists. Anybody else having this problem also and know of a solution?

Go into the application settings and clear the data from the phone. Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> GMail
The phone will then sync again from the servers.
I was having this issue too and it stemmed from a bad rom flash. After wiping completely and reflashing, it was fine.
