I suffer from a buggy WiFi after I installed the Official TW 4.4.2 poland. When I try to turn the wifi on, it takes a very long time, then I have to re-enter the password of my home hotspot again ( each time the wifi is on ).
I tried many solutions like : factory reset, flash leak firmware, flash custom rom. But none of it corrected the problem.
When I searched through the forum I found out that I'm not the only one having this problem, as samsung changed the wifi driver in the latest rom.
Anyone that have the same problem or could help solve it feel free to express his mind.
Thanks

...Really. No reply. I have had this issue from the moment I flashed the Poland firmware and it just won'tgo away.
At first it wouldn't turn on after initial setup and google account starts restoring. At least now (after flashing and reflashing and redownloading and and ... I can't even remember now) it comes back on after a reboot but it takes a while to actually come on and I have to re-enter ssid and password etc EVERY time!... I change my mind now...:silly: take me back to a speedy 4.3 = ( The longer I use the same ROM, the happier I get with my fine-tuning - And then I go change ROM. Always regret it. I just want that one feature from that ROM integrated into mine but before I know it, I'm flash happy for days on end trying to discover a new ROM which is never better than months of tweaking the ROM you already had! This update is terrible. It lags here, there and every 15seconds it feels like.
Can you please tell me if you've managed to sort out your WiFi issue?
..Sorry for my moan. In a way (and I apologise for this) but I'm almost glad I've found someone else with the same issue.
Today I will find the solution. And let you know when I do

I'm happy to have your support. and I assure you that I'm looking desperately to find a solution too. back in th general thread (Official kitkat for N9005 ) I commented on 4 people having this issue. there was no support that's why I thought I'd come to Help and troubleshooting thread.
Yeh there are a couple of others with this issue but not many surprisingly. I made my first comment regarding this issue in that thread but it didn't seem to affect many.
I have downloaded every ROM that can be flashed with 4.4.2 Bootloader and I'm just about to begin trying them all. Seeing as though the problem has come in through Odin I'm not sure if flashing these ROM's through CWM will affect it.
...About to find out

OMG:laugh::good:
First one I tried.. well, it's about the 4th ROM I've tried in the last few days but IT WORKS IT WORKS!
After Initial setup it usually lasts 15-20 seconds before itauto disconnects and I know from then on I have problems.
The first switch on, which is like the 3rd step in setup, Wifi flicked 'On' almost instantly and I knew it was different straight away. I've rebooted and it auto connected to my wifi!
Download and flash JACKAWAY ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555247
It uses aroma installer too.
The only problem that has persisted through everything but hasn't bothered me is I get 'Force Close' of Remote Controls. Don;t know why but that is still happening.
I wonder if the misses is still talking to me ...
---------- Post added at 12:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:04 PM ----------
I removed SDCard this time also. I still haven't put it back in. Just so you know, I installed, setupand rebooted first time Without SDcard inserted.
Best of luck

Wifi is fast again. And it isn't lagging like it was
I got the remote controls force close too. I'm gonna try jack away right away abd see if things are gonna go as well as the went for you. But I didn't understand the sd card part of the process. Did you removed it right after you flashed the rom, befire it restarted ?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
By the way, the remote control (2 of them) are for controlingyour phone from distance to lock it fir exemple if it you got robbed. It's samsung staff. So you may just wanna uninstall it
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I turned the phone off completely. Then took battery off and removed the SD. Put battery back in and booted into Recovery (Vol_up + home). Then I plugged in my USBHost adapter with a 32gb USB stick which had the Jackaway ROM zip on it. Then just went to 'Install zip' -> 'choose zip from /storage/usbdisk' and selected 'Jackaway ROM.zip'
If you don't have a USB On-the-go cable, then plug into your computer and copy the ROM file to /sdcard (make sure you don't copy the file to /ExtSdCard otherwise it won't be there when you boot into recovery without the SDcard! Then turn phone 'Off'. Remove SD. andboot into Recovery. Erase data/factory reset, format /system. Choose 'Install zip from /sdcard'. Wulla
Let meknow if you get stuck
---------- Post added at 12:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:43 PM ----------
Yeh I figured that was it. In titanium backup there are 3 x 'remote controls'. Don't know which one is causing the problem so i'll freeze them one by one and sort it.
Thanks man. As soon as I flash it I'll give a feed back

Same issues here. My WiFi password is forgotten and remote controls FC after every reboot. Tried everything. Weird that It only happens to a very few users. Will try Jackyaway ROM as suggested to see how it works. I personally want something as close to stock as possible.
Tried jackaway rom and it worked. Awesome !!!

If anyone has any tips or hints please let me know it would be a lot of help, thanks
Was your bootloader unlocked?
Did you try to update it yesterday?
Sent from my XPlay using XDA App.
Yes it's unlocked anjd no i didn't but my guess is if the update was the problem it probably happen while i was sleeping because it was fine while i went to bed and i woke up to my phone being a paper weight
anyway to fix it or am i boned?
The thread immediately below covered this. You can restore using the following guide and your computer.

Funny, I literally just found this after i posted. I'm back in fastboot now and in CWM and restoring now so have my fingers crossed. But thanks for the help. Now I know to turn my phone off before I go to sleep now lol

Gratz.. I never knew it auto updates. You can turn off your wifi and data before going to sleep next time. Instead of turning off the entire phone.

I've done that the past few days and don't know if i need to worry about it and more cause since I got my phone running again my update always force closes so good for me i guess
Cannot download from the market after recovering
I had the same issue. After recovering with flashtool, I cannot download from the market. Getting an error message stating that the device does not have sufficient space. I currently have 75mb available.
That's why I have been leaving Wifi on at night.
i can download from the market jus fine i grabbed root unistaller and froze mobile care and download agent and waiting to see if that will fix it but will keep you posted
UPDATE- Seems to have done the trick so just a heads up, you might want to try it
Hi - I have had my Nexus for several months and its been great, using nightlies from CM and nothing too exotic.
Anyway - the latest nightly completely messed up my phone, can't make calls etc, so I tried to flash it back to a stable release - the problems were still there.
Then I tried another CM - and I entered the CM symbol on loop - so I knew something was wrong.
So I try for the complete factory image reinstall, I wipe EVERYTHING from the phone so all I have now is a blank phone.
So I can get into bootloader - I can get into recovery - but I can't do anything as there are no files on the phone (so recovery doesn't help).
I downloaded the Google Nexus 4 Toolkit - and when I try and connect the phone via USB - it can't even locate it - the program says "Waiting for device".
I'm a bit lost here lads! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I'm not sure but similar thing happened to me with my S3, I was bricked for days, something I tried was UNrooting the device, completely wiping it clean with stock firmware and doing few other specific things for my device, maybe try flashing a stock Rom to get it alive again and once your into your device then you can flash whatever else you want, another good thing to do is always make a backup of your rom Inc efs files, but try this now you may be able to get the stock firmware from here or online, hope it helps

I had the same issue I installed the latest Samsung drivers onto the pc still had no joy and I'm sure I found a stock firmware from a site saved it to my external card n tried flashing it via recovery, it was ok after that, mine was an md5 file, try that also if it doesn't work with the drives, try using Odin, hopefully it should work, sorry I can't be more precise as my experience was with a different device, hopefully you'll get it working, gather as much information you can about unbricking, there's some videos on YouTube you may find one for your same device

I think Im in a bit of trouble as I cant even use any PC based solutions given the phone is connected to the PC by USB and I have bootloader menu up.

If you're using the tool kit there is an option to install the drivers. That should be the first thing you do. Try a different cable or port or PC until you get the right combination and fastboot sees the device. Good luck

You should be in fastboot mode while you're trying to install the drivers, but follow the instructions in the toolkit. It's pretty much idiot proof.

I ended up searching for the drivers when I downloading the SDK from Google - seemed to recognize the Fastboot set up.
Then I followed these instructions to flash stock 4.3 on.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
Thanks for the advice though guys - I really appreciate it!
I'll just start with how I flashed from the beginning
I337UCUAMDB - May 2, 2013
CASUAL
Stayed there for a while.
Last night I wiped:
/data, /cache, /dalvik, and /system
Flashed Hyperdrive RLS12
Flashed RLS12 - AT&T Compatibility Pack
Rebooted
It seemed to boot fine, but when I unlocked the screen the Google keyboard immediately force closed, then system quit responding so I couldn't even click the Ok button on the force close dialog for a couple minutes. Even after this, everything was very slow. I quickly realized that most of my hardware buttons were misbehaving. Either they only worked when I long pressed them, or they didn't work at all, except for the Home button.
I suspected that the AT&T Compatibility zip was the kernel I would need to make this Verizon-based ROM work on my phone but I wasn't sure if that's true or if I would need a separate kernel zip to flash.
Afterwards I ended up using Odin twice to return to stock MDB and then CASUAL to get root and recovery back.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Have you read it's thread and directions for at&t users ?
Normally if you had a wrong kernel it wouldn't even boot. Honestly if you are new I'd stick to at&t or i9505 ported ROMs. MDB allows you free reign to try all the ROMs.
I suspect you got a bad download or something was missing.

I'm not new to flashing per se but I broke this phone two weeks after I bought it and just recently got it fixed. I included everything because I wasn't sure where something may have gone wrong. Maybe I came from the wrong base or something. I'll link to this thread in the ROM thread

TWRP from CASUAL

Well you didnt have to odin bud. Just make a backup of the rom your on in twrp. Leave it on your sd. I backup to external bc it takes too much space on internal. And try flashing the rom again. Maybe redownload it bc it might be a bad download. I too had the keyboard force closing so I reflashed and only checked swype keyboard in the installer so no more keyboard fc. If you have an issue after flashing the rom just boot recovery and restore your backup instead of using odin.
The hardware button issue and slowness is from force closing. When something fc"es the whole system kinda freezes up and becomes unresponsive. Just dont install any keyboards from the aroma except swype. Try it that way and let it sit for a few minutes after booting. I also suggest using ktoonsez 4.3 tw kernel. You can find it under origional development and flash in recovery after roms installed
As far as how you flashed everything was done right. You can try not wiping manually and just choose full wipe in the aroma installer.
Hope everything goes well if not then just come back here and let us know so we can help
---------- Post added at 02:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:55 PM ----------
Also get the app greenify and greenify everything but your launcher
I had issues getting it up and runing as well. took me downloading it a couple times and probably flashing it 4 times. Not sure what was going on. rather than ODIN, I would do a battery pull, hold VOL+ and power and force it into recovery and reflashed. a few times...
Thanks for the replies guys. I used Odin because my external SD is full..I need to buy a bigger one.. anyway I'll download a new copy while I'm getting ready for work and try flashing it on the way.

I have had my S5 for two days now. I haven't done any modifications to it and have kept it completing stock. I was browsing the internet in Chrome when I got a notification saying there was a security breach and that the phone needed to restart in order to undue any changes made. So I pressed the restart button and it started to restart normally until I saw in tiny blue text "RECOVERY BOOTING....", I didn't think much of it until nothing started to happen after a minute. I let it go for another 5 minutes and then 15 minutes. I came back and still it was at the same screen. I decided to turn the device off and on to see if that would do anything, nothing happened. I took the battery out and waited a few minutes to put it back in, again nothing new. I was looking into other threads about this happening to other phones because the S5 is so new there is nothing on it doing this. But I found no useful information. So my question is, how can I fix this? I don't mind having to reset it, there's only a few apps installed. I'm tech savvy, so I'll now what you mean if you give me any tips. Thank you!
If doesn't matter if you lost the installed apps, then boot to recovery and choose wipe data reset factory and then wipe data cache.then restart your mobile it should solve your problem.

Did you get an answer? Am having the same issue
Hello XDA
In the last month or so, every time i get a call, my screen will not turn on. To answer the call i must press the power button, pull down the call notification and press answer. The phone is ringing and vibrating until i press the power button.
I am using the newest nougat (7.1.1) on my Nexus 6p. (i use sec. 9 of this guide to update my phone.)
After searching on every forum using google and usually get old posts for old and not updated devices I've decided to post here.
Since i'm not new to android and consider myself not a noob, I came across this in the notification settings:
The phone app is shown under "Shown silently" and tagged as Silenced:
TinyPic
And I cant change this "silenced" mode.. as you can see here:
TinyPic
**Sorry for the images, i cant upload because i have less than 10 posts
What should i do? Factory reset is my least favorite option. Is there anther way to change these settings?
Thank you so much!
I am having the same issue over the past month or so. Am running the stock nougat beta version with locked bootloader. Other call services like Skype, WhatsApp, etc. wake up the phone screen in incoming calls.

You might want to consider using a custom dialer instead of the stock phone app. You could also try clearing the cache for that particular app and if that doesn't work try wiping the system cache. You can also download the apk for that app and reinstall over the factory version, which might reset the settings.

Rereading how you updated your phone I think you made a mistake in not doing a clean install. You might be using an old version of the phone app that isn't compatible with Nougat.
