Help!!!!! My play is dead (r800x) - Xperia Play General

So, I woke up this morning to find my phone off even thouight it was on the charger. Tried to turn it on and nothing happened just vibrates like it's going to turn on and then nothing. I have tried other batteries, hold the power button down and still nothing. I also can't even get into fastboot to do a recovery. I NEED HELP!!!! If anyone has any tips or hints please let me know it would be a lot of help, thanks

Was your bootloader unlocked?
Did you try to update it yesterday?
Sent from my XPlay using XDA App.

Yes it's unlocked anjd no i didn't but my guess is if the update was the problem it probably happen while i was sleeping because it was fine while i went to bed and i woke up to my phone being a paper weight
anyway to fix it or am i boned?

The thread immediately below covered this. You can restore using the following guide and your computer.

Funny, I literally just found this after i posted. I'm back in fastboot now and in CWM and restoring now so have my fingers crossed. But thanks for the help. Now I know to turn my phone off before I go to sleep now lol

IT WORKED!!! Got nervous for a sec when it was on the slpash for a few minutes but booted and I'm running again this tool is a life saver

Gratz.. I never knew it auto updates. You can turn off your wifi and data before going to sleep next time. Instead of turning off the entire phone.

I've done that the past few days and don't know if i need to worry about it and more cause since I got my phone running again my update always force closes so good for me i guess

Cannot download from the market after recovering
I had the same issue. After recovering with flashtool, I cannot download from the market. Getting an error message stating that the device does not have sufficient space. I currently have 75mb available.

That's why I have been leaving Wifi on at night.

i can download from the market jus fine i grabbed root unistaller and froze mobile care and download agent and waiting to see if that will fix it but will keep you posted
UPDATE- Seems to have done the trick so just a heads up, you might want to try it

Whooops

Hoping someone out there can give me some advice, beyond I'm bricked for good.
Odin'd, then flashed Bionix on my Vibrant, and it was working great.
Then, just not thinking, I flashed the Bali 2.2 kernal.
Now, it's in a loop. The Bali can't load. Was thinking that I could Odin it again, but it won't even go into download mode.
Any help would be appreciated.
Have you gotten into download mode BEFORE?
What method are you using to get into download mode? - Somtimes you have to remove your battery, sd card, and sim and then do the steps it just works sometimes, and doesnt the others.
dont worry your not bricked. just soft bricked, which can be fixed.
Hey, thanks for the response. Yes, I have been in download many times. I'm guessing that Bali 2.2 is not compatible with Bionix, which I didn't think about in time. My bad.
I did remove pretty much everything, but not the SIM card. I will try that.
I did find this post, which may be the solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
Not much at soldering, but no time like the present to learn.
Edit: Removed them all, and same results. Ordered the parts I need as mentioned in the link above, and have my fingers crossed. Course, out a phone for at least a week I would guess.
I haven't been in download mode in a while either - didnt have any purpose to going there...
so i found a thread which tells you exactly how
(p.s. i dont get this V so... i made my own version at the bottom of this post )
1. Get into Download Mode (WITH THE PHONE PLUGGED IN) by following the steps below
*Turn off the phone until you get to the charging battery screen (keep in mind, your phone is currently PLUGGED IN)
*Press volume up and down, and power all at once.
*As soon as the screen turns black, release your power button.
The link you posted is called a JIG, it will work 100% for soft bricks. but you say youve been in download mode on that phone before so your not hardware locked.
Here's my version of the download mode tut:
Take all things out, battery, sim, sd.
plug your phone with USB (keep battery still out)
after plugging with usb, start holding BOTH of the volume buttons.
Then while holding the buttons, put in your battery.
Then you should be on download mode.
I wish either was the solution. Nothing.
I get the same thing each time. First a green Android comes up (this is from flashing the GB bootloader). Then the Bali logo shows, then for just a brief moment, you can see that something is trying to load in CWM, but it happens so fast I can't read it, then it loops over and over and over...
Do you not think the JIG will work in my case? I ordered all the parts for it since I'm already feeling desperate.

Oh you flashed GB bootloaders... uhm, i've never actually done that so idk if theres a different combo to get into download mode like that... but sorry thats all i know.
Yeah I'm about 99% sure that it will work with a JIG. Are you building it or just ordering a pre-made jig?
Do you have the red recovery? If you do you can boot into download mode from there.

I was doing everything I could to see any results, and suddenly I was in Red Recovery. I tried to restore back to where I was with just Bionix and not Bali, and now it's just sitting on the GB bootloader green Android. I felt like I was getting somewhere all of a sudden, but now it's like 1 step forward/2 steps backward.

Are you still able to get into recovery? you never mentioned being able to get into recovery lol.
The newer CWR's now have the download mode option...
hopefully you can still get into recovery!
That one time recovery came up....shocked me!.....and now it's gone. I have no idea how I got there (I was just playing around, trying anything) and there it was, but no more.
Flashing gb bootloaders might have changed your recovery and download mode layout. Try the combionations you normally do + the home button.

Thank you! Was looking for a way to flash ics without having to flashing bootloader. I don't mind the extra steps, and your video looks very easy to follow! Can not wait to try it all out, hopefully I can find time tomorrow after work.

Can't Get Into Recovery
Hello,
I watched the video and was trying out as per instructions but I have run into a problem. I'll list down the steps
1. I successfully installed CM7 after backup as per instructions.
2. Backed up CM7 in recovery mode and wiped the cache as per instructions
3. Selected the ICS zip that I had downloaded into the SD card.
Now the phone is in a loop that just shows Samsung vibrant initial screen. I can't even get into the recovery mode when I press the volume up/down and the power button.
I thought I could used ODIN but the phone isn't even getting into the download mode when connected to USB.
Can you please help? I'm totally stuck

Success!
Yess!! I did it.
Went to bed. Couldn't sleep. Had to have it.
Installed clockwork rom manager premium and tried from within that tool and it worked.
Some things I learned.
1. The procedure in the video did not work with stock Android 2.2. Had to go back to 2.1 using odin.
2. Invest in good tools like clockwork mod.
Have had this phone for 2 years. Hated it every day and was envious of iPhone users. Cursed Android. Came to this site many times and was scared away by the loads of text.
Then I saw this video that promised nirvana in 10 mins. Took me 5 hours but learned odin and all the good stuff to be able to flash the rom.
I feel great.
And you guys are amazing!

WiFi problem on TW 4.4.2

I suffer from a buggy WiFi after I installed the Official TW 4.4.2 poland. When I try to turn the wifi on, it takes a very long time, then I have to re-enter the password of my home hotspot again ( each time the wifi is on ).
I tried many solutions like : factory reset, flash leak firmware, flash custom rom. But none of it corrected the problem.
When I searched through the forum I found out that I'm not the only one having this problem, as samsung changed the wifi driver in the latest rom.
Anyone that have the same problem or could help solve it feel free to express his mind.
Thanks

...Really. No reply. I have had this issue from the moment I flashed the Poland firmware and it just won'tgo away.
At first it wouldn't turn on after initial setup and google account starts restoring. At least now (after flashing and reflashing and redownloading and and ... I can't even remember now) it comes back on after a reboot but it takes a while to actually come on and I have to re-enter ssid and password etc EVERY time!... I change my mind now...:silly: take me back to a speedy 4.3 = ( The longer I use the same ROM, the happier I get with my fine-tuning - And then I go change ROM. Always regret it. I just want that one feature from that ROM integrated into mine but before I know it, I'm flash happy for days on end trying to discover a new ROM which is never better than months of tweaking the ROM you already had! This update is terrible. It lags here, there and every 15seconds it feels like.
Can you please tell me if you've managed to sort out your WiFi issue?
..Sorry for my moan. In a way (and I apologise for this) but I'm almost glad I've found someone else with the same issue.
Today I will find the solution. And let you know when I do

I'm happy to have your support. and I assure you that I'm looking desperately to find a solution too. back in th general thread (Official kitkat for N9005 ) I commented on 4 people having this issue. there was no support that's why I thought I'd come to Help and troubleshooting thread.
Yeh there are a couple of others with this issue but not many surprisingly. I made my first comment regarding this issue in that thread but it didn't seem to affect many.
I have downloaded every ROM that can be flashed with 4.4.2 Bootloader and I'm just about to begin trying them all. Seeing as though the problem has come in through Odin I'm not sure if flashing these ROM's through CWM will affect it.
...About to find out

OMG:laugh::good:
First one I tried.. well, it's about the 4th ROM I've tried in the last few days but IT WORKS IT WORKS!
After Initial setup it usually lasts 15-20 seconds before itauto disconnects and I know from then on I have problems.
The first switch on, which is like the 3rd step in setup, Wifi flicked 'On' almost instantly and I knew it was different straight away. I've rebooted and it auto connected to my wifi!
Download and flash JACKAWAY ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555247
It uses aroma installer too.
The only problem that has persisted through everything but hasn't bothered me is I get 'Force Close' of Remote Controls. Don;t know why but that is still happening.
I wonder if the misses is still talking to me ...
---------- Post added at 12:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:04 PM ----------

Best of luck

I got the remote controls force close too. I'm gonna try jack away right away abd see if things are gonna go as well as the went for you. But I didn't understand the sd card part of the process. Did you removed it right after you flashed the rom, befire it restarted ?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
By the way, the remote control (2 of them) are for controlingyour phone from distance to lock it fir exemple if it you got robbed. It's samsung staff. So you may just wanna uninstall it
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I turned the phone off completely. Then took battery off and removed the SD. Put battery back in and booted into Recovery (Vol_up + home). Then I plugged in my USBHost adapter with a 32gb USB stick which had the Jackaway ROM zip on it. Then just went to 'Install zip' -> 'choose zip from /storage/usbdisk' and selected 'Jackaway ROM.zip'
If you don't have a USB On-the-go cable, then plug into your computer and copy the ROM file to /sdcard (make sure you don't copy the file to /ExtSdCard otherwise it won't be there when you boot into recovery without the SDcard! Then turn phone 'Off'. Remove SD. andboot into Recovery. Erase data/factory reset, format /system. Choose 'Install zip from /sdcard'. Wulla
Let meknow if you get stuck
---------- Post added at 12:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:43 PM ----------
Yeh I figured that was it. In titanium backup there are 3 x 'remote controls'. Don't know which one is causing the problem so i'll freeze them one by one and sort it.

[Q] Galaxy S5 Stuck in Infinite Recovery Boot Cycle

I have had my S5 for two days now. I haven't done any modifications to it and have kept it completing stock. I was browsing the internet in Chrome when I got a notification saying there was a security breach and that the phone needed to restart in order to undue any changes made. So I pressed the restart button and it started to restart normally until I saw in tiny blue text "RECOVERY BOOTING....", I didn't think much of it until nothing started to happen after a minute. I let it go for another 5 minutes and then 15 minutes. I came back and still it was at the same screen. I decided to turn the device off and on to see if that would do anything, nothing happened. I took the battery out and waited a few minutes to put it back in, again nothing new. I was looking into other threads about this happening to other phones because the S5 is so new there is nothing on it doing this. But I found no useful information. So my question is, how can I fix this? I don't mind having to reset it, there's only a few apps installed. I'm tech savvy, so I'll now what you mean if you give me any tips. Thank you!
If doesn't matter if you lost the installed apps, then boot to recovery and choose wipe data reset factory and then wipe data cache.then restart your mobile it should solve your problem.

Screen will not turn on during an incoming call

Hello XDA
In the last month or so, every time i get a call, my screen will not turn on. To answer the call i must press the power button, pull down the call notification and press answer. The phone is ringing and vibrating until i press the power button.
I am using the newest nougat (7.1.1) on my Nexus 6p. (i use sec. 9 of this guide to update my phone.)
After searching on every forum using google and usually get old posts for old and not updated devices I've decided to post here.
Since i'm not new to android and consider myself not a noob, I came across this in the notification settings:
The phone app is shown under "Shown silently" and tagged as Silenced:
TinyPic
And I cant change this "silenced" mode.. as you can see here:
TinyPic
**Sorry for the images, i cant upload because i have less than 10 posts
What should i do? Factory reset is my least favorite option. Is there anther way to change these settings?
Thank you so much!
I am having the same issue over the past month or so. Am running the stock nougat beta version with locked bootloader. Other call services like Skype, WhatsApp, etc. wake up the phone screen in incoming calls.

You might want to consider using a custom dialer instead of the stock phone app. You could also try clearing the cache for that particular app and if that doesn't work try wiping the system cache. You can also download the apk for that app and reinstall over the factory version, which might reset the settings.

Rereading how you updated your phone I think you made a mistake in not doing a clean install. You might be using an old version of the phone app that isn't compatible with Nougat. I don't see the same selections as you under my phone app. I would definitely download the latest apk for the phone app and install it over the version you are using,

Hello jhs39! Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it
I already tried to uninstalling and installing the phone app and currently using the latest version. (Google Phone 7.0.141193972)
Could you please recommend me a good alternative to the phone app. I dont want to download one with ads or something that will screw my phone.
Thanks again!

I like ExDialer because there are a lot of themes but the Pro Key is 3.99. I haven't used any other third party dialers so I can't recommend another one.
Hello again!
For everyone arriving for this post, i just want to say the only solution i found to be working is the factory reset.
I had no choice because i missed a lot of calls. and every alternative to the phone app wasn't in my taste.
Tnx jhs39 for the help!
I'm glad you got the problem resolved to your satisfaction.
