Either try a phone shop, a local Samsung store, or Samsung.com
Are you sure it's the charger IC and not the USB connector. I have never seen a charge IC fail at a samsung yet. If its the connector you can do 2 things, solder a new one yourself for under 10bucks or get a replacement piece of the logic board its on (~50bucks).
Connectors and cracked screens are not part of warranty service, its fault by user policy.

Try another USB charger, it won't affect the device, or as the post above yours said, check if it's the device not the charger.

Grateful
Thanks for your help
Damn i totally misunderstood you, i thought you meant an "IC" instead of an "AC".
The IC is a small component that regulates the power supply on your motherboard

ok, I think I have a major problem with my phone. My charger plug is lose... more like 1 of the pin in my charger hole is lose... when I plug in, my phone can charge, but it just won't sync. if I apply a small force on it, it will sync... if I remove the force, it will lose connection.
Is there replacement part for this?
Why not try the warranty?

If the phone is still under warranty have you tried getting it fixed for free under warranty (assuming it's all factory default config before sending it back - reverted if needed)? Yes I've seen links here for companies that perform extUSB socket replacements as it seems quite a common issue (never had this issue myself) but it's not an insignificant cost.

Your warranty will be with the selling company or if they're no longer in business, try HTC in the country it was purchased from (having your purchase receipt to hand). It may well be cheaper (and less hassel) to make a few phone calls and post it to them than have to fix it yourself but they may be able to arrange for it to be repaired while your 'visiting' overseas (Canada).
This was posted at Tilt Mobility forum just recently http://tiltmobility.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=63
Well i have the same problem too i went to that website abdt its $79.00 plus shipping just for yout infomation.. I might try them out.
https://store.google.com/product/usb_type_c_18w_power_adapter
The metal piece of the charger that actually plugs into the phone disconnected from the cable. Project Fi is going to refund me after I purchase, but they sent me the link to order that specific charger for the refund. The requirement section mentions I need a USB Type-C enabled device, but the "Enjoy it with" section only mentions the Pixel.
Thanks for any clarification!

You only hope is contacting the vendor that you bought it from and pursue them for the guaranteed 1 yr warranty exchange or service. I did this recently with Mailstop.
Just a few days ago , I read that these phones are selling extremely well. The problem is that they lost face in China and investors avoid them like the plague. Although Letv did pay off $15 million in debt just a few days ago. Next, they filed partial bankruptcy in China...not full. So who knows?
Good Luck,
FYI There are parts available and services available ( In India, Russian and Italy) that may be able to repair the phone if you can't get it exchanged.

Before you consider exchange, try another usb cable, most of the time simply getting another cable is all you need to do.
Yes, Amazon/MailStop replaced the phone with a brand new one.
Mine came with faulty usb cable that fried the usb card. Unfortunately this has happened on many Leeco phones, and it happens on many phones that never had any other OS installed other than the stock EUI.
I believe Amazon has changed their cell phone return policy. But, it they advertised the warranty when you bought the phone they will honor the warranty. Just call Amazon, be polite, explain that the phone will no longer charge, probably due to a faulty usb cable or low quality battery.
They will create a case, where they contact the vendor and give the vendor 2 days to reach you. Mail-stop responds quickly by sending a shipping label. Return the phone in the box in came in with everything that came with the phone, headphones, CDLA adapter etc.
They will send a brand new phone in exchange.
Worst case, if you cannot get a warranty exchange for some reason. Just buy another battery on eBay X720 and X727 have cross compatible parts.

My phone has always been stock emu. At first I had to restart phone or turn off to charge. Then a day later the port got hot and smoked and the connector was melted in the charging port. Luckily I was nearby. After removing the connector from the port with a pair of channel locks the phone worked just fine. I foolishly tried to charge again and burned another cord up. The phone still functions fine but port is dangerous and destroyed.

Guys How can I request full refund from Oneplus for the OP5 phone in India? Oneplus Refund link This Oneplus offical indian website link says I can refund within 15 days.
Have anyone got full refund from Oneplus before? Whats the process? The process is not clearly explained in the Indian Oneplus website clearly.
Can I just go to service center in bangalore and return it?

I bought the phone from amazon.in so my orders page is empty in oneplus website. Amazon.in customer care saying they dont have policy to refund in 10 days but only replacement
Most eCommerce sites have kept only replacement policy for a very obvious reason. If there is an issue you have with the phone, you would want a replacement not a refund.
If eCommerce sites start giving 'no questions asked' refunds, people will try out every new launch for 10 days and return it.
Even replacement is tough now in amazon.in.........technician visits you and checks the phone...if he is convinced that it is faulty then replacement will be provided otherwise no.........I just returned mine as it was a faulty device and since there was no replacement peice available they agreed for refund.....may i know why are you returning?

I too am feeling a slight buzz in the metal body when the phone is being charged using an AC adapter, but not when using a power bank. It becomes worse if you use a non OP charger from say Anker, Samsung, etc. How did Amazon proceed with the replacement?
Is there anybody else who is facing this issue?

Please note: Self Service RMA is only applicable to devices purchased on OnePlus.net. You will need to contact OnePlus Customer Support Team if you purchased your device from one of our official distributors.

It has nothing to with earthing/ground as the adapter is 2 pin and lacks the 3rd earthing pin.
Besides, I have used the same OP5 adapter with my OP2 and there's no buzzing effect. All my phones work perfectly with the OP5 adapter and with adapters from other manufacturers. including Samsung, Apple and Anker. You won't feel this when you're using a power bank.

Bro, if you feel a buzz with all metal handsets there's some issue. Please check for earth leakage (earth faults increase during the monsoon) and power supply frequency. You may need to ask your electrician to check the wiring and the earthing in your home. Please do this at the earliest as faulty wiring is risky.
For e.g. I just checked at my place; voltage is 242 VAC, frequency is 50.01 Hz and earth leakage average voltage is 0.55V, well within recommended limits.
even i have this buzz effectt.. its both in office & at home.. earthing is perfectly fine at both the places..
in long run, this will affect the battery & the circuit of the phone..
I have this buzz effect too. Slight shock while the phone is charging.
But OP3 and OP3T is also metal and using the same socket and same charger, there is no shock in those devices.
It seems like only OP5 is affected.
I bought op5 128 from oneplusstore.in. Now I can't find a option to return it. When I click on "service request" under my op5 order, it shows only replacement option and not the return one. Have anybody done return through oneplusstore.in ?? if so please help!
Hi Community,
I tried as hard as I could but at this point I've basically given up.
The Problem:
Phone USB-C Port was damaged while charging overnight (Bad LeEco Cable). Over months with a few shipments from aliexpress I tried to repair it, damaged the screen during the process etc etc...
I changed the USB-Board as well as the damaged battery, sadly it's still broken. If I plug it in nothing happens, no detection or anything, charging works though! I unpluged the data line on the flex cable and the behaviour is absolutely the same. This leads me to the conclusion that the power line is ok but the data flex cable or something on the motherboard is "fu**ed". I also tried an EDL Cable as well as an USB Stick. The USB Stick gets powered but not detected by TWRP which is luckily still installed.
Is there any way to safe this phone or into the trash it goes? Thanks in advance to the community, I've been an avid reader for the past couple years and the solutions always suprise me
tl;dr Charging works, data not so much, any way to get something on this phone?
BTW: I don't want to buy a Jtag Box or something else that is 1 time use and 20$+
Thanks so much in advance!
Hi
Never give up, always there are solutions just you need to find it!
And yeah, you're right the cheap quality original leeco cable made this big problem as You say.
We already talked about this problem, because my phone's port was burned as well, but I could repair it, with an original USB flex board.. So now my phone stayed alive and he is just like the original one
I think won't be good the cheap fake Usb boards from aliexpress.. etc.
You need only the factory version!
Please check these topics, I have written there the solutions!

Thank you very much! I hope there really is a difference between the boards you can get from aliexpress and the one you get from taobao. Gonna order tomorrow and then wait :highfive::good:

Your issue could be the motherboard.
Absolutely those factory cables are garbage, we had two Leeco destroyed by bad cables in my house. Fortunately, they were under Amazon's warranty and they were replaced with new phones.
Currently I also have a critical issue also, where my phone will start in fastboot, but will shut down when attempting to boot to the system or recovery.
To make matters worse, I could only find used motherboards priced on the average of $150 which is way too high when you can find a complete X720 on Aliexpress for about the same price :
As far as getting your data, can you boot to fastboot, if so you may be able to copy the data from the phone and then erase storage using adb. For example, adb pull <path-of-the-file> or : adb pull sdcard/ ( this should work)
As far as the issue about you phone, something that you flashed may have damaged the board. Last week several people had damage as the result of flashing a Rom that didn't have thermals ( it was an accident / Oversight)
Another option, if you are like me and cash is tight. Xiaomi has several quality phones for around $200 and the specs are excellent. Phones such as the A2, Note 6 Pro, or check this out ( Then google Snapdragon 636 vs 821 )
I hope something here helps you.

Hi
Sorry for the late answer, but I was very busy in this week!
.
So You can buy the original board from Taobao but only through Yoybuy. You can buy lots of factory parts for the phone or any other gadgets as well of course. Just you have to use the taobao's item link.
Here you can find what I I bought. This is 100% original board!
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=563268285618
It was only 14$+ 7$ was the yoybuy service fee. The shipping cost depends of the shipping version.
The whole shipping after my payment was about 2 weeks to hungary!
Good luck!

I found a seller, he is selling more version of boards.. Just use this link at the Yoybuy and you can choose the right version at that site.. https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.1.2f6347c1TLsAv7&id=572435958176&ns=1&abbucket=20#detail

While what this website is selling is hard to determine for an English speaker. What they are selling is board repair at a super low price. Frankly, I don't understand how they make money.
But here is an option for you. I too have an old phone with a fried board, so I will research this place further and probably will mail my board to them for repair.
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?sp...GLVYx&scm=1007.13066.127260.0&id=559560190173
By the way, you have to create a account to view pricing and there is an option to change the site to whatever language you prefer. Basically with the cost of transport included it seems that we can have our motherboards repaired for under $20.

I have no idea, as I am not there with you and I don't know what steps you took to ground yourself prior to changing out the board, if you were sent the wrong board then you should contact TaoBao for a refund. They have a return policy similar to other large online vendors.
Is it possible, that you received the wrong board, or that you shorted out the board by accident? If it didn't look identical to the board that you replaced then it obviously would not be compatible. If the board was in fact a correct working board, your issue could be something else such as the usb card, the connection to the usb port, or shorted flex cables. ( I assume that you tried alternate usb cables?
To be clear the link I provided was intended for on site repair, not the sale of a motherboard for sale. (repairing the board that you already own)
For example, If you have broken solder connections, you would pay a small deposit and ship the the phone to the advertised repair shop, for them to repair, by fully reballing the board.
There have been users that were able to get their phones back in working order for under $40
Finally if you are hearing a buzzing noise then you have a burned capacitor which should be an easy and cheap fix for a shop that has the tools and can repair at the component level.
Edit
The price of these phones have recently dramatically dropped Here you can find a new 4GB/64GB X720 for $140
You can replace the usb board yourself. Hardest part is removing the screen. You need a heat gun for that. And double sided 3m tape to reattach.
The actual board only costs $5.
Amazing that a 400 phone will be rendered useless by a $5 part.
Hey guys it's me again, I didn't know what to do and the phone was just flying around collecting dust. But I found a seller that apparently stocks original USB Boards. The ones you could get so far were missing components that are required for OTG etc.

It's 13$ but well, better than a wrecked phone. Now I can also solder quite well, sad I threw away my original board otherwise I could have transplanted the missing IC circuitry. This wasn't a problem I thought that would happen. "Missing" components on a board never happend to me and "a**hat" move to sell boards without saying that it's only good for charging...
This is the part I bought off eBay.

The only soldering necessary was that it didn't come with the speaker so had to remove it from the old bad board and solder it to the new one.
Phone has been back to functional since. I had to replace battery as well because I think the heat gun damaged it. That was about $17

Is OTG working since the compontens of the product you send are also missing on the photo.
Did you want me to attach an otg adapter to my phone to see if it could access the storage?
Or did you want me to connect my phone to a computer via usb-c cable to see if it could be accessed by the computer?
FYI, here's pictures of the old board from my x727 for reference

Here's my comparison between an old Aliexpress board I ordered and the new one with all the necessary IC components on it. Quite the difference...
How much was the new board? Not knowing really if it would work or not, I just ordered the cheaper 5$ board.

Could you please share the link where you bought the genuine board from?
