Note 3 Bootloop. Did I brick my phone? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have tried to flash CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar.md5 on Android 4.4.2 with the note 3 via Odin.
Every time I turn on my phone, it first says:
RECOVERY BOOTING...
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING...
Set Warranty bit : recovery
Then, it reboots. It does not give me time to do anything via Odin. It ignores Volume up/Down + Home Key + Power combinations and just keeps on rebooting forever. Anything I can do?

Pull battery, wait 30sec, boot normally (shd go into download mode then)
hit 'thanks' if i helped you

I've already done that several times (it is also unplugged from the USB). It still does exactly the same thing

When you put the battery back in, go straight to ODIN/Download mode don't try and turn the phone on , it'll let you do it - If it was bricked it wouldn't boot up at all

Do you have any progress?
I am having similar problem:
Upgraded 4.4.2 (OXX - Open Europe) OK
Today try to install CWM n9005-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.5(1121).tar using ODIN 3.09
PASS
But the phone is in constant Recovery Loop:
Recovery Booting (in blue color)
Set Warranty Bit: recovery (in yellow Color)
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 logo
The above repeated.
Take out battery and do Volume Up + Power + Home
It continues to repeat
I cannot do anything even with Volume Down + Power + Home
Please assist

For me on Verizon Note 3 this worked, but the button combo is different. It's the same as ODIN/Download mode:
Hold Vol down, Power, and Home... then Cancel ODIN/Download mode using Vol Down.
I had this same problem where I'd got myself in a "recovery" bootloop from Baja KK ROM... I had a custom power menu that allowed you to choose recovery as a boot option as opposed to selecting it at startup (I know, so hard). I would have the Galaxy Note 3 "Custom" screen then say Recovery mode in the upper left corner in blue, then reboot, etc... Anyway this seems to set it back to normal boot mode.

It didn't work for me and I still unable to enter into Recovery mode. I tried other key combinations but still stuck.
I am able to enter into Download mode by pressing Vol Down+Home+Power buttons and then Volume Up button or Volume Down button (Cancels - restart phone) which shows the downloading screen with the message " Could not do normal boot"
Can anyone here help please?

Unrooted S4 & can't reboot - Help please

Hi guys
Some help please.
I am returning my s4 to stock due to a dodgy home button and I have run triangle away, flashed a stock ROM
the current binary is Samsung Official &
System Status is Official.
All the counters are set to 0x0
which is great.
The problem is the phone does not boot, it stays stuck at the boot screen.
I've tried to boot into the official recovery to reformat the phone, but I can;t get into the recovery either.
Any help is appreciated!
Cheers

Hi,
The way I get into recovery is:
1.remove the battery
2.replace the battery
3.hold volume up + power button
4.as soon as you see the blue writing in the top corner , let go of everything and tap the volume down button.

- Point n° 3 procedure IS ONLY FOR I9505 (qualcomm)
in case of I9500 (sammy core) the 3 buttons combo is the only way to get recovery or downlad mode.
The Op didn't state about his S4 model.
Cheers guys

[Q] Issue with Recovery on I9505

I have a I9505 which had 4.2.2 version. Then, I have rooted it and installed Teamwin Recovery. I had this for almost 1 year; some weeks ago, I decided to upgrade it to 4.4.2 kitkat.
Then, I flashed the full stock ROM (I9505_ZTO_GHI2) got from Sammobile. After this, I realised that I don´t get to access recovery mode anymore. It´s not a volume button issue, since when I press the 3 buttons together (vol up + home + power) and keep them pressed for some seconds, I can see a small "recovery mode" or something similar in the display in blue color, but then, when I release the buttons, it boots in normal mode.
On the other hand, I get to access download mode normally (vol down + home + power).
How can I solve this??

Well you dont have to keep the buttons pressed.
When you press the Volume up+center button+Power button.
Release them when the phone starts and shows the Samsung i9505 screen.
In a fraction of a second press the volume up and center button for a longer duration and you'll see the recovery.
For the blue screen you're talking about, it is the stock recovery (samsung stock recovery)

Anytime mate!
But remember..now you have A Knox enabled bootloader. So flashing anything custom (recovery/rom) will trip it to 0x1 and it cannot be set to 0 again.
Tripping the KNOX counter is considered to be a void warranty signal in some countries.
But as I read, your phone is a year old..flash that thing and make it awesome
But still there are ways in the i9505 to flash custom roms without tripping knox.
Happy flashing

Bricked Device, now it's talking

So I was installing a lollipop rom via Odin and my T530NU has become bricked. After two days of trying every version of Odin possible and attempting to flash various firmwares, no success. I am able to get into recovery mode but cannot get into download mode. In recovery mode, you can install an update via sd card, but I cannot find a file for that, if that would even fix the problem. But fast forward to current time, if you boot the device like normal, it is stuck on the samsung logo with red text at the top left that says 'Kernel is not seandroid enforcing" and below that in yellow "Set warranty bit : kernel." If I press the volume keys, the appropriate volume sound is made, but oddly, pressing the home key and the power key prompts the tablet to talk as if I have turned on assistive touch in the accessibility menu. Please help.

You can try MOBILE ODIN (if there is a version for your tab).
it's a variety of the classic odin but 4 device, created by the most great God that Android have may seen: Mr Chainfire.
Without him, the modding on android there were a dream.
Whit mobile odin you can flash an official firmware by recovery.
But only if there is a version for your tablet, i don't know.
It there will be the last chance.

Did I just hard brick my phone?

I was on efficient rom 3.3 and wanted to update to 3.4 but I was on some older versions of bootloader and modem so I wanted to update them first before moving to efficient rom 3.4. So I downloaded the BPHJ BL and CP for 935F, opened Odin and successfully flashed the files from download mode, it said the flash was successful and the phone attempted to reboot (as it normally does after an Odin flash), and now it's stuck at the Samsung logo with a red "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" in upper left corner. I try to boot into download mode by volume up+power+home button, the phone tries to do it but it gets stuck again at the same screen. If I plug my phone to the PC now, Odin doesn't even recognize it, it doesn't say added or anything, it's like the phone is not even connected.
I know I flashed the correct files because they are for the 935F (exynos international - my phone).
How the hell did this happen? Is the phone dead? Can I try anything else?
You have to get into download mode, otherwise it's normal that ODIN doesn't see anything.
Keep trying to get into DL mode. I've read several times here that people had the same problems with getting into DL mode while being stuck in a bootloop, but eventually succeeded after a lot of tries.

New bootloader also required newest version of TWRP.
So after going into download mode flash the newest TWRP and that's it!.

Yes the vol up was a mistake, I know up is for recovery and down for download mode. I tried booting into download mode and I still can't do it. I opened this up in the efficient rom thread and yes, I ran into this problem because I wasn't aware I needed the latest twrp version.
Anyway, I try booting into download mode by vol down+power+home and it doesn't work. I try vol dow+power and as soon as the screen goes black I keep holding on the home button as well, without releasing vol down and power. Still not working. The screen goes but instead of booting into download mode it goes back to the Samsung logo with the seandroid enforcing error. This is the first time I can't boot into download mode.

Have you try holding vol down+home+power without release them until the download mode come up?
What I mean is that you don't need to wait for screen to go black. Just holding the button combo and phone will automatically reboot and go into download mode.

Yes, that's how I usually do it. It doesn't work. I'm thinking of going with the phone for a warranty repair but I'm worried that red seandroid enforcing error will raise questions about root. I booted into download mode a lot of times before, I know how to do it, it just doesn't work.

You're not hard bricked or you wouldn't have any thing showing on your screen.
First hold the power and volume down buttons only til it black screens then as soon as it does hold buttons for download Mode. It sometimes takes many times.
I've also read quite a few people let the phone die then plug it in to charge and then hold the buttons for download Mode.
That's how a friend of mine got his in download Mode.

Out of curiosity, if I go at Samsung now in this state, they will know for sure that the phone was rooted? Can I imply something like I tried updating with Samsung kies and now it's stuck?

seandroid enforcing error means the device can't load the security policy cuz u voided warranty
you could always say something like your kid was playing with it and it went into a bootloop or that there was an OTA update and it stoped midway and now your phone wont boot up hope for the best if they decline u goto another store to have it replaced/fixed some ppl arent knowledgeable about voiding warranty and issue a replacement

Thanks for the reply. The battery finally discharged completely and turned off the device. So from the powered off state I managed to boot into download mode from the first try. Flashed the latest twrp and everything is working fine. Topic can be closed
