Thank you @designgears & @Chainfire for rooting Note 3

I am unable to post on the Development thread as my post count isn't up yet but....
I have been following the Root de la Vega thread by @designgears & @Chainfire .
I would like to express my gratitude and recognize the work that was done for the rooting of the Samsung Note 3.
I have a Canadian version N900W8 on the Telus network and following the simple instruction (memorized it),
my Note 3 is now fully rooted with Knox count still 0x0.
Product Name SM-N900W8 (Telus, Canada)
Current Status: custom
Current Binary: Samsung Official
Reactivation Lock : OFF
Knox Kernel Lock : 0x0
Knox Warranty Void: 0x0

[Q] Official 4.4.2 for Rooted N9005?

Hi,
I want to update to the official 4.4.2 KitKat release for my N9005 that is rooted. Will I have any problems loading the new firmware on a rooted N9005 (or lose root), or would I have to un-root it first?
My current odin mode statuses:
Product Name : SM-N9005
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
Reactivation Lock: OFF
KNOX Kernel Lock: 0x0
KNOX Warranty Void: 0x0

no just flash kitkat and it will unroot, but be aware you cant go back to 4.3 and dont think you can root without tripping knox yet

Ok thanks. I guess I will wait until there is a way to root without tripping KNOX for 4.4. There has been no problems with 4.3 for me yet.

If you want to keep knox 0x0 and root I think you need to read starting here:

Either way IMHO you must also check if your current CSC is also present in the multi-CSC from the XEO N9005XXUENA6 - there are some very strange reports somewhere from 2 out of 3 users with CSC in the Nordic EU, and I think 100% failure with CSC coming from Hong-Kong.

Preparing phone to go to Samsung Repair Center (Tripped Knox)

I manually installed the latest Samsung ROM (4.4.2).
I have also rooted the device.
Therefore, I believe I may have tripped Knox.
My phone needs a repair by a Samsung Repair Center.
What can I do to wipe as much of the evidence as possible?

You can start downloadmode and see if your knox flag is 0x1. If so, there's no way to set it back to 0x0. But in many countries, you can use your warranty also with knox 0x1.

Current Binary: Custom (it's not custom, it's Samsung's latest ROM but I flashed it using Odin)
System Status: Official
Knox Kernal Lock: 0x0
Knox Warranty Void: 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30

So there's no chance to get back to knox 0x0. But as I see you're from the UK, samsung has to repair your phone under warranty I think.

Bought a "new" galaxy s5 . Already rooted Knox 0x1 (4). Is it used?

It is a japanese au version.
already rooted, and Knox 0x1 (4) .
Does that mean it was flashed 4 times? Did i get a used phone?
Thank you
it means that the Knox tamper flags has been set. Probably was modded before..!
