[Q] Official 4.4.2 for Rooted N9005? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I want to update to the official 4.4.2 KitKat release for my N9005 that is rooted. Will I have any problems loading the new firmware on a rooted N9005 (or lose root), or would I have to un-root it first?
My current odin mode statuses:
Product Name : SM-N9005
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
Reactivation Lock: OFF
KNOX Kernel Lock: 0x0
KNOX Warranty Void: 0x0

no just flash kitkat and it will unroot, but be aware you cant go back to 4.3 and dont think you can root without tripping knox yet

Ok thanks. I guess I will wait until there is a way to root without tripping KNOX for 4.4. There has been no problems with 4.3 for me yet.

If you want to keep knox 0x0 and root I think you need to read starting here:

Either way IMHO you must also check if your current CSC is also present in the multi-CSC from the XEO N9005XXUENA6 - there are some very strange reports somewhere from 2 out of 3 users with CSC in the Nordic EU, and I think 100% failure with CSC coming from Hong-Kong.

I am confused that KNOX FLAG is available in my phone or not..?
KNOX WARRANTY flag is not available in my note 3.
Complete menu is like this

ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-900
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warranty bit = KNOX WARRANTY ????
Knox application is availabe in my rom.

Naming changes from the n900 and n9005.

Preparing phone to go to Samsung Repair Center (Tripped Knox)

I manually installed the latest Samsung ROM (4.4.2).
I have also rooted the device.
Therefore, I believe I may have tripped Knox.
My phone needs a repair by a Samsung Repair Center.
What can I do to wipe as much of the evidence as possible?

You can start downloadmode and see if your knox flag is 0x1. If so, there's no way to set it back to 0x0. But in many countries, you can use your warranty also with knox 0x1.

So there's no chance to get back to knox 0x0. But as I see you're from the UK, samsung has to repair your phone under warranty I think.

SMG900W8 - TowelRooted 4.4.2 - Knox 0x0 - How to upgrade and keep 0x0 and root ?

Trying to figure this out: keep reading different threads like http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-triggering-knox-2nd-method-t2843044 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/canadian-900w8-roms-released-t2809889 but found none that describe my exact situation and don't want to screw things up.
Current status:
SM-G900W8 (Bell Mobility)
4.4.2 (stock - rooted with Towelroot)
G900W8VLU1ANF3
3.4.0-1947824
Current Binary: Samsung official
Sys Status: Official
React lock: On
Knox: 0x0
My goal is to upgrade to a stock (rooted - rootable) firmware as recent as possible, while maintaining my knox at 0x0.
Could anyone give me a hand please.
No one ? Is my post so noobish ?

[GT-I9505] CUSTOM ROM that WILL NOT TRIGGER KNOX WARRANTY BIT 0x0 to 0x1

Do you have any working Custom ROMs that will not trigger Knox Warranty Bit 0x0 to 0x1?
Or rather any working suggestions to avoid bootloader to be locked when flashing non-knox enabled firmware?
Please Confirm if the following were TRUE or NOT.
SITUATION 1:
Official Lollipop 5.0.1 to Official Kitkat 4.4.2
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 2:
Official Kitkat 4.4.2 to Official Lollipop 5.0.1
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 3:
Official Kikat 4.4.2 to Official Jellybean 4.3
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 4:
Official Jellybean 4.3 to Official Kitkat 4.4.2
KNOX will retain 0x0
SITUATION 5:
Official Jellybean 4.3 to Official Kitkat4.4.2
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 6:
Official JB 4.2 to Official JB 4.3/KK 4.4/LP 5.0.1
KNOX will retain at 0x0
SITUATION 7:
Official JB 4.3/KK 4.4/LP 5.0.1 to Official JB 4.2
KNOX will issue at 0x1
Downgrading to JB 4.2 will restrict user to upgrade to higher Android Version.
But User can flash Custom ROM all they want?
The bootloader isn't locked by flashing any kind of firmware.
Your device either comes with a locked bootloader or an unlocked bootloader. Verizon and AT&T phones usually have a locked bootloader.
You can find some info here.
But it's seems a lot of hassle and isn't really worth it unless you are using KNOX or count on the warranty.
