I am unable to post on the Development thread as my post count isn't up yet but....
I have been following the Root de la Vega thread by @designgears & @Chainfire .
I would like to express my gratitude and recognize the work that was done for the rooting of the Samsung Note 3.
I have a Canadian version N900W8 on the Telus network and following the simple instruction (memorized it),
my Note 3 is now fully rooted with Knox count still 0x0.
Product Name SM-N900W8 (Telus, Canada)
Current Status: custom
Current Binary: Samsung Official
Reactivation Lock : OFF
Knox Kernel Lock : 0x0
Knox Warranty Void: 0x0

Probably only until the next firmware update... Hopefully the stress of trying to block all the security holes found in here will be too much and samsung will give up screwing its customers over....

Root de la VEGA Odin 3.09 File Hacked???
I think the "Root de vega.zip"file or the download link has been "hacked." Went to the site download link via the Jared Busch Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone rooting You Tude Video; It did not unpack as expected, and in-fact, installed a nasty self defending Trojan-horse virus on two of my computers, since I was dumb enough to try to download it twice. I am still trying to remove the viruses, which is a problem I must deal with Kaspersky and myself. When I get my computers fixed, I would really like to root my phone!!!! Could any of you investigate and let us know when you get this problem fixed.:crying:
Malwarebytes for virus removal
hit 'thanks' if i helped you

Knox still 0x0 but Current Status = custom, so this has no meaning

I am confused that KNOX FLAG is available in my phone or not..?
KNOX WARRANTY flag is not available in my note 3.
Complete menu is like this
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-900
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
WARRANTY BIT: 0
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warranty bit = KNOX WARRANTY ????
Knox application is availabe in my rom.
Yes - knox is there.
Naming changes from the n900 and n9005.
Hi,
I want to update to the official 4.4.2 KitKat release for my N9005 that is rooted. Will I have any problems loading the new firmware on a rooted N9005 (or lose root), or would I have to un-root it first?
My current odin mode statuses:
Product Name : SM-N9005
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
Reactivation Lock: OFF
KNOX Kernel Lock: 0x0
KNOX Warranty Void: 0x0

Ok thanks. I guess I will wait until there is a way to root without tripping KNOX for 4.4. There has been no problems with 4.3 for me yet.

If you want to keep knox 0x0 and root I think you need to read starting here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49452031#post49452031
Either way IMHO you must also check if your current CSC is also present in the multi-CSC from the XEO N9005XXUENA6 - there are some very strange reports somewhere from 2 out of 3 users with CSC in the Nordic EU, and I think 100% failure with CSC coming from Hong-Kong.
Trying to figure this out: keep reading different threads like http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-root-triggering-knox-2nd-method-t2843044 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/canadian-900w8-roms-released-t2809889 but found none that describe my exact situation and don't want to screw things up.
Current status:
SM-G900W8 (Bell Mobility)
4.4.2 (stock - rooted with Towelroot)
G900W8VLU1ANF3
3.4.0-1947824
Current Binary: Samsung official
Sys Status: Official
React lock: On
Knox: 0x0
My goal is to upgrade to a stock (rooted - rootable) firmware as recent as possible, while maintaining my knox at 0x0.
Could anyone give me a hand please.
No one ? Is my post so noobish ?
