Can't exit setup screen no connection - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Heres my problem:
I could not use google play or gmail(I could however use chrome youtube baconreader(reddit) ) So I tried many of the troubleshooting ways to fix it. It all started when I updated to 4.4 then I re-rooted and it was all going smooth. I had freedom and market unlocker going so I could still use the market with freedom. One day I turned on my device and my root was gone and my root apps did not work and google play did not work. So I tried like I said above to troubleshoot it. I ended up to a factory reset thinking it would fix it. Now I am at the setup screen where it goes like this Language>Wifi Network>Login in or create google acount( I log in) and then bam I get the error like I have been having for the past month with google play and this time I cannot even use my device so I call google and they tell me I'm f****d because my warranty is gone. After that they connect me to someone at samsung who I can barely hear who keeps calling me man and telling me they can't hear me so in frustration I hung up and hear I am now.
Solution Idea: If I could find away to restore it without usb debugging using the wugfresh tool it might work I guess. Another thing worth noting is that when I go into bootloader mode and then recovery I get the android guy with: no command. written under him.
Please help I have searched and troubleshooted but I can't find a fix and I have no funds to buy a new device and I need it for school since I have no laptop and this is the next best thing.

You can use fast boot commands to restore. Do you have the factory image downloaded? Extract it and use fastboot to flash then

Yeah but if using wugs toolkit you may have downloaded it already. Check under the data folder and then system images in the toolkits location. Or you could just downloadh it from that site

If you feel I helped please press the thanks button! And enjoy your nexus. Glad you got it working. If you ever run into issues if you decide to flash custom ROMs or something this is always a last resort to get it working. Also if you ever decide to do that and want to get back to stock again mashed sure you don't flash user data image next time because it'll erase all your data on the tablet even pictures and stuff.

Unrooting after reset...

Hi guys. I rooted my Kindle Fire on FW 6.2.1 the other day and I want to unroot it. I figured performing a "reset to factory defaults" would be fine, but I'm still unable to view amazon prime instant videos.
Can someone please help me? I honestly didn't go reading through all the troubleshooting threads because I have already performed the reset. If I can unroot following those guides, let me know.
Thanks.
If you goal is to play Amazon Prime Video.. you don't need to unroot.
You just need to make it so that the Amazon player doesn't see root.
You can do that by:
o Installing OTA Root Keeper
o Telling it to "temp unroot"
o Force closing the Amazon Video Player (Setup -> Applications -> find amazon player -> Force close)
o then restarting the player and watch whatever videos you want..
When you want root again for anything that needs root... just go to OTA root keeper and tell it to Re-Root... and play your heart away...
You don't need to completely unroot to do this... so you can have the best of both worlds.
Yawn

Also. http://www.giyf.com/
I don't know if you guys are illiterate or something, but I said that I reset the Kindle to Original Factory Defaults. I can't just download something from the Android Marketplace because it's not there...
Do I have to re-root it, then do this temporary unroot?
And to the one who thinks I don't know what Google is: Go back to school and read a book. After you learn that, read my op.

If you would read the link at the top of the results it explains what you want.
You just want someone to hold your hand instead of actually reading.

99.9 % Of problems dealing with rooting and your problem can be found using google and about 5-10 minutes of reading.
I don't want a temporary unroot, I want a permanent, complete unroot and have the system reset to factory settings.
Once again, the device has been "Reset to Factory Defaults" under the Settings on the device.
I lost my Android Marketplace app as well with everything else. It seems like it's been reset but I still can't watch Prime videos.
Anyone?

Please never modify another Android device or if you do go on Craigslist and hire someone to do it for you.
If you understood that Resetting to factory defaults removes the "su" and "superuser.apk" files from the device, you'd realize how much of an ass you've made yourself.
Seriously, take the time to read posts. Being able to comprehend them would help too. This is something Google won't help you with.

Yes, that is all it does but factory reset does not completely remove root that is why you can not watch Amazon video you need to Un root.
This is not rocket science I have been doing this a long time the point I am trying to make to you is "Search" and you can solve these minor problems on your own.
lol.

Come on man type out a complete list of the steps for him to un root his kindle that way he won't have to read the guides that are already out there.
I refuse sir
I like how he tries to call everyone posting idiots and their making asses of themselves, when he didn't even know that a factory reset just deletes all user data and does nothing to root, and then when people gave him links, he just got mad because he ****ed up in the first place. Google is your friend, if your unsure of an option just Google it dammit!
Reason we say you don't know what Google is, is because your asking a question thats been asked many times, but you'd rather make a new thread about it, and have people repeat themselves, it gets annoying. Books are for old people, we all have kindles why the hell would we go get a book!? Go learn to internet n00b.
The funny thing is when you post a new thread it pops up with similar threads and asks you to check them before posting to solve your issue.
But everyone thinks their problem is different.

i have just registered to this forum to thank u for ur politeness and to say to that ignorant kid to respect those who are obviously far superior,
To answer your question, yes, you will need to reroot to give it the temporary root. If you used the kindle fire utility it shouldn't be that big of a deal.
God damn, I thought the G2x forum was full of a bunch of pricks, but clearly this one takes it. The point of this forum is to share insights and offer advice to fellow users with common interests... simply put, no need to be a ****ing prick, the smarter thing to do is search the xda forum not refer him to Google

When you do a Google search for almost anything related to Android modification and rooting XDA results are usually the first results.
Good to see a month later this forum is still full of threads about people bricking and rooting their fires.

Netflix on latest CM-10

I was able to install the app but it does not run. It opens the big red screen and then the loading wheels keep rotating, never gets past that.
All other apps I installed seem to work okay. I am using nightly 1126 encore build.
Thank you.
See my recent "Netflicks with JZ054K" thread for your answer to this.
Easy fix and detailed instructions.

Binary: official
Device: i337
That being said I don't want to mess it up worse using triangle away since the app says everything is ok

Task helped me out and I try not to post useless questions but I did search through the xda app and google using the term "s4 custom unlocked after root" and some other variations and all I got from both is about the bootloader nothing close to the question I had. I appreciate you trying to keep the forums manageable just putting it out there ive been around the forums a while and know how frustrating it can get. . I also looked at tge post task pointed me to before I posted my question but nobody had answered it yet

That screen means nothing, in fact if everyone has not figured it out yet, IT IS A SAMSUNG BULLSH$$ splash screen. When you flash your first rom, that will be replaced by another splash screen. And everyone has asked the same question, if it were me, I would have went back to the thread were I got the instructions to do whatever, and the fix has been mentioned there, for all new people, if you are in a thread, and try something in that thread, GO BACK THERE, chances are your solution is there. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! I am so bored I can not hold back answering some of these....
I think it might be time to start stickying some of the more popular threads so they are more visible. Threads with How tos, tutorials, Root methods, etc...Of course, this won't solve the problem of people not looking or searching before they ask the same old questions(which is 99% of the time), but it might help in cases like this when the OP attempted a search using the XDA app (which may or may not be very accurate at searches) and still didn't find what they were looking for. However, it is just a suggestion.

Look in ALL the S4 threads and you see a solution. just because you have an att, doesn't mean you can't snoop around and absorb some the knowledge...there are alot of good users here...some have been here for years...so my advice would be read what they are talking about.. if you noobs are serious about modding and such..reading would be your best friend.

I know nobody was pissed and I wasnt trying to come off as sarcastic or angry.. ive been rooting and such since my first moto droid on Verizon.. I repair phones on the side .. I knew what the custom icon meant.. what I should have conveyed better was since the triangle away app said everything was ok with phone if I were to use it would I end up with a brick... it just happened to work out that tasks answer to the other members question about what the icon meant or why he would have gotten that icon in the first place and answered mine as well.. well an alternative to what I was going to use triangle away for... I only responded to scott to put out there that I did search via google and the xda app and couldnt find anything exceot info about the locked bootloader and similar posts regarding the s3 and the custom icon.. ive been here a number of years and with a whole array of devices and I know it can be frustrating answering the same question over and over or digging through the same question over and over to find the right answer...
I didnt take as he was pissed... I didnt intend to come back as sounding pissed and I apologize if thats the way it was taken

And thank you for your help!
With that crappy-a$$ attitude is probably why a lot of people aren't wasting their time jumping in, plus it really does sound like an Facebook messenger issue than a Android issue, thus making this the wrong place in the first place. So here's my advice, might want to check the attitude at the door ? the next time, seeing that people are taking the time to even respond, which is probably more time than you deserves given the tude you're projecting. Just my opinion of course.

Seeing how info is all over the place and search is not a friendly thing today. Im new but not dumb. I found out that 5.0.1 is NOT where to be to effectively achieve DE mode & root. Also is this pretty stable from beginning to end with exceptions to KR? I guess really I have questions before jumping into this regardless of ALL the research and data I sift through. So can somebody kindly give me some time to ask these questions its easy to say go search or Google that lol. But we all don't have identical note 4 set ups. I will have to FR and take a chance on something truly not 100%. don't want to be that guy with a brick cause he followed instructions. I know its all at my own risk but its easy to talk about blowing cash on devices when neither is not yours. Js. Any help pls? Last time I had “questions“ on the site I got no help or replies. I have retail note 4, 5.0.1, Gates Jr debloated, I just have questions. The rest is a walk.
I think this should have been posted in the Q&A section of this forum, but you could ask me questions if you'd like. I can't promise I can answer all of them, but I have already successfully converted my phone and run through quite a few issues during the process that I could help with.
