The other day my rooted nook decided to recieve an update from barnes and noble and resotred it back to the factory image, so now I have to reroot it so what is everyone using when they are flashing a rom that is getting good results?
I have been rerooting my nook and installed cm10.1.3.2-encore.zip with gapps 20130812 and it goes into the boot screen and just sits there, I also have cm7.2.0-encore.zip and gapps 20110829 and get the same issue. Really I have all the gapps and cm roms just having problems getting them to run and just wondering what is working best for everyone.

Hey yall I'm having a problem with my Aria. I formatted my micro sd and wiped the phone to start with a clean slate. I downloaded CM7 RC2 from the CM website and i also downloaded gapps from there as well. but when i installed RC2 and gapps it would start up normally then when i would try to use the setup wizard it would freeze once i touched the android guy and would go into a boot loop. i recorded a video to help explain what im talking about. could it possibly be a corrupted version of gapps? cause i tried installing just rc2 and it worked fine....

Was it plugged in while in recovery?
yes and no. i didnt have it plugged in the first time around but the second time i did. and i did a factory reset, cleared the cache and the dalvik cache
Try re downloading the rom and gapps file. Make sure phone is unplugged and wipe data and caches again and then flash again. Ghats what I would do.

Sounds like you might be using the wrong gapps. Double check you got the right one.

You're almost certainly using the wrong Gapps.

after rooting the phone. i have installed CyanogenMod "update-cm-7.0.3-buzz-signed.zip" and google apps. after rebooting i can only see the cyanogemod animated logo. i have restarted the phone but still the same,
pl guide me how can i resolve the issue.
You got yourself into a bootloop.
To get out of it repeat the procedure you used to flash cm7.0.3 . Just this time realy wipe everything. And i mean wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache. And try to flash something else. Like a nightly (nightly 119 is the most stable for me). And first boot the system without flashing anything on top (like a nightly then boot into the rom and just after that flash gapps).

I and running stock ROM on Rooted G2 currently Froyo 2.2. I have tried twice now to flash the CM7 Rom, first time using the video instructions on G2 Hacks.com and that resulted in hanging at the CM7 splash screen with the arrow spinning for almost an hour. I rebooted into recovery and restored my latest backup. All was good, so i tried Flashing again using Rom Manager after downloading the latest CM7 Nightly from the app. Created another backup and started the flash process again. Same results as last time. I have read a few threads about "Wiping" the phone before flashing but concerned i will lose my root access or am i wrong? Could someone shed some light please.

You should ALWAYS wipe dalvik cache when upgrading a rom. When doing a major change (like installing CM7), it is usually required (or at least recommended) to also wipe data and the cache partition. When doing this (wiping data / cache):
1. You will not lose root. You will have root when booting into CM7
2. You WILL lose your data stored on the phone (not the sdcard). So backup the stuff you need using something like Titanium first...
You may need to wipe your efs partitions if you have gps issues in cm7. There is an app in the dev section for this...
But in the end, it is worth it. CM rocks!

I just flashed a NC with cm7 and flashed Phiremod 7.2 on it, but when booted up it wants to force close android.process.media. And the status bar is missing too. When I try to open Play Store it again wants to force close android.process.media
Any help?
Oh, I nandroid backedup, cleared both caches, flashed rom then flashed gapps

Just remembered that I should have done a factory reset first... is that critical?

use TWO sd cards
Ok... dummy me. I had the cwm image on my 8gb sd.. correctly. BUT also had the ROM zip and GAPPS zip on the very same card! somehow the clockworkmod would get stuck. I started over with the cwm image on one card, and the zips on another one... worked fine then.
Hello,
I know this has been asked dosens of times, but Im all out of guesses, after many searching.
I was running Pacman, and I wanted tt install a new kernel. I installed the JSS faux kernel. however, the colours went very weird, so I installed the cm10 colour fix.
Well, that didn't work out. It now stays stuck on the google logo, when booting up the phone. I tried going to factory reset in recovery, installing a fresh install of pacman, but I am still stuck on google screen....
does anyone knows what I gotta do? I'm stressing out..
thanks

have you tried wiping data then reflashing pacman?
Seems like an issue with the kernel. Flash stock kernel. If you are unable to do it. Download the toollkit and flash stock image. Be warn you will lose all ur data in the phone. Yes all of it.
