HEY! I'm on the d801 as well and I've been where you're at a number of times, unfortunately. But I've always gotten out. Here's the conclusion I've reached. Trying to flash directly back to stock without wiping all the partitions first is what makes the RDTool get stuck. It's like the phone runs out of memory and can't host a full Gig+ of data since your last ROM is in the way. Sorry if I'm wrong but I'm only assuming you didn't wipe everything except the Internal storage. The good thing every time this has happened to me is that your recovery partition should be intact. Mine always is, and we're on the same variant. Another thing, booting back into recovery is not impossible. It's all in the timing it takes from the first time you see the LG logo while holding volume - and the power button, but don't let go. What worked for me was to let the phone cycle between off and boot power states twice until the phone is completely off again. You may even notice the LED indicator flash red. Release your keys if the phone stays off and immediately hold the combo down again until the phone tries to boot again just don't let go of the buttons. Once it powers down again, leave the phone alone for a few minutes. Come back and this time get ready to boot into recovery. The combo button press will initiate boot but don't let go until the next time you see the LG logo flash, then quickly release and depress the vol down power up combo and hold. May take a minute longer than usual but the reset menu should pop up thereafter. Tap power 2 more times and you should back into recovery. It's worked every time for me. Let me know if you're good and whether this helped!

OK. So tell me, what ROM were you on, which recovery version and name are you using, why were you flashing back to stock, i.e. were you having problems, what kind. Explain as much as you can in detail. Need to retrace your exact steps to best get you fixed up!

K, now if you're only seeing the blue dots when you attach by USB your phone to PC, then you're not fully in DL mode to process the kdz. You should see a white wheel in the center of the screen when you connect and a viewing mirror near the base of your phone with ROOTED in red directly below that. And you're sure your PC is detecting your phone? You've the drivers installed? Because when RDT tells you to run the tool, you'll see some binary code in the viewing window I spoke of, the white wheel will turn and below it will be shown the COM port to which you're connected and a solid thin red bar will begin to fill a space in the viewer showing you the progress.
Also, be sure when attempting the first steps I gave you to boot into recovery that you are not USB connected. It won't work.
And, try to remember if your phone was well enough charged, should have been at least 80% full. It happened to me once that I couldn't boot recovery and my phone would go to fastboot like yours until I left it alone to charge and then I repeated the stepsvi laid out to get back into recovery. This part is paramount!
Please READ CAREFULLY
I used to be in your same situation. I thought I had bricked my phone for good. I finally figured it out. Here is my solution from my Thread.
Esteef said:
Okay, after 12+ hours of trying every method possible on XDA I finally resolved my issue. I will update the first post just incase any others care or fall into the same dilemma I was in.
The LG Mobile Support tool would not download the firmware and it would NOT ask me for my IMEI to download it either.
So my solution....
***
Installed LG Mobile Support Tool then Installed the LG Drivers. (FROM HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370
BEFORE I connected the phone to the computer. I opened the LG Mobile support tool clicked (Options on the top right).
When the dropped down opened, I clicked the (Upgrade Recovery) option. THEN, is when the prompt opened to ask me what my IMEI is.
Before I entered my IMEI, I connected my phone to the computer in download mode, then proceeded to enter my IMEI and hit OK.
This is when the LG Mobile Support tool SUCCESSFULLY downloaded the latest official LG firmware and installed it.
*** BE AWARE, with the phone connected to the PC, the prompt NEVER appeared to enter my IMEI.
*** But with the phone disconnected, the prompt came up every time. This might be the trick for some people.
*** with the IMEI prompt opened, I then connected the phone , entered the IMEI, then hit OK. BOOM HERPES....
Well I'll polish this up more later. I hope this works for every LG G2 Variant and not just the T-Mobile one (D801)

Not sure what mode I entered, Held vlm down + power. Says Fastboot Mode in red with a big green Start at the top. Options it gives me is Start, restart bootloader, recovery mode, and power off. If I try to enter Recovery mode it says no command. Don't see anything that allows me to reinstall

Ok, found out on the no command screen I can hold power and hit vlm up and it brings me to system recovery with these options. Reboot system, apply update from ADB, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition.
Not sure what to do sadly
Try following step:
1. Press Vol up and down and powerbutton same time to get to the fastboot mode as you mention.
2. Choice Recovery Mode and press power button. If you got luck you will see an android guy with red mark on the screen.
3. Press Vol Up and Power button same time for while don't let go it will pop up a list of option clean the cache and do factory reset, then reboot system.
If this method not working. Then hard method is flash your Nexus 4 with fastboot. Search the forum there few people already post how to flash 4.3 ROM with fastboot

Well, first try, couldn't get my PC to recognize fastboot in adb. Was getting frustrated beyond hell and had to walk away for a bit. Came back about an hour later and for some reason it finally recognized it... Back to the start screen like when I first bought the phone. So far working ok, except for being able to log into my google account... 2-step verification giving me issues now lol. Thank you again for your assistance. Very much appreciated!!:good::good:

I had a similar experience (kind of). I had issues side-loading 4.2.2 -> 4.3 on my N4. After it finished update and rebooted I got a black screen and nothing more. I ran through it and tried to update to 4.3 again, and then it worked.
Even though it worked I've been noticing issues with it. For example, I now can no longer uninstall anything. When I attempt to uninstall any app, the phone reboots. I'm backing up now with Titanium and am about to flash. I was hoping there would be a quick fix here, but such is life. Viva la impatience.
I have same problem my stock 4.2.2 stuck x boot load , did vol up+dwn +power now stuck in "Download Mode" do not unplug the device until the process is complete .

This is what I eventually followed to get mine working. I just did scenario 2 and that worked perfectly for me, so far no issues, just having to get things back to where I had them before. The second link is actually more detailed. Just make sure you follow step by step. I guess i could have not done step D10 but wanted to make sure this route worked for me. I have the exact same problem but not sure how to get my PC to recognize fastboot in adb mode...
FYI if you flash to stock android 4.3 and you have the 16 GB Nexus 4, make sure that after you re-flash you have the full 16 GB and not 8 GB (unless you want to re-setup your phone twice like me). If you get this problem you can wipe cache and data from recovery and voila, all of your free space is back.

If this is what I think it is, I was having the same problem. If I went into Control Panel on my PC and it would say that the driver is failing to load. To fix this I uninstalled the driver, rebooted, reinstalled Google USB Driver from the Android SDK Manager, restarted, and all was well after that.
I really have no explanation for why this fixed it, or it didn't work before, because other than fastboot, everything was working flawlessly with getting my phone to communicate with my PC.
First off, I searched for someone with a similar problem and couldn't find anyone in the same situation.... Also, I'm very familiar with the root/flashy/etc. process coming from a GNex
So I rooted the G2, no problem at all (before OTA). Trouble came when I tried to flash recovery. I couldn't get it to do so, but I was following a guide that stated I needed to perform the OTA before flashing TWRP.
So I finally accepted the OTA and when I did, see first pic, it clearly asked if I wanted to perform a factory reset, I accepted. Then I get dumped into Fastboot, see second pic, and I cannot get out of Fastboot at all. In addition to that, when I plug it up via USB, it won't recognize the phone at all either.
Verizon of course said I was good to take the phone back and have it replaced, but thanks to the "tell tell" message on the Factory Reset option, check first pic - top left corner, they can clearly see it's rooted and will likely not replace it, and I'm out a ton of money.....
Are there any ideas out there as to how I can recover anything????
Thanks in advance!
You not the only one! I think the recovery partition may have got corrupted from a bad CWM flash file. I get the same black screen, fast boot bull****... phone still works at least lol.
You can always flash back to stock with the lg mobile suite, got me out of a bootloop. It should fix recovery partition I would hope

Where do I go to get that?
Or is there anyway I can actually make the phone connect to my computer via USB so that I can hopefully use the Verizon Upgrade Assistant?
I used the LG mobile support tool found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
follow the steps, after the top right of that program will have drop down with "recovery update" or something to do a full restore.
I hope you can get into download mode for this, power +volume up
Good Luck!

Thanks for the thought, however that thread is assuming you have ADB access which I cannot get my computer to recognize my phone while it's in fastboot through ADB....
Downer I have a day old phone and I may have to go ahead and make an insurance claim against because I'm not paying $549 for a new one...
Or is there a way I can completely bork this so it doesn't even get to the Factory Reset option, or at least so it won't show Rooted, so I can just take it back to VZW haha???
Hold the volume up and while holding, plug in USB. Should put it in download mode. If adb then can recognize, reinstall the recovery. If not, hold the power and volume down until it starts to reboot, when you see the LG logo, let go and immediately repress them and hold until it asks you to push the power button to reset phone. When you do reset, it will actually take you to the twrp recovery.
VZW LG G2
So if u can get into download mode use the lg moble softwear to restore it.adb is not required for that
I have a Verizon LG G2 I tried to flash my backed up stock recovery with Flashify so I could flash the most recent OTA. After accepting the OTA update my phone restarted, tried to install the update, hung at a black screen but was still turned on. If I power it off and back on it shows the LG logo, some white text, then goes to the same black screen. What appears to be happening is that my backup recovery did not restore properly and it's hanging when it tries to go into recovery. It's almost like my recovery partition is blank.
I've tried to follow the instructions to flash back to stock, but I do not believe I'm actually able to get my phone into download mode. When it is plugged into my windows 7 computer with the LG drivers installed it shows up in device manager as QHSUSB_BULK.
Is there any way for me to push a stock recovery, or even a custom recovery to my phone so I can somehow salvage it, or am I permanently bricked?

Ive looked through a lot too. and its crazy how that would happen i made sure it was rebooting correctly before i took the ota and then when i did the ota bam! only screens i can get to come up are the hardware key control mode and the factory hard reset which both go to white screens after I do them both. every one else probably has not taken the ota.

One difference in what mine is doing and what your phone is doing. I go to a solid black screen not a white screen. It's very hard to tell my phone is even turned on. I'm having to look if the back-light to verify if it's on or not. I can hold my power button for 10 seconds through one LG logo cycle and then it turns off.

I actually got fastboot working first, then used this post to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595 to get download mode working, and to flash twrp recovery. After that i used this post to run the command line from with twrp. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696 . I didn't have to flash the factory tot to my phone, but i have that option now because download mode is working. This process will work, there is hope for you getting your phone back. I'm fully recovered. I decided 12B is not worth it in the mean time, but if you want 12B you need to flash the factory tot and then upgrade. There is a way to root 12B, but as of this time you are unable to get Custom Recovery on it.
I will try to keep this short but... it wont be. Please don't press that back button!
I had 4.4 on my VZ980 rooted device with a custom ROM but I felt like cleaning it up and starting over (phone was acting up a bit, nothing major) so I went ahead and unrooted it successfully back to factory stock. While unrooted I downloaded the new 12b update... just to check it out. After that lost my attention span within 2 seconds, I decided to flash back to 10b and root again. Everything went perfectly.
After rooting I immediately went and put TWRP on my phone (still stock rooted).. but it would not let me flash 2.6.3.4 only 2.6.3.2... which shouldn't have been a big deal but I.. brilliantly decided NO! I WANT 2.6.3.4... yadda yadda tried a couple different ways, then I read about flashify. Attempted to flashify the file and it still did not work. Within a couple of minutes my phone turned off.... no big deal I thought... WRONG!
My phone is stuck on the LG splash screen. It will not boot into recovery mode... it gets stuck on the factory hard reset saying "factory reset processing" no Teamwin logo ever comes up.. no matter how long I let it sit there
Next move was download mode obviously. But alas, that to bit the big one.. and before you ask I tried every possible button combination.. I was making up my own combinations in desperation. The only things I can bring up are factory hard reset and the hardware key control mode.
Heres the big problem. My phone is not recognized (tried on the factory reset screen and hardward key mode too)... not drivers, not ADB, not even the QHUSB_DLOAD that has been populating the scene lately. I tried downloading everything. Different flash tools, different drivers, different USB cords, different computers, I even tried to use a different OS to see if i could get a reaction.. Nothin! Tried LGNPST, QPST, you name it... I tried it! I even took apart the phone, took out the battery and put it back together (I did this with a previous phone stuck on splash screen and it actually made it work again) still sitting on that ugly splash screen.
Is there any thing I am missing.. that I could possibly try? If not... if it is truly bricked then I need help on how to make it so my provider will not see that it says "Rooted" in the top left corner when they try to put it in factory reset mode.
ANY QUESTIONS/SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME! Thank you so much for reading my novela! :good:

I sure do! The phone is recognizing that its plugged into something but it doesn't seem to send any signal out. I have tried to get into DL mode hundreds of times over the past 2 days. The phone is responding to the USB but not sending anything to the computers is what it seems like.

Yep, I tried several different types.. latest update, the LG VZW united WHQL_2.11.1 (not sure of exact phrasing), Qualcomm, ADB wont recognize it either. I tried this on 2 different computers, both computers can easily recognize other phones/tablets/etc.

The phone will not go into download mode. when I do the Vol+ key and usb the splash screen just remains there. But no, it is not showing up any where in the device manager I went through everything.

yep, phone was off, when pressing the vol+ and inserting usb the LG splash screen would appear but the download mode did not follow afterwards. It just stays on the LG screen until I turn it off again.

I'm sure I've learned quite a bit from you then! (been lurking over every "brick" post trying to figure this out) Ok, so I tried that.. first unplugged and when that didn't work I tried it plugged in... Still will not leave the LG screen though.

Yeah it's been driving me crazy, i tried to be as thorough as I could trying every option, but everything I thought of hasn't worked. It's going on 2 days of trial and error (but believe me I am no expert on this stuff yet, def still learning... the hard way) I do have warranty, but it says rooted in the factory hard reset (when attempting to get to TWRP but it freezes or wont load) so thats another problem!

I actually already tried that, I made sure I downloaded the correct files for my model as well. My problem is "5- LG detected as qhsusb_bulk in device manager" I have no sign of computers recognizing my phone, even on linux (which I think may be the reason I cant get into DL mode... possibly)

I told you I was thorough! I mean.. I took it apart haha! But I feel like there has got to be SOMETHING considering my phone is recognizing when I plug in the USB but no computer or operating system will recognize it no matter what drivers (or random methods... I got creative.. none of it worked... but creative at least)

well good creative is what this looks like its going to take
Ok so before I started writing this I had only one problem now I'm worried my problem has gone from bad to worse.
I updated my 6T to 10.3.2 from the latest Beta after the process it prompted for a restart, upon restarting it got stuck in the boot animation. I tried going into Recovery and Download mode unsuccessfully so I went through the forums a bit and saw that someone who had the same problem successfully entered Recovery mode by pressing VOLUME UP+DOWN+POWER buttons simultaneously, I tried to do the same and my phone turned off and now it doesn't turn on! :crying:
Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix this? Any help will be much appreciated. Tia!

These should be clarified:
Volume Up + Power while turning on will boot to fastboot.
Volume Down + Power while turn on will boot to recovery.
Holding Volume Up + Power should force the phone to turn off.
Volume Up + Volume Down should put your phone in Download mode for the MSM Tool.
Turn the phone off, let it sit. Then try turn it back on. Any response?
try to shutdown phone ...hold vol+ and power button for like 15 sec and restart your phone if this didnt work then u can try MSM tool
Thanks guys, got it working using MSM Tool!

You are likely going to lose your data. Know that going in if its not already backed up.
If you have the fastboot menu you can use the fastboot roms.
Or my least favorite option or what I would try last, MSM Tool (Tmobile 6Ts use a different tool).
IMPORTANT if you want to try and recover and data off your phone first, go to fastboot, and try and "boot" the TWRP img (not the installed one, one from your PC using the fastboot command). If that works you might be able to recover data. If that does worm, try dirty flashing the last ROM you were running and see if it boots.
No worries!

Hello, I am sorry to hear of you having this issue, I just went through 3 1/2 days (off and on) of recovering my T-Mobile OnePlus 6t which I found a way to get my unlock code within 2 weeks of having it, so I rooted it and put a custom kernel on it, stuck on 9.0 never let me update as I was not familiar with A/B partitioning, yet! The answers I saw to your questions were spot on, I just had a little to add to it and I'm sure I am not alone. Real quick let me list what has gone wrong on the rare occasion it hit the fan with the 6t...
- When I would accidentally and rarely let my battery die it seemed like it took forever to get it to reboot, I mean it sat on my desk of DOA devices for 2 weeks!
- It often seems like the buttons do not always respond properly and never have when I needed them to. Been through this before, I've bricked and unbricked and flashed and re-flashed and wiped all weekend and I like Android 10 and all but seems everything is different for every build, and everything seems to have to go in the right order with the exact right file or you wind up in a jam, period..
- That said, the previous person that answered your question has likely encountered similar, I've heard of right down to the buttons not physically working, but I have been a Smart Device Master III Technician for over 5 years, i know my buttons were not broken.
- Most likely culprit that I just handled and worked, i did have to use the MSM tool, several times - and re-unlock the BL, several times I would not even get the chance to get to fastboot, just a screen saying Build and Hardware not a match"" in yellow letters and it just bootlooped. No fastboot is no good, but when you said the tool would show some signs of working but then not, I have 2 solutions that I needed on diffrent occcasions.
1 - As mentioned fully try other USB cables, and ports, if you pull the usb-c out of the port and hold <power + vol up + vol down> eventually it will do something, very picky, sometimes gotta move your fingers to different spots on the buttons and also after 15-20sec let go of power and hit and hold it again... after a few seconds before it vibrates stick the cable in connected to your PC and the screen will be black (obv) but the msm tool will pick up on it. I know about the cables because I take good care of my phones and cables and charging ports, however on my final fix today it showed in msm tool it was connected but waiting for device.... Fed up i put the phone down and moved the usb cable a little bit and it picked up on it and did its thing! That part was just the cable, getting into qualcomm mode or w.e. is a bit tricky sometimes.
- Also someone said set it down for a while and come back to it.. THAT WORKS!! Let it fully charge and often just plugging in charger turns it on, bootloop soft brick or however have you, very simiilar to an Apple device and their DFU (don't f up mode cause screen is black..)
I hope that helps you get in touch with your family and friends.. Whatever you do, don't give up bc if you have not got it yet, you will! One other note, there are a few different msm tools available and they look the same some same size, but the one that supposed to work on my phone didn't and one that they say only a fool would attempt to try actually saved me, so if all else fails, use a different msm tool/usb cable and you will get it! I don't think I can post links yet I am on here very rarely, but plan on more! I have received so much help from XDA throughout the years on thousands of phones with just software issues alone, aas well as guides to my own phones. I would be honored to give back as I also have some extensive knowledge on many devices but I am a noob in comparison to many! Stay safe, good luck and please update and let us/ me know how it worked out for you. If i can help further I will, I have every firmware file for the OP6t, recovery, tools, software, this is not new to me but I feel your frustration!
