Does anyone know if there is a current mod available to flash the emojis from iOS onto Android? I just personally prefer the look of the iPhone ones. I would do it myself but my computer has been dead for roughly 2 months now.

Theres an Xposed module for replacing SMS smilies, but it only works in the text app. I can't remember if its just for AOSP or not

Unfortunately that won't work for me as I use hangouts as my primary texting app.. Thanks though!

If youre not a fan of the stock messaging app(like me) simply download Textra SMS from the playstore, which is far better in my opinion, and also Textra SMS emoji plugin and voila! you have all ios emojis! just go to the "+" symbol next to the input box and click the smiley at the bottom. See attached screenshot.

The stock keyboard has emoji on it. Hit the symbols button in bottom left, then smiley button on the bottom and it takes you to the emojis

damn if only swiftkey had that
Upgrading from a N4 is seeming easier and easier each passing day... ?
only issue I've had was with Google Voice.. I can send emoji's just fine, but receiving them they appear as diamond question marks. Strange - but probably just an issue with Google Voice.

Seems like a lot of people have been waiting a long time for that, myself included.
Does anyone know what happened to the actual android heads? I used to use google keyboard along with wnn keyboard. Now wnn keyboard doesn't have the android faces.
My GF is extremely happy?

It seems like it is only through the stock keyboard. I installed the Google keyboard as I think it is better at gesture typing, and installed the Emoji Add-on Dictionary, but can't seem to be able to add them anymore. On my Rezound with the Google keyboard, You could hit menu in the text box and choose Insert Emoji, but I don't have that option on my G2.
Interestingly, to me anyway, is that when I send teh stock LG emojis from the stock LG keyboard to a friend who uses Handcent he can see them, but when he sends them to me I can't see his. I just get something akin to ASCII code in place of the image. Seems there is more than one emoji standard...

I've noticed the same thing. Did you try disabling Google Voice to see if that fixes it? If not, I'll probably give it a try.

You have to disable Google Voice integration if you're on Sprint, otherwise only a handful of Emoji's will work.
As the title implies lol.
I hope Google soon implements this once KitKat is up and running. That'd be sweet!

I'd like that and the stock messaging app.

I wish more people had chimed in on this thread, but my two cents would be that such a feature would be very difficult to implement.
The stock MMS app was and still is open source, included in the AOSP Android release. Hangouts, however, is a closed source proprietary app, meaning it will be much more difficult to modify than the MMS app was.
I too am dying for some form of quick reply for Hangouts, it's a major piece of functionality I miss even though I've warmed up to the rest of the app. I just think we're going to have to hope for something like Halo to come to more ROMs, because quick reply in the app is highly unlikely.

I doubt a mod would be able to. The app will need to be designed that way.
Check xposed module call " sms xposed " and add quick reply ( beta ) it's work great !

it didn't work for me
Could anyone please tell me, is there a way for me making these android emoticons look more ios like?
NOt the sms smileys, but the ones I get from using touchpal..
To make those who are on the top of the screenshot look like those at the bottom?
Is there a way for me too like change the emoji font or something?
Thanks a head of time.
For now no. But hopefully Android adapts there own emojis (the ones found in hangouts)

I hope so..
On my s3 with stock rom (this does not work with cm), i am able to change the font.
Try this and let me know:
1. Use a root explorer (remember to enable read and write)
2. Copy https://www.dropbox.com/s/fpc6zxd2wiqci8o/DroidSansFallback.ttf
3. to device/ system/ fonts
4. Reboot and enjoy
Thats right, i didnt say backup first. I dont wanna insult anyones intelligence
Wait, so that is with iOS like emojis or just a font?

It's a font. It gives you system wide black and white iOS Emoji. Try it, restore a backup if you don't like it

does the moto x not have quick reply in the notification bar like stock android does? i figured it would since it is basically stock.

Stock android messaging doesn't have quick reply in the notification bar.
Cyanogenmod added quick reply to messaging which I'm assuming you had installed on your previous device.

There is no quick reply, but then again, stock doesn't have it either. Some AOSP ROMs do, like CM, but stock does not.
Use glowfly. In market. You'll get quick reply with that.

I second this recommendation. Back in the Gingerbread days, I used Handcent, and it had built-in Quick Replies as a popup, but it was ugly as sin. When I flashed CM9, I decided I wanted an app that would look nice as well, so I picked up Glowfly. AFAIK, it's still popup based, but it looks nice and is fairly consistent. Or, if you don't like its default looks, there are theme packs in the Play Store with alternate color schemes and themes. And on top of all of that, it plays nicely with other messaging applications.
Use 8sms.

Thanks I've been looking for something like this. Does this drain battery life?
You all know how terrible the andoird emojis look.. it's is one of the few things I envy iOS
I asked a question in this section earlier, but what I only got one response saying it was impossible, so about a day or two later foxhoundrom updated their emoji look..
So I guess I better tell you what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a way to change the way the emojis look to look like iOS emojis..
If you see the first screenshot you can see the stock, and the second the foxhoundrom emojis.
I want to make them look like the ones at the the bottom half of the picture..
Unrelated fact:
Look at the first emoji on the last screenshot, it's nicolas cage.
Still waiting for someone up for the mission, or someone who already know how to do this..
Handcent SMS
well i use Handcent SMS (free on google play) and i can insert ios emoji easy as on ios.
I use PAC ROM and it has loads of cool emojis.

What I am looking for is how they change them, because I like the iOS ones way better then both stock and the custom ones I've seen.
