[Q] The Android Emoji Question - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

You all know how terrible the andoird emojis look.. it's is one of the few things I envy iOS
I asked a question in this section earlier, but what I only got one response saying it was impossible, so about a day or two later foxhoundrom updated their emoji look..
So I guess I better tell you what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a way to change the way the emojis look to look like iOS emojis..
If you see the first screenshot you can see the stock, and the second the foxhoundrom emojis.
I want to make them look like the ones at the the bottom half of the picture..
Unrelated fact:
Look at the first emoji on the last screenshot, it's nicolas cage.

Still waiting for someone up for the mission, or someone who already know how to do this..

Handcent SMS
well i use Handcent SMS (free on google play) and i can insert ios emoji easy as on ios.

I use PAC ROM and it has loads of cool emojis.

What I am looking for is how they change them, because I like the iOS ones way better then both stock and the custom ones I've seen.

Multiview in N4

My frind have sgs3 and he have multiview
The N4 have the same? and how can we do that ?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
That's a Samsung Touchwiz feature, not on the N4 until the rom is ported
I am hoping someone can find a way to make it work without the need to port touch wiz, seeing as most people buy the N4 because it'd plain vanilla android

I had the note 2 and never really used it but only to show off. It is an amazing feature though and I'm sure lots of people use it.

I hope its gets ported as well I miss showing that off with my Note 2 lol...its a very good feature if you wanna text and do something else at the same time....if that comes to the N4 that would only make this device that much more greater...
I will like to do this in my N4 too. It would be cool to do two things at once. Hey btw didn't the video ad of the LG Optimus G showed the person watching the a video while he was sending a text?? Where is this function in my N4?

Hi,
There is not (have you read the thread? )... You can search on the Play Store there are some apps wich allow this (search for floating video, floating browser, floating sms, etc) but it's not in native on the N4... We have a pure Android device, not a Touchwiz or whatever overlay... But some apps does the job... So you'll can do something else while regarding a video for example...
Sms: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hkdevelopers.apps.multiWindow.messenger.free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.floating.message
Video: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gpc.myweb.hinet.net.PopupVideo
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hkdevelopers.apps.videoplayer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rong.floating
Youtube: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sudsoftware.floatingyoutubepopupplayer
Browser: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gpc.myweb.hinet.net.PopupWeb
Etc...

AW: Multiview in N4
I thought that touchwiz allows to use multiview with every app. Compared to that, these apps are only compromises.

AFAIK this can only be achieved by modding. Otherwise its a set list of apps that can do it.
If you want a definitive answer search on the SGS3 or GN2 forums.

[Q] Best Text Messaging App For Nexus 4?

I don't like the stock SMS app because of the text alignment so i've been searching for a good DECENT STANDARD messaging app. I do not want anything fancy, I want something that fits the Nexus 4 theme considering I have a Nexus 4. I want something that's good & responsive.
There is no best, it's completely subjective. Try out a few of the most popular SMS apps on the play store and figure out which one suits you best, its probably faster than waiting for replies.

recommend one?
The only third party SMS app I've used is GoSMS and that was alright.
I´m using chomp SMS, and has been for a couple of years. It has everything I need. =)

Handcent is one of the main 3rd party options.
I like Sliding Messaging , still kind of new but developer is doing a good job updating it,
I am using Contacts+.
Its not bad and also does a good job with social integration.
GoSMS

A new rom idea/request

So i have been looking for custom roms on many different websites, but there isn't one that i would say "this is the one" rom.
I have been think for what kind of rom i want for my GT-I9500, and here are some ideas that i came up with.
1) I have the google nexus 4 as well and the screen color on it looks amazing. Every time i switch on the phone, it just makes me want to look at the phone long. So maybe a rom that can make the screen color on the s4 better looking. (i don't know how to describe it)
2) I kinda like some of the samsung features like the multi window, quick glance, air browse, air move, air call accept, the palm motions, s beam.
3) On my nexus 4 i flashed the PAC-man rom, and i like it too.
4) I saw that some people can finish entering their pin and unlock the screen like the iphone without clicking ok/enter.
So maybe some developers can combine all these features and make a new rom, so for the people who doesn't want to get ride of all the samsung features and have many good features from the other roms.
If there is some kind of rom is like that already, can someone tell me the link? Thank you ~
Why is there a double post?

[Q] Emoji ios like?

Could anyone please tell me, is there a way for me making these android emoticons look more ios like?
NOt the sms smileys, but the ones I get from using touchpal..
To make those who are on the top of the screenshot look like those at the bottom?
Is there a way for me too like change the emoji font or something?
Thanks a head of time.

I hope so..
On my s3 with stock rom (this does not work with cm), i am able to change the font.
Try this and let me know:
1. Use a root explorer (remember to enable read and write)
2. Copy https://www.dropbox.com/s/fpc6zxd2wiqci8o/DroidSansFallback.ttf
3. to device/ system/ fonts
4. Reboot and enjoy
Thats right, i didnt say backup first. I dont wanna insult anyones intelligence
Wait, so that is with iOS like emojis or just a font?

It's a font. It gives you system wide black and white iOS Emoji. Try it, restore a backup if you don't like it

IPhone style emojis in kit Kat?

Does anyone know if there is a current mod available to flash the emojis from iOS onto Android? I just personally prefer the look of the iPhone ones. I would do it myself but my computer has been dead for roughly 2 months now.

Theres an Xposed module for replacing SMS smilies, but it only works in the text app. I can't remember if its just for AOSP or not

If youre not a fan of the stock messaging app(like me) simply download Textra SMS from the playstore, which is far better in my opinion, and also Textra SMS emoji plugin and voila! you have all ios emojis! just go to the "+" symbol next to the input box and click the smiley at the bottom. See attached screenshot.
