It's normal, because changing the Net.
No Solution!
Same you change the WLAN at the moment of downloading.
From LTE to WCDMA, or from LTE to GSM. It doesn't matter. Connection will be disconnected and reconnect after switching to the other band.

that's make me checked WCDMA only
Yes, or don't move if you get a good LTE Signal and wait to complete your download

You are right
This is actually normal. Because LTE is a Data-Only signal, it needs to turn Data off for a second to reconnect to the signal with a voice-codec.

So as we know, LTE is data connection and doesn't support voice service by now , so there are 3 ways of workaround.
1. VoLTE, isn't available for now anyway.
2. CSFB, means connect to 4G in use, but switch back to 2G/3G when calling, where Internet will get killed if on switch back on 2G.
3. SVLTE, means connect to both LTE and 2G/3G , data goes on LTE and voice goes on 2G/3G, of course battery life is reduced.
So I was wounding how does our s4(i9505) work on such matter?
Anyone please?

Looking on the icons during the call, the data connection usually disappears during the call. Therefore I'd presume that all data connections are terminated.

I observed this in LTE, 3G and 2G range already. ALL means ALL.
Hi,
I updated to D80220D yesterday through the LG support tool, but i've noticed that im not seeing 'H+' displayed any more even in locations where I usually do see it.
Im on Three and the correct APN setting are in and ive got the network selection set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto.
Any ideas?
Ok, so i've done some further investigating and after looking at the hidden menu *#*#4636#*#* i can see my signal cycling between HSPA and HSPAP which I assume is H and H+ respectively. But when it says HSPAP my icon stays on H and doesn't show H+....so now im even more confused. Its like im getting that signal but it is not displaying to me graphically.
On stock 4.4.2 rom on nexus 4 H+ is also showed as H

I have a D80220A Hong Kong international version and it doesn't show H+ never. In settings, it shows HSPAP sometimes... I think it is only a Rom issue, but the phone is working in H+ because of HSPAP

D80220A Croatia version, phone from Thailand. It does show H+ for me.

In PANAMA BUILD D80220C
In Panama with build D80220c does not show H+ but in settings and in the hidden menu shows HSPA HSPAP alternativily.

In my network, the operator can set the policy to force the user to use 2G or 3G network first.
By default it is 3g h+ when I turn on my data plan. I only see edge after recovering from a signal loss

Hi
I have S4 9505 and it only connects to gsm 900 band which is EDGE in my country. I'v searched but i came up with nothing so thats why I'm asking here if any1 knows how to fix this phone to register on 1800 or 1900 LTE bands. Im pretty sure that it has to do with the modem. Is there any way to force the phone to register 1900 band through service mode *#0011#?
Thanks
If it is the modem why don't you change it?

Open the dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#*
Go to phone information and tab the menu button or the 3 dots.
Go to select radio band and try switching bands.

Did it ever work on LTE? It might be that your SIM isn't LTE capable or that your provider has yet to enable it for your number/contract. This happened to me too when I got the phone and wondered why LTE wouldn't work. Try asking them about this.
Also, I'm not on stock anymore but I think there might be a setting for network preference somewhere, something akin to limiting data only to EDGE/H+.
Found the SOLUTION at last http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help/i9505-doesnt-3g-t2998527/page2
Somehow this worked like a charm
Hi all,
I have a problem with S7 Edge when I choose LTE (4G) connection and test the speed by SpeedTest program. It shows that my connection speed (in 4g) is too low but if I select "only 3G" option everyting is ok. Vodafone (operator) says there is no problem in their system. I will connect to the internet but SpeedTest says your speed is unstable and low. There is no problem in wi-fi connection or other thing. Any suggestions?

Sounds straight forward, the LTE signal is weak wherever you are. I have the same thing going on, my HSPA+ (3g) is stronger than my 4G. It's location based.

Thanx for reply, will try different operator I hope it will fix it. It's interesting cause I tested the device speed in the town center. I dont have any problems other than that for now

Yeah, just try a different area too. You can check out the LTE Discovery app. It'll provide used information for you.
