Cyanogenmod - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can I install cyanogenmod 10.2 on my lg optimus l7 4.1.2 with v20e rom?

Yes, you can do it.
Personnaly, I flashed a V20d firmware already rooted and with the bootloader unlocked with KDZ Updater ( tutorials are available on a lot of websites ).
Once it's done, install CWM from the Play Store, and in the app, you can flash CMW recovery ( no worries, everything is done almost automatically ).
After, download any ROM you want for our device, Google Apps Package ( aka GAPPS ) for the Android version of your ROM, the V10 baseband for Android 4.1 and v20 for 4.2 or later, and the corresponding kernels if you're using a P705 or 708.
Enter in the recovery ( power off the device, press VOL+ / VOL - / HOME / POWER BUTTON till the phone vibrates. Then, keep pressing VOL+ / VOL - / HOME two seconds and release them.
Your phone is now in the recovery mode.
Now, you have to use VOL+ and VOL- to navigate inside the recovery and POWER button to select something.
First, perform a backup ( backup and restore )
After, wipe data, cache and dalvik cache ( advanced / dalvik ).
Then, select install ZIP, search the firmware, and select yes. If the installation is succesfull, reboot the device and wait. If it boots normally, go back in recovery to flash GAPPS and baseband.
If if fails to boot after more than 10 minutes, try to wipe again cache and dalvik !

Problems with defy.

My defy doesn't power up..no recovery mode, no boot logo. i have 4.1.1 CM9 installed..i tried to install 4.0.4 and then appeared tho cyanogen boot logo and that's it. I followed this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537 and now my phone doesn't power up.
WHAT CAN I DO NOW!? Please help me!(
I don't know the english language very well so please don't judge me.
Some more information please..
Please tell me the exact steps you followed to get a custom recovery and also mention which ROM you flashed (BTW 4.1.x is CM10) and what process you followed in recovery mode..
The steps you should have followed are -
1. root your phone
2. install 2ndinit
3. download the rom and the gapps (and kernel if required) and place them in your sd card
4. boot into bootmenu and then custom recovery (press volume down button when the blue led shines while booting up - when the red moto logo is displyed)
5. in recovery - wipe data, wipe cache, advanced - wipe dalvik, install the zips (rom and gapps, kernel if required) from sd card, wipe cache again, wipe dalvik again, reboot
6. wait! beacause first boot is lengthy..
7. enjoy your device.
If you have done anything different or have not done anything from the above mentioned steps, please repeat the process doing that also..
BTW the link you have mentioned is a collection of stock SBF files..(default moto roms)
There is nothing there which will help you to upgrade to ICS or JB..
Please check this thread for Jelly Bean 4.1.2..(CM10)
It is a great place to start because it is the latest as well as simple to install ( one build for both defy and defy+)
But if you want a stable build, check this. It is 2.3.7 gingerbread..(CM7)
No kernel flashing required for both the roms
Please press the thanks button if this post helped you :highfive:
PS: which language do you speak natively, maybe we can help you in that language :fingers-crossed:

Stuck Boot Logo after Custom Rom

Hey,
I have a problem after flash a custom rom (Phoenix) Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-phoenix-rom-v1-0-t3424650 I follow every step, and I will list them
1.) Download TWRP 3.0.1 + SuperSu + no-verity-opt-encrypt and Flashed(Perfect, boot into stock with no problem)
2.) Download Bootloader: BL_G935FXXS1APG3_CL8252943_QB10235864_REV00_user_l ow_ship.tar.md5
3.) Download MODEM: CP_G935FXXU1APEQ_CL8206888_QB9747462_REV00_user_lo w_ship.tar.md5
4.) Installed them (Odin), reboot and loaded the stock rom with no problem, checked for the new modem.
5.) Moved Custom rom into the MicroSD, reboot into recovery, Factory Reset + Data Reset, installed the rom and...
Stuck into the Samsung Boot Logo with red letters at top (Kernel is not seandroid enforcing)-> I dont think that isnt wrong because I receive the same red letters when I booting into the recovery.
Any Idea?? I followed the steps listed by the Rom's creator
Thank you!!
1. You're edge... not flat .... right?
I think the bootloader U downloaded is for edge and if you have flat... download that one...
2. Stuck on 1st galaxy s7 edge page or 2nd samsung boot anim?
3. Many issues with booting is because of bootloader... reflash modem and bootloader again... ( i mean try flashin now... dont flash rom again after that and see...)
+ note: its sometimes better U open odin as adminstrator....
I'll think more.... try these reflashin bootloader and report... i'll give U more advise if i can find something......

Bootlooped after install of Lineage, twice!

Hey all,
Phone is new to me, t-mo version. Did the international conversion, unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP 3.3.1.1.img. All with minimal issues. Installed the 20200121 nightly of LOS successfully, but it powered off a few minutes after getting through the setup menu. Bootlooped. I may have gotten it out of the bootloop with the vol up+down trick from the msmdownloadtool trick, or something, cause I got the screen to turn off and left it for the night.
Tonight, the phone was totally dead, but I was able to start over with the (patched) msmtool I used initially. All good. Went through the same steps and got TWRP and LOS installed. This time I used last nights nightly 20200123. All set for a minute, before it bootlooped again.
Here's some details that might be useful:
The phone powered off after unplugging it. This is when the bootloop started, I can't be sure it was after dissconnecting each time, but at least the last time. The battery was >80%. I also managed to get it to boot into LOS after the most recent bootloop, for a few minutes, and it powered off without being connected or disconnected. So probably not related.
I did a system wipe, along with the format, as recommended in the LOS installation steps from them
The system wipe maybe wasn't a good idea??
I tried to sideload LOS.zip, which seemed to work fine according to my terminal, but it warned me that I had no OS installed when I went to reboot. So I adb pushed LOS and installed. I got the same no OS warning, but rebooted anyway this time. LOS started up fine, for a few minutes, before powering off and then looping.
Could I have 2 instances conflicting??
Nothing else installed yet, not root, magisk, or anything yet.
I shut it down this time with a vol up + power, which worked. I'm done for tonight, but I would appreciate any ideas on what may be causing this so I can give it a third go tomorrow.
Thanks!
try this

just switch slots in cmd or via twrp and reboot system and factory reset wipe all via the settings in the booted system, not twrp
I'm a little slow..
I got the phone back to factory with the msmtool, so I'm ready to do this! I get the general idea, but for a few of these, can you ELI5. Thanks so much for taking the time to help me out.

Install twrp installer. Do I just find the zip in the file structure in twrp and install? I'm at this step in twrp and I don't see how to install it. Previously I had `adb push twrp.img /storage/` so that I had a file I could find and install. If it's already there just from `fastboot boot twrp.img`, I can't seem to find it.
--solved this by pushing the twrp-intaller.zip to /storage, and then installing. It did the expected installation to both a/b

I went to `mount` and checked all the boxes. Then went back to `wipe advanced` and checked all those boxes. Now I'm stuck at the fastboot screen and can't boot or start. :crying:
I can't do a `fastboot boot twrp.img either. Any suggestions before I blow it away with the msmtool again??????

Not sure what you mean by this part here. I wasn't planning on installing gapps. I'm confused about the reseting both slots. Is the idea that I did the install twice above, so that it's on both a/b slots and I'd have to reset both if there's a problem?
