ML1 update (p600) - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

I'm quite impressed. Performance is a lot better. Still 4.3 of course but a lot lot faster. I've got it from here http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=SM-P600 . For now there's only a Taiwanese version available, but who cares.

what about root? how to root?

Samsungs namin system is annoying. ML1 is newer than MK1. What differences do you notice?

I would have thought more people would be talking about this.

I used the ported CF auto root from the development section. The method still works. It triggers the KNOX Warranty Counter. But I don't care.

I jumped straight from MJ6 to this one. Can't say anything about the difference with MK1, but compared to MJ6 it is definitely a lot snapier . Much more responsive. Because I use the note on a day to day basis I'm sure it is not a placebo effect. Things just work a lot more smooth. It is a significant boost)

You wont trip the knox flag cause this is a firmware which is signed by samsung. Use Odin to flash it.

ah
i tired it, but i can not notice a significant difference to MK1 except for the missing multi user support....

i just install it over k1.. little snappier..
also the home button wakeup lag is gone to me.
lost the multi user support but i never use i, beside lost some default fonts.

so far notice the different keyboard, I did flash it with ODIN and my knox counter is still at 0 so all good
*update
REally not sure if this is the latest because it has no multi user and the ripple unlock effect screen is there.

So do we have to wait for this to be released in our respective regions or can we just flash the taiwanese version with no sisses? I'm in Canada.

I'm in the u.s. and odin it and it's working very well! Seems a bit smoother. No twitter or watch on, also not able to get purchased videos from the Samsung hub but able to get the purchased apps. Is there a way to side load the twitter app?

Sorry for a noon question but will flashing this in ODIN wipe or just update the appropriate files?

S4 firmware dumping ground

This thread steered in a direction I originally didn't mean to but now it serves another purpose.
We'll have this thread as an S4 dumping ground, where we dump S4 firmwares, discuss them and try to see if and what apps work with the S3.

I am never fully satisfied but I'm the most satisfied with Omega though. ^^
Btw, there's an S Voice app out which is from a GS4 system dump. Should we rename it to voicetalk.apk to have it launch with a double home click?
http://hotfile.com/dl/199986593/6b163c0/S-Voice_Android_phone_J.apk.html
Modified Omega V39 .
Remove more bloat change boot animation added sound mods .
Dont bother to update a stable rom until a better version or better firmware is released .
All these incremental updates are usually only minor changes .
I would build a rom through the kitchen but really not much difference if any to the roms already modded .
Non Touchwizz stuff never liked any of it and have a strong preference for TW Launcher .
jje
I'm running Ultima V11 right now, Nexus 4 launcher, kept some bloat like Samsung apps and S voice, runs really smooth and I think I'm in love.
Ok so I renamed the SIV S Voice to Voicetalk and replace the S3 one and set the proper permissions, rebooted and now tried it. Much much much faster and looooads better at perception. It now almost fully hears what I say despite me not being a native English speaker.

Is 4.3 MK9 fixed?

Hi, I am new to this device.
I have been hearing stuff about poor battery life, lag, reboots and a load of random bugs with 4.3. Many are articles made in October of this year.
Has MK9 fixed a lot of those bugs? Would you say its similar in performance and stability to that of 4.2.2? Is it worth the upgrade?
Thanks,

[Q] Should i buy i9300 or i9305 ?? Pls HELP :D

I know that i9305 has 1GB more of RAM and has LTE but im confused about developer support. Everyone says that it has almost none developer support. Does that mean that even Samsung wont develope new updates and it will have less features than i9300, or it means that it wont have as much custom ROMs as i9300 has ?
If i9305 has the same updates and the same features that come with those as i9300, then ill go for i9305 for sure
And BTW i dont need LTE
Hope someone will answer fast
Thanks in advance!!
You're better off buying another device, perhaps a Nexus 5 or even the newer SGS if money is not a problem.

Well i kinda dont have money for better device And i find S3 the best phone for me right now but that developer support for i9305 bothers me
And also do i really need that extra 1GB of RAM ? I saw videos on youtube and only difference i noticed was that i9300 needs to reopen apps after it consumes too much RAM and that makes him a bit slower than i9305 everything else seemes exact same

depending on where you live/LTE coverage. there isnt too much of a difference between the 2 devices. i used my i9300 and my uncles i9305 and couldnt notice much if anything. so if you dont need LTE save yourself some money and buy a good case or something

Get the i9305. Even without the dev support, you'll still be able to find one or two decent roms. And these days everything is achieved by Xposed anyways. The newer updates from 4.3 on will really need the extra ram.

Well the dev support is great with 9300, also i don't see ram as an issue too. It depends upon whether he's a heavy multi-task user or lowe multi-task user? I'm pretty happy with 200-300mb ram free always

If we get stock 4.4 on our I9300, won't it be supposed to consume less ram than stock 4.3 ? After all the whole point of KitKat was less ram consumption.
I'm actually expecting when samsung releases 4.4 for our device it will greatly improve multitasking... hope I'm not wrong.

try Tilt Scroll is not the same but is good :good:
I don't understand how it worked for you! I have tried to see how that thing works (I know how it should) in broad daylight under direct sunlight, but I could never make it work! Not only that, Smart Pause, Smart Stay, none of them worked! I was sure that something is wrong with my eyes, maybe people need to have some different kind of eyes, but then I asked at least a dozen of my friend to try to make it work, they all failed, I sighed knowing I have human eyes. Since then I hated any Smart features, and I am so happy that Lollipop doesn't have most of them.

[Q] [5.1.1] Note3 Stock ROM

Hello Pals,
Any idea if we will get an official default stock 5.1.1 for Note3 like we got for 5.0 ?
Because, i have updated my Note3 manually with 5.0 as in my country my operator didn't receive it yet. so am very sure that 5.1.1 is going to reach extremely late.
Please share your inputs.
Thanks in Advance.
Ask Samsung .
AS not all have received 5.0 yet then it may skip 5.1.1 .

I personally do not think Samsung is going to provide an update but that's my personal thought . That's the reason why I'm running Temasek's CM12.1 on my Galaxy Note 3. And honestly, I am much happier now due to the fact I'm running always the latest android version which is faster and smoother than TW. The only downside may be the missing s-pen functionality.
Infact, i already raised this concern to Samsung, but they haven't given an anticipated date, they just asked me to wait for Android 5.0
But i believe that 5.1.1 will come for sure for Note3. But maybe it gets delayed.
