[Q] URGENT: Sprint to T-mobile or Metro PCS ? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Anyway i can Domestic Sim unlock or flash my SPH-L720 to T-Mobile or Metro PCS ?
I'm using 4.3 MK2 and can't seem to downgrade in order to sim unlock through the normal method

I would say to call sprint to get it unlocked but seems like you haven't paid your bill or have a bad ESN

I haven't found a downgrade method anywhere and the only way to achieve domestic unlock is through mdc modem.

I think you just have to install the MDC modem not the entire firmware. Go to the all sprint firmware post and install the mdc modem. Follow the unlocking steps and then you can go back to the MK2 modem after unlock.

As of now you can't downgrade the modem on mk2 or mja if you took an OTA update to get there. If you flashed your way there and kept mf9 you can downgrade easily.

can i go back to 4.2.2 from 4.3?

hey guys... im on 4.3 MK2 rooted, can i install a 4.2.2 rom stock or custom ?? with 4.2.2 modem and bootloader.
thanks.
If you updated by keeping the MF9 bootloader you can go back to stock. If you took the OTA however, you can only downgrade to 4.2 with a custom ROM.

but i can downgrade to 4.2 (100% 4.2) using a custom rom?? or i will be on 4.2 but with the same new bootloader?
what custom rom would work in my case? if you can give me a link to one.. there are so many here.
If you're on the MJA or MK2 bootloader, you're stuck with it.
And why would you want to go back to 4.2? Any ROM would work, but seems kind of pointless.

i downgraded the modem to mdc and did the unlock process. it worked, i can make and receive calls but when the phone is going to 3g i get a error message "LTE esm 29 emm-x cannot establish wireless data connection" nobody else had that issue.. i dont know if hte fact that my phone is not activated on spring is relevant.. it shouldn't be, because im using the phone outside the US.
i dont know what to do to make this thing work.. i have flashed from mdc to mk2 or mja like 5 times and i always get the same message.

Once on mf9/mk2 you can't flash back/downgrade due to knox bootloader from my understanding. Search forums to be sure.

[Q] Where to download the oldest firmware for this phone

I am trying to downgrade an AT&T S4 so that i can factory unlock it.
I downloaded Samsung-Updates.com-SGH-I337-ATT-I337UCUAMDL-1367050591 from a couple different mirrors and they're all corrupt so I don't even know if this version works.
edit: I guess ..What's the latest firmware the *#0011# trick will work on?
Or is this even possible? It has UCUAMF3 installed
(And I have read up on MF3 and still don't understand if this is possible.)
Thanks in advance for any help! I have already been googling for a couple days.

It will brick it. Then if your on mk2 it will be a fight to repair. If your on mf3, it's not so hard, you can odin back. This phones bootloader is locked. So no downgrading.

I'm on the same situation, just got my phone from AT&T (SGH-i337) with 4.4.2, now on baseband NC1, I would like to root the phone and it seems the only way is downgrading to NB1 and then downgrade again to MK2.
But I'm not so sure if it's safe to flash the roms having a SIM lock on my phone, is it necessary to unlock it before trying to flash?
Another noob question, a locked bootloader means I can't get CWM, but can I still install custom roms installable through Odin?
Sorry, No custom ROM's for locked bootloaders.

Sim Locking only restricts your phone to a particular carrier, it wouldn't interfere with a custom rom, as long as said rom was built for your carrier.
