I wonder what is the best ROM for my note 2, which maintains all the features of s-pen and you do not have third-party applications.
I want stable with good gaming performance and great battery life a ROM. Got some with pure android? Touchwiz interface does not want!
Don't we all.....
you want all s-pen features with pure android rom?
are you crazy man ?
is there nobody sane enough to tell you that s-pen features only work with touchwiz.
Ditto Note 3 3.1.1 has very good performance and almost all the features of the Note 3. Some issues, but almost very very minor.
My vote is for Fakejap one.

Great battery life
everything working without fcs
And... is 240dpi!
Is perfect

Posts like this aren't allowed on XDA, please take a look in the dev section and find the most appropriate one for you.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to know which Rom is best, but one question arouse:
Most Roms have the Note 3 features enclosed and tamirda and DrKetan have teamed up to create the Note 3 Mod Project, but it is hard to find any rom to test this project... besides, these two great developers have their own custom roms like Phoenix, which profit from the project and others, as you can read, do it the same way.....
It's really hard to consider all pros and cons and make a decision.

OK, no problem features s-pen only work on TouchWiz, tell me what is the best ROM for better performance and battery life.
I do not like the TouchWiz interface, with KitKat Launcher I can change the look of TouchWiz without losing performance?

What are the major differences between stock android 4.2 and the CM10 ROM? What are the major reasons I`d flash cm10 on my N4 (or any other device) vs vs keeping the stock OS? Thanks in advance.

Configurable LED notifications, configurable settings tiles, profiles, new options on the power menu, new options for the lock screen, allegedly better battery life, more configurable launcher and notifications bar... Those are just the ones that stand out in my mind this morning; there are many more features that I don't even notice or use.
Other than CM's signature features, will there be any speed improvements? CM10 sped up my arc like crazy, but I doubt it'll have the same effect on an (already) vanilla Nexus 4.

Another aspect oft CM ist that you can influence the developement quite easy according to your skills. They have an public accessible issue tracker (JIRA), where you can report bugs or suggest new features. They run a code review system (gerrit) where you can submit patches without even beeing a well known developer. If your patch is approved by the maintainers, it's in the git repository and will lands in your device when you install the next nightly.
Get involved!
If you're a flashaholic you will love the nightly builds. Your device improves day by day.

Who the hell told you that? I've not seen a single shred of evidence to suggest that the CM10 battery life is better than stock, or AOKP for that matter.
From what most people are reporting, the best battery life is achieved on stock, which unsurprisingly has been the case on most Android devices. CM7 had very poor on battery life on most Android devices, and CM10 has got a reputation for that too. I'm not saying CM10 doesn't have it's benefits because it truly does, and some of them are fantastic, but I reckon if you want good battery life stick with stock.

That depends totally on the device. On galaxy s (i9000) cm9/10 battery life is ways better than stock (just my experience).

Total bollocks that is. CM9 and CM10 had varying battery life on the i9000 but CM10 seemed to perform fairly poorly battery wise. CM9 was better but then again all ICS roms were better.
No Roms that aren't based on stock for i9000 are better battery wise than the original due to the well known 3G bug (google it if you need), so that is utter rubbish.

Had a bad meal?
It's just my experience. You could be right as i use 3g quite few (most in WiFi covered areas).
No, but I just grew out of CM, in general, a few months back. It's fantastic software yes, it has tonnes of features yes, but the bugs, make it impractical, and there are bugs in CM.
I think it will be probably a few years before I give CM another chance.

Then move a step forward. Try AOKP. It has much more than 'tonnes' of features and it will surely weigh much more than small bugs you may still see.

Ben
Hey guys when I got Nexus S it's official software update was at 4.1.1 so it didn't make sence to tri GB or ICS roms, it felt like a downgrade, everyone wants the latest stftware, right? But I recently got to thinking that when Galaxy Nexus came out with the first ICS people who had a Nexus S didn't really hurry to upgrade case they knew that they would be getting ICS asswell, but now with 4.2 not being supported ofitially it makes since to change the phone. My point is that eaven if GB and ICS are older the develpoment was more alive, so what are your thoughts? Should I try Gb or ICS? Whats the best experience you had in terms of music, video battery life gameplay (eaven if I never play games on a phone) regardless of the software wersion. I should mention that I'm a flashaholic so it doesent matter what rom I use case I get bored with it pretty fast, I'm always eger to flash something on my phone.
ICS is laggy. GB looks and feels outdated. Jelly bean is your best bet for a complete user experience.
1. Install carbon unofficial rom: http://goo.im/devs/Gingo21/Carbon/Crespo/CARBON-JB-EXP-17AVRIL2013-161548-crespo.zip
2. Install voodoo sound app and configure.
3. Enjoy a lag-free overall user experience (limited to most games) and great battery life (although i experienced the longest battery life on slim 4.2.1 v1.1, but not as fast as carbon)
4. Don't expect your NS to be as fast as a quad core device. But it can be on par with a dual core device in terms of UI and gaming experience.

Yes I know a custom rom isn't going to do wonders, I was just curious about older roms that I didnt try, I'm actually on Carbon, the last nightly, but the unofficial seames to be better than all the nightly's put together, thank you
ICS is generally the most battery friendly (can last days), but laggy.
Difficult to answer
I've been using Carbon ROM with Marmite kernel 8.5(bigmem), the experience has been quite good, much better than these low end devices i have at home. UI is buttery smooth and fluid. Temple Run 2 is a bit slow-ish but i dont mind. Now the main factor, battery! yes its not that great, GB was the best i hear. I think my battery is faulty too, might go for a 2450 mAh battery.

There's only one bug as of right now that i know of, and that's the copy/paste force close, which is hardly a dealbreaker
If you have too many apps, 4.2 will be very laggy and have a pour battery life.
But i dont know how! Gamerz ROM still feeling like im on 4.1! Its fast and the performance is the best for a 4.2!
I have tryed all of those ROM in development thread. This is my favorite .
ICS is good two. Is a little slow than 4.1. But i liked it.
Just try some ROMs for a day or two. You will be pleasured ;/

amazing sys
Jellybean is great but using it on the Nexus S is a really bad measuring stick to gauge Jellybean.. If you use the last official 4.1.1 build the Nexus S runs fair if you keep it as a minimalistic smartphone. (defaultish). Still.. It's more than obvious there is some severe limiting of performance due the single core CPU and severely limited amount of RAM.. 4.2.. Eh.. Too much.. I tried keeping my Nexus S active as just an MP3 player but PowerAmp randomly hitches during playback.. I put the phone to bed...
I have to say that generally speaking JB 4.2 is the best system that our Nexus S can run and the best user experience. We all know different usages means different results in battery life, lags, amount if free ram but in any case I feel confident in saying that once you have flashed a 4.2 rom there's no reason to go back to ICS or even to GB. It feels like an overall better experience and performance. Still, I wish the OS were a little more light on the small stock battery but hey, it's a decent tradeoff. Most of the time I'm on 2G data only because that's ok for my kind of usage (mostly emails and twitter) and with that the battery is quite decent.
The only issue that I have seen with the 4.2 roms I have tried is that after a few days (4 or 5) the cached apps are not recalled very quicly when launched. I usually reboot once a week and the problem is gone but in any case I don't feel dissatisfied at all.
I love jelly bean works great

Do you want TouchWiz based and have all Samsung features? Do you want AOSP based like CM etc?
If you want to game etc, then look at changing kernels and tweaking you can read about kernel tweaking HERE - No one can tell you which is the best for "performance" as no one has any idea what you use your device for..

I honestly really don't mind either having samsung stock or cm, just one that will give best performance, but yeah I have been through like 10 different custom roms and each one has their issues, like nfc issue, battery issue, etc.
Also how do people get 50,000+ on antutu with the same n9005 device?
S5 port by gooh and C-Rom are my personal preference.

Antutu (version 5 is reporting incorrectly so people who think they are getting 50-60K actually are not.. lol) means nothing, don't even bother. - In regards to ROM battery isn't the ROM itself really, it'st the kernel. Use a custom kernel and have a look at how to tweak it for better battery performance.

Talking only about MM systems.
DU is my prefered in this moment. Has good features, smoothness and battery.
AICP is the most complete but I'm not getting results in smoothness and battery as good as DU. Gets better with Lambda kernel.
crDroid is maybe the most smooth, has good battery but not so much features.
The best MM custom kernel actual is Lambda, specially the most recent builds (Beta).
Off course devs are working to get their ROMs better at each build, so it's always worth to try each ROM for yourself and see what you think about latest builds.

Yes, I mean Marshmallow.
I heard DU 6.0.1 is having some problems with Bluetooth. I said I heard because I never use Bluetooth, so I can't be sure about how it is.
Camera is also not so good as stock camera, but still is pretty good, I can use it as daily camera. Custom ROMs AOSP/CM have not so good camera, it's common, but I think it worth cause you gain with smoothness, features (Ambient Display, Easy flashlight, Themes, Navbar and Statusbar configs, and lots of other features). You can have more control over your system.

Hello there Fellas'
Which will be the most well rounded up and stable NOTE7 ROM for GALAXY NOTE 3 SM-N9005 that I'd be able to run as a daily driver. I want a stable ROM that curates a smooth user experience, minimal bugs and a decent battery life as well.
I wish to know that which will the most suitable ROM and Kernel to go for that will be stable enough to work.
My honest opinion for you NONE .
If you have to ask this sort of question then you should be sticking to stock roms .
Nothing to stop you reading the threads for any rom and deciding what you want .
