[Q] OmniROM 4.4 Exchange mail patches - Omni Q&A

Hello,
In Android 4.4 there appears to be some pretty wicked Exchange mail issues and supposedly Google resolved according to https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=61785 and it looks like the CM guys merged fixes with http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/54017/ I'm trying to look through the OmniROM gerrit not getting anywhere so far. Would anyone using OmniROM 4.4 please reply if Exchange mail is working well or not?

I'm running Omni, the latest nightly, 10/12/2013 on my I9300 and haven't had any issues with Exchange mail.

4.4.1 probably includes those patches

Found this topic through searching. For me, Exchange has been giving problems since I put Omni 4.4.2 on it. Email does not arrive, syncing seems not to work.

I have never gotten the exchange to work at all, i only want to use it for contact sync.
For everything else (email/calendar) i use TouchDown Exchange, which never fails.

I've been using the exchange on my HTC One with no problems. I also have exposed with the exchange security defeat module and all is working fine for me. Never really had any problems with either at all.
Good Luck

Exchange Push Email

Morning all,
In the stock Froyo I found that Exchange push email was not working reliably. There were alot of postings on the Moto forum, as well as other forums. I myself saw this problem in the middle of the day, where I had to manually sync to get my new Exchange email, rather than it showing up via push and then being notified. This is a huge problem for me.
Now that I have moved to the 591 release of Gbread I was wondering if this issue still exists, or has it been resolved. If not then how are you getting around this huge problem?
Thanks,
Steve
Steve,
I have a newer Droid, build 340...I have not experienced the lack of pushing Email while stock.
I did download a couple of apps that seemed to interfere, I rooted and installed a ROM Manager (for task management), this caused my Email to quit syncing, but my calender was fine (very odd), to fix this I removed all of my information in my corporate synch account and then re-entered it and all has been well since.
I'm not sure if this is the same problem you are having but this was my experience.

Exchange Email App Outbox Wont Open

Hey all,
I have my work email pushed to my phone to the standard email app. Everything works fine, except I cannot open the outbox. I just realized I have four emails in there that never sent and I have no idea what they are in order to retype/send/deliver them.
Currently running the Purity ROM with Franco Kernal r191.
Anyone else experience this or know of a fix?
Thanks!
This happens to me from time to time.

Make sure you aren't over your email inbox size quota.

No Search in Email App CM11

Running CM11 nightly build for today 12/12/13, also was running the previous build and everything runs fine except I have no search icon on the default email app. Does anyone else have this issue?
Just wanted to follow up on this. I thought it might be a KitKat or CM issue so I flashed CM 10.2. Same issue, no search in default exchange mail app. I then flashed one of the LG based roms and same thing. Interesting note that as I was entering the server details I could see the little search Icon on the top but as soon as I entered the server specs it disappeared. I'm beginning to believe that it is something to do with my companies Exchange server now. Also note that when I first received the phone, I was totally stock using the LG email app and search was there. As a work around I have installed the Cloudmagic email app which is pretty good and has the search feature but one grip I have about it is that it doesn't search your companies global contacts like the default app does so your stuck with copying and pasting from another email or just replying to an older one. And before anyone asks, Yes I have tried Touchdown but the $20 asking price is ridiculous IMHO and I just think the interface is retarded. Again, my opinion. If you like it more power to ya!

After doing a little more research on this it seems that this might actually be an Android problem.

[Q] Exchange Calendar on KK ROM

Gang
I've Googled this to no avail, so either my Google-fu is lacking, or the answer simply isn't that easy to find!
I recently got a new job that uses an Exchange server. My RAZR M is currently running AOSP 4.4, so it has the ActiveSync bug that has plagued KK users since it's inception (namely, the "Can't connect to server" problem).
I am able to get my email via CloudMagic, so that's not a problem. I need a solution to get my calendar events to sync over as well.
We are running Exchange 2010, so Touchdown doesn't really work (they stopped development at Exchange 2007, apparently). I tried it nonetheless, and the syncing is atrocious (when it works at all).
I'm willing to flash any new ROMS or apps that may be required to get this to work. Is there an old JB Email / Exchange adapter app I could flash? Would that even work with KK?
This is my personal phone, so anything goes. Just let me know, please!
On a related note, I updated my TF101 to a 4.4.4 ROM (KatKiss), and the problem still persists. If Google fixed the bug, it didn't come across in that ROM.
I'm on CM11 with an exchange 2010 and office 365 (exchange 2013 driven) servers synced with emails and calendar with no issues... Maybe worth a shot?
Sent from my RAZR M (CM Nightlies) from Tapatalk Pro.

Exchange email disappears and reloads on CM 13.0

Pretty serious oddness here. Anyone else seeing this? Could be a bug that needs logging but I am not "cool" enough to post in the Dev forum.
I have a G900P (sprint s5, cdma)
I loaded the release/snaptshot version cm-13.0-20151227-UNOFFICIAL-kltespr.zip
I then add my hotmail (exchange) account to the stock email app
It loads 1 week of email as expected
Read an email (download any images, etc)
Now click back, or close and re-launch the email app
All recent email (today+ 4 or 5 days) is GONE, poof, magic! (older emails still there)
Email app then proceeds to re-download all the missing email
Rinse and repeat
This can't be good. This is literally with a clean install, no 3rd party apps installed.
CM13 is still in development and too young for the S5. Many fixes and changes are being implemented on daily basis. So doing a clean install of the latest nightly and gapps might solve your problem.
That being said, I grab the newest gapps from the link below, install Gmail app, and install the exchange service app from the same link. This will enable the exchange capability of gmail app and set it as the default email on your phone. Just like things are on a Google nexus phone.
With many thanks to Deltadroid for getting us the latest gapps:

Hence my post, trying to help devs. Good to be aware of these issues and work on fixes. Latest nightly still had the same issues.
If I use GApps Exchange, then I would not be able to surface these issues in the stock email app for developers. But it may be worth a try as far as getting my own phone working, yes. Thx.
