Hi. I bought a USB 3.0 OTG cable and connect with my 1TB Toshiba USB 3.0 External HD (formated as ExFat).
I tried to copy file from HDD to internal storage of Note 3 but the maximum speed i can see is around 30 MB/s which is slow like USB 2.
1). Anyone tried and has faster speed than this?
2). It takes about 2.5 minutes for Note 3 to read the 1TB HDD... Is it normal?
Yes

Nothing seems better then. Its the same transfer speed and about semilar reading time (1.5 minutes for 500GB and 2.5 minutes for 1TB).

Samsung had a news release of the new Vibrant 4G or the so called, Galaxy S 4G. In the news print, i've excerpt the synopsis of its specs:
" With a slim and sleek design, the Galaxy S 4G’s 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display gives customers a vivid, sharp viewing experience, whether consumers choose to watch a movie or read a book or newspaper with the preloaded Kindle for Android application while on the go. Powered by Android™ 2.2, the Galaxy S 4G is equipped with a speedy Samsung 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application Processor, an ST-Ericsson M5720 HSPA+ 4G modem to enable theoretical peak downloads of up to 21 Mbps, a 5 megapixel camera, a preinstalled 16GB microSD memory card, and a 1650 mAh lithium ion battery. What do you guys think?
I'm more interested on that 4G antenna modem, that 1650 mAh battery, and what kind of camera they've installed....
Hmm.
Probably gonna get that battery if its not too expensive

No its the same battery that was in galaxy s international version that was released in Italy so it should be the same.

I don't think so. If anything, the I9000 door *might* fit?
I'm curious about the antenna. I wonder is it's compatible and would fit on the vibe's current antenna slot.
Then if the Vibe can capture that bandwith.... hmm
I can't wait to get my hands on that and see if i can operate on it and swap the antenneas

The battery size is the same, that will not change, I am also interested in the camera hoping it will be compatible with our Vibrant

With a 5GB monthly cap until one is throttled and 21Mbps (or 2.62MBps) service, that means one can use the service at full blast for 1904 seconds, or 31.74 minutes a month before throttling.

You forgot to account for the fact that faster speed means lower actual usage time, meaning that the 31.74 minutes will last you for a while.
Ex. a 200 MB video instead of loading at 7.2 mbps (0.88 MB/s rounded to nears 1 MB), taking at least 200 seconds; the same videos will now load in less than 80 seconds.
This is of course, if your phone can hit the theoretical maximum all the time.

Yeah, 200MB of video is like 20 minutes of full resolution video on our phones at a 5GB/month cap it is like 8-9 hours of video a month.
That is about five or six 90 minute movies a month.
If you are downloading movies, it still makes sense to do it over wifi.
Given that caps I'm not pining after the V+4G (not that I'd turn one down) and why I think that 4G is a poor substitute for broadband.

Yup, I mean the 4g technology is amazing. It's just the carrier and their artificial cap that's crippling the service. Today it's like the old dial up time, when access is counted by the minutes (in our case it is counted by the bandwidth). I can't wait until we move pass this period and onto the future where wireless internet is the norm.

I'm throwing my (totally outdated) Vibrant in the trash and flopping down another $500+ clams and getting me this bad boy!!!

Wait a second y'all I thought the 4G didn't have an external sd? Therefore only the 16gb internal.
Yeah I just read the whole press release and it only mentions one sd card.

I'm definitely getting the battery for my Vibrant, and possibly the camera, I'm curious to know which one it is, I don't mind the speeds as I have strong 3g ;]
As we see in the tear down of the galaxy tab 10.1 (see link ) it contains the Broadcom BCM4330 (BCM4330XKFFBG) whis is according to its data sheet is a dual band wifi chip with bluetooth 4.0 support , i don't think it will make a difference but i just wanted to mentioned it for you

3 or 4 doesnt matter because I tested bluetooth through galaxy s2 and the speed was very slow. I think bluetooth 3 speed should be around 24Mb/s or (3MB/s) but what I got was 1/10th of that
I have read an article that the 24Mb/s is a theoretical. Number which needs some kind of amplifiers but on normal devices 2.1 acts like 3.0 & 4.0

Nexus 4: 16 GB, Optimus G: 32 G
Nexus 4 Latest updates, Optimus G: very slow updates( I meant very slow), and every small developing community ( i meant really very small)
Nexus 4: no LTE, Optimus G: Supports LTE (in india LTE not available)
Nexus 4: no USB OTG support, Optimus G: (Supports pen drive mouse keyboard u name it)
Both devices have reported back cover crack issues and over heating issues. Please provide your views on this.
Both looks good.
Howz gaming performance?
Nexus in india is 25k where as optimus g is 30 k.
So which one to go for.

Go for the Nexus
1. You most likely won't use 32 Gb. I have 8 Gb free on my 16 Gb Nexus(12 Gb usable), with about 40 apps, and 300 songs, 200 photos
2. Updates and community count a lot. The Nexus experience would be greater and more entertaining
3. Nexus can have LTE, if you really want it.
4. Gaming is about the same on both
5. The Nexus does not overheat. The glass on the back is a good heat conductor, which drives away heat from the center of the phone, keeping the core relatively cool. All those people complaining about overheating issues never had a quad core phone before.

Nope, but it's the only thing on USB otg I have found...
Before I bought the phone, I was worried that 16GB might be too little, but I've had the phone for 7 months now and have always had more than 3GB free
Guys can someone reply if they have tried the USB otg.. Do we need to power it externally..

I bought this card in June for my S4. It transfers at blazing speeds and has been worth every penny.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005VFG06W/
Avoid Sandisk cards. They have been failing at a high rate, and are slower compared to the competition. I'd recommend getting a Samsung micro-sd card from amazon for just a few dollars more.
I had the ultra in my note 2. Switched to the extreme a month ago when the Lyra started failing.
I found even in the note 2 a noticeable difference in read/write.

Hi,
I have a TAB 2 P3110, i ask my self is it worth to buy the TAB 3 SM-210?
My question is in the performance level.
Thanks for your opinion.
A friends son has the tab3(7") and have to say it's not as good in my opinion...
we have played the same games together and the graphics on his are really bad (eg f-18 game) I have graphics up at highest with out issues yet he can't do the same as its jerky and there's a sort box always showing up where the game area is and same with x-plane....
I also discovered he can change his tab 3 via a a bog standard cigarette usb charger where as I can!!! and battery on the tab 2 seems to out last his tab 3(which is only 1month older than my tab 2) by a good 3 hours and the list goes on....
Personally I think the Tab 3 for what you get is not worth the upgrade and just do the compare check at gsmarena.com and you will actually see there's not much difference other than tab 2 has a gpu(could ot find ref for on on tab 3)
just my opinion

What about the difference between the TFT screen in the TAB 3 and the PCS LCD in the TAB 2? Is there a big difference?
And the 1.2 Dual core is not faster than the 1 dual core in the TAB 2?

Tab 2 can be over clocked and is supported by a good no of developers due to the openness of to omap platform . if you want a real upgrade then go for nexus 7 2013 ,it's worth more than u pay for it?
