Hey guys... Ive been running ROMs for awhile now on my lg g2 and have noticed I've been getting rather horrible battery life since... I'm just barely getting 3 hours of on screen time when I ran both pac-man ROM and my current AICP which is AOKP based... On my lg g2 running stock ROM I was getting 7 hours on screen time easily at the least six... I feel like I have a droid razr again XD the ROM is stable tho so the buttery smoothness kind of makes up for it... Anyone else having the same problem? Any solutions? Any help is greatly appriciated

Any avid flashers go back to stock ROM and stay there? I flip flop between CM and aospa frequently and I'm considering going back to stock. Id think that Google optimised the stock ROM for the Nexus 4. Any comments. Ive always used custom roms

I haven't stayed there on the N4, my GN lived on stock for the last couple of months I used it.
That said if CM didn't exist I would have ZERO issues with rocking the stock images. I'd just carefully choose which market apps to fill some of the functionality void.

When I first got my n4 in November I immediately started flashing ROMs (cm being ROM of choice). But after about a month I went back to 100% stock unrooted and stayed that way. Its nice to know everything will just work, plus after a while I get sick of flashing ROMs all the time. Only thing about stock is it gets kinda boring after a while, which is why I flashed PA yesterday but I'm kinda already thinking about going back to stock lol... Nothing matches its speed & smoothness imo

How bout battery life? I don't like using custom kernels... To many things to tinker with.

I wouldn't consider myself an avid flasher but I did try a ROM (AOKP) and ended up going back to stock because I like knowing everything will work on my phone when I need it to. On previous non nexus devices I always flashed ROMs that were as close to AOSP as possible because I think it's smoother (but they'd always have minor issues here and there were functionality didn't quite work all the way). I usually pick a ROM and stick with it. In this particular case I think it will be stock.

Same here, never been a huge fan of kernels. But I decided to give Franco a try and I can safely say battery is slightly better than stock. I was getting about 15 hrs + 3screen on with stock, now on PA w/ Franco I'm getting 4hrs screen on time. Only thing I noticed is every once in a while I see a tiny micro-stutter in an animation, but its worth it for an extra hr of SOT lol. Btw I'm running all stock settings on franco

Naa. Glacier one is a sense rom, and I have always had better battery life on a aosp rom than a sense rom.

Should have tried v1.3. You would have been amazed at the battery life.

Just show you know, battery calibration is a placebo. It's a waste of time. Just flash at 100% and call it good.

CM 7 with darkside kernel aosp by derek jay gets me wicked good battery life. I can easily get 2 days on lite use or 24 hours on heavy use. I don't play games just browse make calls and text a lot. I would go to another rom but I need stability and working wifi calling. No matter how hard I try I can't say no to my MyTouch 4G. Already replaced a cracked screen and now replacing the keypad for a broken and now missing home key.
try vipertouch, its not bad with battery life and maybe you will like it
Would one of our wonderful devs like to help out? I know a lot of people feel my pain as far as battery life on AOSP ROMs and I loved it on my s3...

Don't know about if anyone would port over lean kernel - usually don't see people port kernels. But I definitely don't know about this pain inducing battery life on AOSP roms.
Have you tried Ktoonez kernel? Used it on my S3 and on the S4 the day since it came out. I get great battery life on both TW and AOSP with proper management!

Aosp battery life is nothing close to what I get with stock... Even with ktoonsez and ktoonservative UVd to -50 MV across the board its like stock bloated on the s3... absolutely abismal!

Hello guys i know thats my first thread in xda and that tread maybe looks noobish to you but i wanted to ask how is your Battery life with the OTA 4.3 update on nexus 4 i personaly installed
the update with fastboot and factory image as soon as it got realesed and until then i havent charged it yet.I ve seen some vids on yt surfed the
net and played some nfs most wanted by the way the battery status now is at 10% So how is yours ?
Was on OTA update til acouple minutes and from what I could tell, I felt my battery life last longer compared to stock 4.2.2 and slightly less than Franco's

That is outstanding. But how in the world is it possible that you have a "screen on" state without being awake?
I have been fighting battery issues for so long now, I'd really like to get to something as good as what you get...
i get 5 hours on heavy use until i hit 10 % well my setup is in my signature on light use i am sure i can stretch it to 6 hours with brightness on auto and wifi is on most of the time
battery life is never going to be better for me unless i uv. the previous setup, i used cm 10.1.2 stable with matr1x kernel. i uv and set the max cpu to 1350. it was really really good. i can use the phone from 8am to 9pm.
now currently using aosp 4.3, the default setup battery life has improved a bit compared to 4.2.2 stock, but after semaphore kernel installed and uv a bit, even with max cpu at default which is 1.5ghz, battery life has been really great.

I've terrible battery usage after 4.3 update. I never had any issues before but now I get 20 to 30 percent drop during the night when before it was under 10 in the same scenario.
Android os Showing 6h usage...
Any help on sorting this out highly appreciated.
Battery life has increased a lot for me.
No heavy usage, I know. But still awesome compared to the stats I had when I bought my nexus 4

Just out of curiosity, are in you the US/North America?
I had the same issue of losing tons of battery to the OS overnight. I reflashed to an older version of the modem. Most of the people I have seen so far with these symptoms have been in France and India. Must be something about the cell services and how they interact with the phone.
@Calebz: I'm in Ireland.
I've restarted the phone since and the battery usage is back to normal, will see for how long.
Maybe you can look at this:

Hi Guys
I wanted to try cyanogenmod 11 for the lg g2 i just wanted to know if the snapshots are stable enough to use as a daily driver or should i just flash the stable 10.2? and how is the battery life on the phone better or worse than stock? and also does cyanogenmod improve the gaming performance on the LG G2 does it give more FPS than the stock LG rom?
Thanks in advance!
Not worth (for me)

I recently installed the last nightly... Coudn't stay with it for more then a day... my BT didn't work and in the first try the camera FC'ed... Besides that I use the 120fps recording from G Pro 2... That isn't available on CM
^^^ Weird.
I'm using the latest nightly (well from 2 nights ago) on my D801 and I am having zero issues so far.
battery life seems about the same as Cloudy Pro 2 and stock.
performance is slightly better, but as far as games go, I haven't noticed a difference.
everything seems to be working just fine for me....camera works great, BT has been rock solid all day, not a single reboot/FC. absolutely no complaints....I'm surprised because i have heard some not so good things about CM on this phone (only had phone for 2 weeks now)

CM 10.2 was solid but every CM 11 nightly or snapshot that I tried gave me crashes, reboots and FC's. I personally wouldn't use anything but a stable build for a daily driver.
No issues. The latest nightly seemed to fix the WiFi connectivity issue and no longer need to go into airplane mode. I do have crash / reboot at least once a day though.
I have a LS980 and could never get the CM11 to boot. Once flashed the phone always booted to fastboot. I know on other AOSP ROMs the LS980 has glitchy problems that other G2 phones do not. Problems related to bluetooth and wifi and a kernel problem that causes reboots and Andriod.UI crashes.
Maybe you have a LS980 and that would explain a lot?
Not cyanogen but go with slim ROM you will be happy
