[Q] Cyanogenmod Expiriences - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys
I wanted to try cyanogenmod 11 for the lg g2 i just wanted to know if the snapshots are stable enough to use as a daily driver or should i just flash the stable 10.2? and how is the battery life on the phone better or worse than stock? and also does cyanogenmod improve the gaming performance on the LG G2 does it give more FPS than the stock LG rom?
Thanks in advance!

Not worth (for me)

I recently installed the last nightly... Coudn't stay with it for more then a day... my BT didn't work and in the first try the camera FC'ed... Besides that I use the 120fps recording from G Pro 2... That isn't available on CM

^^^ Weird.
I'm using the latest nightly (well from 2 nights ago) on my D801 and I am having zero issues so far.
battery life seems about the same as Cloudy Pro 2 and stock.
performance is slightly better, but as far as games go, I haven't noticed a difference.
everything seems to be working just fine for me....camera works great, BT has been rock solid all day, not a single reboot/FC. absolutely no complaints....I'm surprised because i have heard some not so good things about CM on this phone (only had phone for 2 weeks now)

the battery life on cm 11 is disappointing. shame since I love cm. I only get 4 hours on screen time vs 6 hours of cloudyflex vs 5.5 hours of mahdi rom.

CM 10.2 was solid but every CM 11 nightly or snapshot that I tried gave me crashes, reboots and FC's. I personally wouldn't use anything but a stable build for a daily driver.

No issues. The latest nightly seemed to fix the WiFi connectivity issue and no longer need to go into airplane mode. I do have crash / reboot at least once a day though.

I have a LS980 and could never get the CM11 to boot. Once flashed the phone always booted to fastboot. I know on other AOSP ROMs the LS980 has glitchy problems that other G2 phones do not. Problems related to bluetooth and wifi and a kernel problem that causes reboots and Andriod.UI crashes.
Maybe you have a LS980 and that would explain a lot?

Not cyanogen but go with slim ROM you will be happy

Has there been any set stable releases yet? Are the nightlies good for a daily driver?
Thanks

I flashed a nightly last night and up until this afternoon it seemed ok. However when I picked it up it had turned itself off. I hadn't changed the kernel or anything.
So perhaps it's not ready for day to day use just yet.
I found problems with PA as well. One morning the sound controls caused it to reboot..
So I'm back on Minco which is very stable.
They are good, but MiNCO gives you better battery results (imo)
I have been using nightlies as my daily drivers for six weeks, with only the occasional, obscure issue to speak of.
nightlies are stable. just try them.
There has been a "milestone" release too.

One of these days, someone will make a phone and everyone will rejoice at the satisfactory battery, the good screen, the awesome camera, the no-lagginess, the perfectly tuned speaker.... Ad infinitum....

That is outstanding. But how in the world is it possible that you have a "screen on" state without being awake?
I have been fighting battery issues for so long now, I'd really like to get to something as good as what you get...
i get 5 hours on heavy use until i hit 10 % well my setup is in my signature on light use i am sure i can stretch it to 6 hours with brightness on auto and wifi is on most of the time
battery life is never going to be better for me unless i uv. the previous setup, i used cm 10.1.2 stable with matr1x kernel. i uv and set the max cpu to 1350. it was really really good. i can use the phone from 8am to 9pm.
now currently using aosp 4.3, the default setup battery life has improved a bit compared to 4.2.2 stock, but after semaphore kernel installed and uv a bit, even with max cpu at default which is 1.5ghz, battery life has been really great.

I've terrible battery usage after 4.3 update. I never had any issues before but now I get 20 to 30 percent drop during the night when before it was under 10 in the same scenario.
Android os Showing 6h usage...
Any help on sorting this out highly appreciated.
Battery life has increased a lot for me.
No heavy usage, I know. But still awesome compared to the stats I had when I bought my nexus 4

Just out of curiosity, are in you the US/North America?
I had the same issue of losing tons of battery to the OS overnight. I reflashed to an older version of the modem. Most of the people I have seen so far with these symptoms have been in France and India. Must be something about the cell services and how they interact with the phone.
@Calebz: I'm in Ireland.
I've restarted the phone since and the battery usage is back to normal, will see for how long.
Maybe you can look at this:

Battery life running roms

Hey guys... Ive been running ROMs for awhile now on my lg g2 and have noticed I've been getting rather horrible battery life since... I'm just barely getting 3 hours of on screen time when I ran both pac-man ROM and my current AICP which is AOKP based... On my lg g2 running stock ROM I was getting 7 hours on screen time easily at the least six... I feel like I have a droid razr again XD the ROM is stable tho so the buttery smoothness kind of makes up for it... Anyone else having the same problem? Any solutions? Any help is greatly appriciated

Nexus 4 , then and now

I owned a nexus 4 when it was launched.
Kept it for a while but sold it because of the poor (at the time) battery times with stock 4.2.
My question is if anything has changed since then in terms of battery and/or performance with the latest kit kat 4.2
Can battery runtimes get any better with custom roms ? Stable one at least...
Thanks in advance.

Well, everything has changed. There are a variety of kernels that greatly improve battery life..so I don't see any consequences to sell N4 just because of that

There are all kinds of kernels and ROMs to extend battery life. I love this phone more now than I did when I bought it. Nexus 5 what?

[Q] AOSP Roms are stable now?

I was using Mahdi, Paranoid, CM11 and much other roms based in AOSP.
But I always had battery and stability problem.
These bugs were fixed now? Because I love original android look.
I am using Cloudy Flex 2.2 with fantastic battery life of 5 hour screen time and 26 hours of usage.
I know ive been using cm for awhile still a litle buggy but not as bad as it used to be
