Anyone else having issues web browsing on the various 4.4 alpha builds? Doesn't seem to matter which rom/browser I use...same issues.

Even with launcher pro there is a noticeable lag switch between windows or scrolling around not found in any other nand build i tried, but only with mdj's. Is anyone else getting this weird problem?

I use launcher pro but I don't notice the lag. it's not as fast as superram or jdms but no lag.

I don't know what lag you are talking about but my phone runs flawless. I'm on 2.4 and I don't have problems at all..Define lag

And I believe he's still the only one with a CM7-based ROM. Haven't been that active here the past weeks though so may have missed something.
MDJ is like a household brand. Typically he is quick at releasing updates and new ideas. Generally his ROMs are also Overclocked, which makes them "faster". I have found that there tends to be more minor 'glitches' in his releases, (not to the point that they are unusable though, and most go unnoticed), mainly because he is so quick at incorporating new ideas. Generally, if you want a ROM that is 'cutting edge' you use MDJ's Roms, if you want a stock look and feel rom, you don't.

Indeed my sentiments exactly.
My experience of MDJ's CM7 rom was mainly juddery ui and juddery launcher, no matter what I used. It was like someone cut the frame rate down to like 20 fps when moving around the rom. Everything loaded fast, and games seemed to run ok, but the UI was a complete mess for me.
I've now moved to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909096 with MDJ's 10.4 OC Kernel ripped from his CM7 rom and I couldn't be happier performance wise. Of course I'm missing the CM settings, and Facebook sync doesn't work, but the UI is now a pleasure to navigate round again, and most importantly, it's as fast as his CM7 rom CPU performance wise (measured with Linpack).
I have not had any lag with MDJ 2.6 (nand) since I switched... You might have experienced conflicting app since Gingerbread is not fully supported by ALL of the existing market apps.
JDMS (SD Card version) I used was great and fast but MDJs is much smoother
Hi,
I got a Nexus 10 device and get random reboots, bluetooth- and Wifi-problems and wonder if those problems are solved in other ROMs.
I've looked at ParanoidAndroid, CM10.1, AOKP and so on and they seem(?) premature for now? They all seem lovely though and after some time when they had the chance to mature I'll test all of them anyway
Is Nexus 10 a too new device so no one had the time to release a stable(Released as Stable by group) version of any Original Rom Dev?
Sv: [Q] Roms NOT affected by 4.2.* issues
Anyone...?

I'm running CleanROM 2.0 and no reboot issues. I strongly believe that Chrome Browser is a major culprit with the reboot issue. CR does not contain Chrome, uses AOSP browser by default.

How about the bluetooth and wifi issues?
Depends what you mean. Some people have problems connecting to some hardware, others dont. It is somewhat of a 4.2 issue, but it also has to do with hardware compatibility and what version of hardware you have for your bluetooth. You might just be SOL.
random reboots seem to happen a little bit from 4.2 issues but also from software compatibility issues from things that dont work well with the new system. So it will just take time there as well.
Thank you very much!

I don't have any WiFi issues. Don't use Bluetooth
I had some major issues with 4.2 on my nexus 7, which I was able to solve by flashing cm10.1 - this is 2 months ago. When I got the nexus 10 a month ago, I kinda immediately flashed cm10.1 and have not had 1 issue with it so far.... just my 2c
I've had reboot problems with the stock ROM and the Official AOKP ROM with the kernel it comes with. I've never had issues with bluetooth and my only problem with wifi is that it is not nearly as strong as my Galaxy S2's wifi. I've had no problems with Paranoid or CM, but I used ktoonsez's kernel with those. Right now, I am using Task650's AOKP with ktoonsez's kernel and it's running flawless. I have a lot of love for them as I use their stuff on my phone too. As far as I can tell, the problems are in the kernel.
CM10.1, and Franco kernal here with absolutely no problems...
I'm stock rooted build JOD40F without freezes .

My wifi works just fine on task AOKP, but it is really slow on the cm10 nightly.
Is anyone else having this issue?

No issues here with WiFi on CM 10.1 6/1-6/7 nightly
No issues on Slim, I break 70... If the test would run longer, I'm sure it would be faster...
I've had my TF300T for a year now.
I never updated the firmware (still stock 4.1), but it is rooted.
It still does everything I want it to do: Play games, watch videos through Plex, Youtube, and mostly just browse the internet.
My only problem with it is that it could be less "sluggish" when browsing on Chrome, though mobile formatted webpages are fine.
It isn't sluggish enough for me to need to go looking for ways to improve it, however, since my current firmware is ancient, I guess it is time for me to look into my options and see if it is worth my time.
Is there any performance improvement to be gained by updating to the latest stock firmware?
Is there a very stable, well established, modded firmware that makes it run smoother?

Android 4.4 running with ART and Overclock Kernal is so smoooooth with web browsing and games. Personally, I use CM11, but there are a few others too in the dev section.

A custom ROM -without ART or overclock-... is that good enough for what the OP wants?
without ART: because it's still experimental by Google and it might cause issues
without overclocking: because it will reduce the battery life of the tablet (and might cause issues)

haha, two completely opposite suggestions.
I don't mind losing battery life to overclocking. The tablet stays home almost all the time and we rarely ever get to 50% battery before we are done with the tablet and can leave it to charge again.
Stability isn't mission critical but it sure would suck to have to reboot more than once every couple of days due to a crash.
Now after having read about ART, and overclocking... damn, maybe I want to get into tweaking that mofo and make it nice again.
First, I need to dismantle it to re-align the screen. The damn thing was mis-aligned from the day I had to replace the digitizer

Hey all,
I was wondering which chrome build runs the best on our beloved nexus 6p's: stable or beta? Which one gives you the best performance and uses the least battery juice?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
I use chrome canary. It really is hard to tell a difference between all the chrome versions. If tuga browser would work consistently on more roms id use it. It was really fast.

I use beta. It seemed to use less battery when I installed it but that was a while ago.
I freeze Chrome and use Dolphin! Problem solved
I used to use Dolphin but after a while I just found too many problems. It didn't render some web pages correctly. It wouldn't open some websites at all even though they worked on another browser. It also had a tendency to freeze and crash.
Yeah I've used others, but after a while I kept going back to chrome..
Thanks for your experiences!
