Wifi Disconnect Web portal - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If you connect to a wifi network with a web portal such as Attwifi at mcdonalds it will auto disconnect you and there is no setting to turn it off..
does this happen to anyone else?

Wifi/menu/advanced/auto network switch... turn it off
That feature will knock you off any wifi that is showing slow speeds and kick you back out to 4G

WiFi Connection Keeps Saying: "Connecting" but, Doesn't Connect

When I view the wifi connections in the HTC HD2 and try to connect to my home wifi it just keeps saying, "Connecting" but, doesn't seem to connect. These are the things I'm unsure about:
The status of the connection on the HD2 is saying T-Mobile 3G. I am able to browse the interent and use data. The thing is that, when my home wifi is off, then the HD2 cannot connect to anything online like web browsing. I'm on a prepaid t-mobile plan so I'm not supposed to be able to use anything data related, browsing web etc.. so how come it says I'm connected to 3G and does not say I'm connected to Wifi?
It sounds like I'm connected to Wifi if I'm not able to get any data usage such as browsing web if my Wifi at home is down but, I'm not sure what's going on it's kind of confusing, since on the phone it does not say it's connected to WiFi and can't seem to connect to Wifi just says, "Connecting" and in the notification area for "WiFi" it says, "Not connected." If I click my home Wifi Connection here it just has a circle that keeps rotating around under my connection but, doesn't do anything. The other thing is that if I go online on the web through the HD2 the IP is not my home IP so that's also confusing since if I'm connected to wifi it should be my home network IP.

WiFi Auto Connect

One irritation I have with the HD2 is that it won't automatically connect to my home WiFi when I have been away from the network. I have WiFi set to switch off of it doesn't connect to a network within 1 minute (to conserve battery), but even if I leave WiFi switched on, I have to manually connect to my home network when in range. What I would ideally like is for WiFi to be 'off' when I am away from my network, but automatically switch 'on' and connect, when in range. I don't need to use WiFi when out, so I don't need it to continually search for networks when I am not at home. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Aria Wi-Fi Issues

My aria shows connected to the wifi but it will only operate off of the networks data. On the status bar you can see the wifi connection and on the right where there is usually a check mark when your connected and using wifi data there is the arrows that show network data transfer. Any one have any suggestion on how to fix it?
Normally when the Aria is connected to a WIFI network it will use the WIFI for data transfer. If you do not want o use the 3G connection for data then hold down the power button then turn off the mobile network.

Connecting to mobile network

Connecting to wifi works fine but i can't seem to get any internet connection with my mobile network. I have data enabled in my mobile network settings but it still doesn't connect. How do I fix this?
Sometimes I have to go to airplane mode then back again.

Advanced WiFi settings

Can someone please school me on how the Advanced WiFi settings options work?
WiFi signal weak - Does this literally "Turn Off" WiFi on my phone when the signal is weak? Or just disconnect from the network it's connected to and keep searching for other networks?
Internet unavailable - Same thing... does this disconnect from the network or totally "Turn Off" my wifi when internet is unavailable? What is internet unavailable btw?
Just disconnects the current Wifi network....
Any wifi device can connect to a network whether it has access to the internet or not. If there is No access to the internet on the network the phone is connected to it will disconnect from that network.
