Can someone please school me on how the Advanced WiFi settings options work?
WiFi signal weak - Does this literally "Turn Off" WiFi on my phone when the signal is weak? Or just disconnect from the network it's connected to and keep searching for other networks?
Internet unavailable - Same thing... does this disconnect from the network or totally "Turn Off" my wifi when internet is unavailable? What is internet unavailable btw?
Just disconnects the current Wifi network....
Any wifi device can connect to a network whether it has access to the internet or not. If there is No access to the internet on the network the phone is connected to it will disconnect from that network.

Hi
I have a WiFi network at home (802.11g), the network does not broadcast a network name and also has 64bit WEP security active.
When I turn on Wirless Lan On I cannot find my network.
When im out and about and turn Wireless Lan On, I can connect to any network thats available.
Has anyone got any ideas how i can setp up my PDA to work with my Wireless Network at home?
Many thanks
Matt

I hav GPRS enable on my phone and at my home i have a WiFi
So when i connect to the internet from my phone when i am at home it always connects using GPRS but i want to connect it through Wifi when i am at home...Is there any optio through which i can select as to how i want to connect to the internet i.e. either by GPRS or Wifi??
Plz help
disconnect your gprs connection just clikc on the Edge Icon on the top bar and then and disconnect the t-mobile data connection and then manually connect to wifi spot and it shouldnt connect through ur gprs until u want it to
If you have WiFi turned on, it'll automatically try to find a network it can connect you and notify you of the best connection. If it doesn't WiFi may not be on, you can check in the Comm Manager to make sure its on. If it is on, you can click the WiFi icon on the top bar and select your network.
The phone will automatically use Wifi instead of GPRS if WiFi is connected. If it tries to connect through GPRS it is either because WiFi is disabled or WiFi isn't connected to a network.
i entered apn settings on my tab to work with my carrier, but i can't seem to connect to 3g connection.
how do you turn on 3g/gprs?
in the settings>about it says mobile network connection disconnected
At my place of work, the open/guest Wi-Fi times out after about 1 hour, which requires re-authenticating through a webpage. When my connection to the network times out, my N4 graciously notifies me that I need to sign in to the network again. This is all well and fine. My question though is, why does my N4 continue to try to use the Wi-Fi connection if I have "Avoid poor connections" checked under the Advanced Wi-Fi settings? This setting indicates that it won't use a Wi-Fi network unless it has a good Internet connection. I would like to use the Wi-Fi, but when the connection is no longer available, I would like my N4 to start using the mobile network...is this possible?
