Connecting to wifi works fine but i can't seem to get any internet connection with my mobile network. I have data enabled in my mobile network settings but it still doesn't connect. How do I fix this?
Sometimes I have to go to airplane mode then back again.

Using Internet pass-through on my phone, connected to my PC, works fine. But after I've been using it and have disconnected, my phone seems to forget that it can connect to the GSM/3G networks for data, and any attempts to use data fail (with no icons to indicate a data connection). All settings under Wireless & Networks still show it to try to connect for data.
If I reboot the phone, it's fine.

I have the same problem. Anyone has a solution?
I can't seem to make the internet pass through thing work in the first place.
At first win7 kept telling me that drivers were not installed. Later on, after having downloaded and installed everything I could find, it seemed to recognize the phone, but the desire still couldn't connect :|
Yes, I have this problem too. I use the Internet pass-through very often because on our college is wi-fi prohibited. Phone restart helps but I must do this every morning. Similar problem is while disconnecting from wi-fi (out of signal range). Sometimes happens that GSM/WCDMA are not going up.
Hi,
Some possible answers to this issue here:

Can someone please school me on how the Advanced WiFi settings options work?
WiFi signal weak - Does this literally "Turn Off" WiFi on my phone when the signal is weak? Or just disconnect from the network it's connected to and keep searching for other networks?
Internet unavailable - Same thing... does this disconnect from the network or totally "Turn Off" my wifi when internet is unavailable? What is internet unavailable btw?
Just disconnects the current Wifi network....
Any wifi device can connect to a network whether it has access to the internet or not. If there is No access to the internet on the network the phone is connected to it will disconnect from that network.

So, I recently got a camera that connects to my phone via WiFi to use as viewer. When connected to the WiFi camera, I can't surf the internet. I figured when the phone didn't detect internet connection through the WiFi it would use the mobile/LTE connection for internet. This seems to not be the case. Does anybody know of a way to force using the mobile/LTE connection while the phone thinks it's connected to a WiFi network? Thanks in advance.
Put the wireless camera on a network and get remote access to it or use download booster which should work as a back up internet
Thanks for the suggestion. I can’t put the cam on the network, it doesn’t have an interface. All settings need to be adjusted through the phone. It’s a Xiaomi MiSphere.
Download booster, on the other hand, is worth looking into. I took a hiatus from Android for a while, just got back into it with the GS8 so relearning things.
If I understand your question correctly, the phone connects directly to the camera via WiFi. So as far as the phone can tell, the camera is a router with no internet connection.
I have the same problem.. I need to connect to my car via WiFi without internet connection, but I want to stay online via mobile network. It has worked well on my previous OnePlus 3 with the stock rom, but SGS8+ doesn't support this feature. I have tried to turn on "Keep Mobile data turned on" option in "Developer options", but it isn't helpful. The Mobile Data is on while connected to the WiFi, but the Internet connection doesn't work via Mobile network. Google Chrome and all other apps say, I am offline without the Internet.
Any solution?
Any possible solution for this issue?
9T, latest MIUI 10, I have basically all the wifi networks on "automatically connect" option, since they came from google backup from another phone.
Lots of them are without password and require a browser auth, and until you do not do this auth, you have no internet.
On every other phone I had (OnePlus, samsung,...), if there is no internet on wifi, the mobile data stays on.
On this Xiaomi no. It connects to the wifi, it says no internet, but mobile data are kept off since the wifi connection. Wifi Assistant turned ON.
This is very bugging me, since there are lots of wifi with this authentication around the city and sometimes I do not receive messages for 10/15 minutes for that because the phone connects to a wifi that require auth. The only way is setting that wifi network to not automatically connect and then disconnect from it, but I discover it only when I pick up the phone from the pocket.
Already tried to clear network setting (now I do not have any wifi network saved), but the issue persists, if I connect to a wifi and I do not authenticate via browser, I have no data because the mobile data are kept off.
Is it a bug?

Exactly, s8 and also oneplus one did that. I also thought it was a standard android feature...
I tried searching and couldn't find anything. The problem I have is that if I connect to a 'private' wifi network (no internet on the wifi network) I can no longer access any sort of public resources. It has been suggested to me that the 'fix' for this is to go into the developer options and set 'mobile data always active' to 'on' . However this doesn't work. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a way to fix it?
No, not connecting to the wifi network isn't an option, and neither is 'disconnecting' when I need internet and then reconnecting afterwards. I really need to have my data served by the mobile network while also connected to a device via wifi.
