I'm running a rooted N9005 with stock MJ7 (unbranded BTU) on AT&T network in North America. Knox flag is 0x1.
To check my CSC, supposedly all I have to do is dial *#1234# but this does not seem to work for me. Everytime I type in that code, I get an error message which says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code." Yet, I read tons of threads and posts all over where people are dialing in this simple code on their Note 3 and easily viewing their CSC.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have a defective phone or corrupt ROM?

If You have root see on system/csc/sales_code.dat.
Typing on phone keyboard *#1234# You have the csc version like OXXBMJ7. OXX = multi-csc.

You received the error message "Connection problem or invalid MMI code" because you have pressed the CALL button after *#1234#.
Just dial *#1234#, no need to follow by the CALL button.
If nothing was happen, it is because that your ROM does not support this code. I dont know why.

I dialed the code and then waited without pressing the CALL button. Nothing happened.
Does anyone else who has stock BTU MJ7 running verify that this code works on their phone?
*#1234# did not work for me. Then I saw a post for *#9999# it worked for me.
Sent from my Note 3 (N900T) using XDA Premium

Weird. I tried *#9999# and now I get an error message dialog window which just says "Error" with the option to hit OK. That's it. Nothing else.
Does anyone know of any other codes I can try to check my phone's CSC?

To check your CSC, you should be able to type: *#272*[IMEI]# where IMEI is your phones 15 digit IMEI number which you can obtain by entering *#06# from your dialer menu or in the "settings menu" "About Phone/Device".
Hope this helps!

I did purchase an unlock code from unlock-code-central.com. Put a different SIM, typed in the code, got the message all went well, however phone says "emergency calls only"
Can anybody please help me with this?
Is my phone unlocked or not?

There was no need to purchase the code as there are several threads here on how to menu unlock it. But since we are beyond that, I'm guessing the other SIM is not provisioned and has no service on it. Try using a friends T-mobile SIM. That's how I was able to check the menu unlock method.

Thank you for your answer.
I used a regular size Vodafone SIM which I just used in Europe last month, on my other phone, so that SIM should be ok.
However I used a SIM cutter to transform in into a microSIM . Visually looks ok too. Could it be that in this process the SIM (now microSIM) got damaged somehow?
When I first insert it, I was prompted for the unlock code, which I typed, got an ok message, but that's about it.
Now says "emergency calls only" and it does NOT prompt me for the unlock code anymore.
Original ATT SIM works just fine.
There's more: I just put that Vodafone microSIM into my wife's phone (which is unlocked) and it works fine.
So bottom line, I used an unlock code which apparently worked (got the message "network unlock successful") but the phone does not appear to be unlocked.
I will definitely try a T-mobile SIM as soon as I find one, but in the meantime which is that "secret code" to check network status for this phone?
*#7465625# does not work and returns "connection problem or invalid MMI code"
Thank you
anybody has the answer to my question ?

Hi
Ever since I flashed a kitkat rom whether its TW or AOSP im having problems. I never had problems with jelly bean.
With Touchwiz I have the issue when rebooting, sometimes I do not get data and when I try to activate data i get a message "insert sim card" after a few reboots or now "hot reboot" i get the data back.
With AOSP which i tried recently, I have a problem when rebooting I cannot type the lockscreen code! I need a lock screen code for exchange emails.
Could it be the boot loader that is causing issues? I tried flashing official roms but does the one file i flash update the boot loader? Im not sure if I have updated it.
Anyone else similar?
I had problems with reboots when i had wrong baseband. What you can do is:
- Flash Stock Rom (TW)
- Dial *#1234# and attach what appears here.

My baseband says I9505XXUFNB9
Bootloader says I19505XXUFNC4 (root checker app)
I got the "no sim error" when I flashed back to Echoe rom for my i9505, all I did was reflash the rom (with no changes) and bingo worked as soon as the screen came on.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Please be detailed in your explanation, I still consider myself a noob.
What happened:
I got a google play error that would not let me do anything, so I reimaged a stock ROM to my S4 with Odin. Everything worked fine at this point. I realized I didn't back up my text messages, and looked for a SMS recovery software. The software ran and didn't find anything. Later, I rebooted my phone.
My Problem:
After the reboot my phone came up but had a red X over my signal bars. I tried to Self activate, that did nothing. my phone says: "Preparing network..." in the status bar, but it's not doing anything. In my phone status menu it says unknown for all of the following: Network, Mobile network type, My phone number, MIN, MEID, IMEI, ICCID, Software version, Baseband version.
From what I've found it looks like it's a EFS corruption issue, but I wasn't able to find a fix with working links (and it was an older thread). Does anyone know of a method to fix this? I took it to the sprint store and the guy said he's never seen anything like this before.
Additional info:
Phone model: SPH-L720
android version: 4.4.2
Build: NAE
Kernel version: 3.4.0-481102
security software version MDF v1.0 release 2
Try to make hard reset ##786# it will ask you to reboot.

It is asking for a MSL. Where do I find that?
Try to enter 000000 if it doesn't Accept search in forum or in Google how to get MSL from your device.

After reboot?
Nothing happened?
So try the latest solution
Odin the tar NG2 file.
If it didn't work then convert the phone to media player.

I've flashed several official and unofficial ROMs to see if I'd have any luck with them. So far nothing changes this. It looks like the files are corrupted, but there must be a way to change/fix this. It's just software, so there has to be someone who knows how to fix or modify this file, group of files, whatever it is? even if it's with a hex editor.
So the end result was I sent the phone into the Samsung service center. They took care of everything with no charge since it was still under warranty (barely). Everything working fine now. And the process was quick and painless, they even paid for shipping both ways.
Glad that it worked out. I just wanted to say i have had success with dfs cdma tool for ESN repair in the past on my sprint S4.
It's confusing when you first launch the program, however you don't have to buy the full version to use. If you want to look into that, try a search for esn repair on Google.
sprint galaxy s4-Unknown MEID, IMEI, ICCID, service state

I have a used Rogers Galaxy S4 I337M (from Ebay) and I have purchased an unlock code from a third party site. The problem is I cannot for the life of me get the phone to prompt me for the unlock code. I've tried Bell and Fido SIMs with no luck (they work on the phones I pulled them from just fine).
I've tried flashing stock 4.2.2 and trying all of the dialer codes I could find. I've also used Samsung Kies to restore the latest lollipop firmware, but this still does not prompt and the dialer codes don't work here also.
I've also tried going into the dialer service menu (*#0011#) and enable PERSO SHA256 ON and reboot, and still no prompt. Foreign SIMs either show "Unregistered SIM" or "Emergency Calls Only".
The only way I managed to generate a prompt was to do an NV rebuild from the service menu, and the unlock code said it was successful, but the phone still refuses to get any service. The phone does see the networks when I got to Network Operators, but it fails to register or says "unable to connect, try again later".
Can anyone help me get this phone working?
You confirmed that the model # is sgh-i337m in download mode?
The imei from the dialler (*#06#) matches the imei on the label under the battery?
The imei from the dialler is blacklisted?
Tried flashing the latest ROM using Odin?
Tried unlocking the phone using the free method with regionlockaway?

Thanks for your reply, looks like the imei is blacklisted (hadn't thought of that). I guess I'll see if I can get myself a refund.
If you want to keep the phone, try to have the seller get it removed from the blacklist database.
Hi all
I have a new unbranded A3 2017 and a Swisscom SIM Card. In order to be able to use VoLTE I flashed this SWC Firmware from Sammobile:
A320FLXXU1AQF2_A320FLVFG1AQF2_SWC.zip
The Firmware flashed fine and the Vodafone CSC was selected by default. The phone works. Now I'm stuck trying to change the CSC from Vodafone to SWC.
I went through the same procedure without any issues with a Galaxy S7. With the S7, inputting *#272*62826# immediately brings up the list of available CSCs and lets me select one.
Not so with the A3. Inputting *#272*62826# brings up a window "USSD Code wird ausgeführt" and then the error message "UNKNOWN APPLICATION".
*#06# brings up the same window and error message, as does *#1234#. None of the USSD Codes seem to work.
Thanks a lot for any help.

A hard reset did the trick.
